  • If anyone is interested in Boost's 40GB 28-day $30 SIM that's just been reduced to $8, I'll be updating Cashrewards later tonight with a profit cashback on that SIM :)

  • Loss $10 :(

  • Can I port in my optus number with Boost?

    • Yes you can!

  • +1

Amaysim sent me an email - $200 plan for $150 recharge- discount of $50 and an additional 50gb making it 215gb in total.

This deal or $150 for 215gb?

And I think they have also started data rollover from current plan if I am not wrong which I have around 80gb left.

    • the data rollover will only work if your are renewing same plan …i.e in this case your previous plan must be $200.

      • Yes it is

    • Amaysim still showing $200 for me, look like targeted.

      • +1

Yes probably because I got this but my wife has not.

  • +1

    Need deal like this:

    amaysim ½ Price Long Expiry Plans: 1 Year 60GB $60, 6 Months 150GB $75, 1 Year 165GB $100 / $17.50 Cashrewards Cashback
    $45 Cashback on $75 amaysim 150GB 6-Month Expiry Plan @ Cashrewards (and $30/$45 Cashback on 12-Month Plans)

    • This might only be for new customers.

  • @tightarse If I buy two sim in two separate transactions, will I get X2 $35 from cash reward?

    • Correct. Please ensure you generate separate clicks/taps for each purchase.

  • Am I a new customer if I m with belong mobile ( Telstra too, albeit a lousier reception) and can I port my number in?

    • If you have never been a Boost Mobile customer in the past, then you are a new customer

      • huh? how about if few months ago? i think you are still new customer. its basically if right now you are not boost then you are new

        • -1

Once a Boost Mobile customer, always a past Boost Mobile customer. The ID system never forgets. Once you have lost your Boost Mobile virginity, there is no going back

          • @tharlow: So can this be activated by porting out to a non-Telstra provider and porting back in? I'm confused.

          • +1

@tharlow: huh then if i have been with them say 6 months ago, how can i join them again then ? because all the sim packs says new customers only? i dont think so. every company wants their ex customers to return

            • -1

@CyberMurning: Of course you are welcome to rejoin the Boost Mobile fold. As a previous customer, you understand it was a mistake to leave in the first place

  • Great deal TA. This deal should be available montly to suit everyone's different expiry dates. I would have 3 sims lined up.

  • Might wait until black friday.

    • Do you reckon black friday will be cheaper than this?

      • I am not sure this is a great deal. I would like to see what amaysim offer but may pull trigger on this one

        • but boost has full telstra? also call over wifi feature

          • @CyberMurning: True i am tempted. What's benefit of call over wifi? Never used it.

            • +1

@Jono258: Good deal, I'm about to buy my second year one now as my current one is expiring in 30 days.

        • +1

Happy using amaysim for my spare number past year from that awesome Black Friday cashreward deal!

  • Bring back the 12 month 300gb deal for $240ish.

    • Or get a dual sim phone and don't have to worry about that.

      • Have the work sim and my personal sim
Unfortunately boost doesnt have esim which is what my s22+ needs :(

  • +2

Thanks, any deals on Amaysim coming soon?

  • can i just buy this as a recharge to my current boost when the 12 month runs out?

  • I want to get the young bloke a sim, I wasnt looking at any data but just a number so we can reach him or if he needs to contact us. This looks like a deal, just wondering if there's something better suited. Thanks

    • Coles Mobile and Kogan Mobile regularly have sales for the 12-month plan for $99. Have a search here for plenty of discussions.

    • +2

Aldi pay as you go comes to mind….$5 in store or delivered & will last 365 days.
Turn off data so you don't burn through the credit.

    • We have an 'As You Go' Amaysim plan in an older phone as a backup for my wife's mother (who still has a landline).
It's $10 a year, which is good for 80 minutes of calls to landlines. Data is 5c/MB but of course, she does not use any.

    Anyone else having issues purchasing?

  • Anyone know if SMS can be received overseas using boost?

    • +1

      not at the moment

      • damn that sucks, looking for cheap plans to keep my number while abroad, and plus i dont use much data anyways

        • Kogan mobile does.

          • @TomGum: are you serious? they do call over wifi as well? so basically we turn on the feature on our mobile setting and then when connected to wifi overseas we can receive and make call, receive and send sms to australia number, all for free?

            • @CyberMurning: I went overseas and I was only able to receive sms only. It was useful as it helped with all my 2FA apps and websites.

              • @TomGum: thats good enough actually. we use other social media to communicate just receiving banks sms is important. hmm interesting

    • lots people said can

    • +1

Yes I was in Vietnam couple weeks ago and received texts. Really lucky actually because I need F2A for work.

      • It mean all authentication apps should work too (e.g. Google or Microsoft).. right?

        • Some banks only have sms.
Of course authentication app works… even offline

    • They can I was receiving mine throughout europe

  • If you bought the Motorola g82 from JB, get a $2 sim first in case they don't fit. I tried but it reconnect every few seconds.

  • I get an error every time I try this. I got the same on the previous deal for $170 with $35 cashback. I've chatted support, phoned them and tried on facebook. I even logged a complaint and they confirmed it was an issue on their side. The lady who dealt with the complaint said they'd do a new deal when they resolved the issue. Seems not. :-(

Anyone else having issues buying this? We already have multiple Boost sims in the family.

    DM

    • what kind of error… try what?

    • +1

I get all the way through then keep getting:

      SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG
We’re sorry but we’re experiencing technical issues. Please try again later.

      • I bought 2x SIM cards in two separate transactions in the last 10 mins and everything worked fine. The 2x $35 cashbacks have already tracked

      • Same here

      • didnt work on Chrome, tried incognito via Firefox and worked like a charm

        • was it the same error?
have you been a previous customer?

      • Thats the error I got with the previous deal and with this deal. I managed to buy 1 at $170 in the previous deal then it failed. Seems quite a few are getting this error. I've emailed a reply to my complaint from the previous time to ask them to investigate. I won't hold my breath.

I did try with my partners details as well and a whole new cashback account on a different laptop. The only consistent thing was the delivery address and it failed in exactly the same way.

      • I was getting the same error last night, about 4 times, I cleared the cache, cleared cookies, manually typed in credit card details (i.e. didnt use autofill for my credit card details), then it finally worked

  • +1

It's a bit weird that you have to provide your driver's licence or passport "for security reasons" when you order a sim card.

    • It seems to be a new requirement applied by Boost. It has always been a legal requirement to provide license/ID check when you ACTIVATE a sim, but not when you are simply purchasing one. At the time we buy the sim we are a Boost customer so I suspect that is how they are now enforcing the "new customer" requirement and so a simple sim swap (temporary port in/out to another provider) will not work anymore. Plenty of questions around this thread asking this but only uninspiring and illogical responses so far.

  • What Sim do ppl Sim hop between?

    • +3

anything that cheap. we have no loyalty remember? just like the providers, only providing deals to new customers

      • I used to play the catch 3 month to Kogan 90 day endless loop for a while

My yearly phone expense were less then some of my friends monthly charges

        • every 3 months is good i just cant imagine buying new sim hunting for deal etc every month.

  • -1

Bought a catch mobile seem to sim slut waiting for Telstra JB deal but doesn't seem like $500 voucher is coming back.

Can we please get some hint as to whether this will be cheaper on Black Friday? Otherwise gotta waste money on the catch sim porting out earlier!

  • -1

Don't need the sim (as a recharge) until January.

Wonder if I can buy now, activate (via chat as a recharge) in January, getting the 140GB and cashback?

  • Can someone please confirm the activation requirements. So it says sim needs to be activated within 30 days of purchasing. But the offer says need to activate before 28th Nov. If i activate after the 28th, will i still get the cashback offer as long as i activate within 30 days. And also what will the data plan be.

    • +1

ok here its confusing at first just the wording isnt that crystal clear i think:
30 days requirement = to get CASHBACK - nothing to do with boost
      before 28th = to get bonus 10GB total 140GB. after 28th you get 130GB
so yeah, just figure out the dates

      • Ah that makes it more clear. Cheers for that!

        • and please do not do it last minute and later create a thread why this that but i done it 5 mins before midnight

      • after 28th you get 130GB

not true. you still get 140GB.

  • So some are saying can add to existing/current account, others no…. would buy in a heartbeat if it can be confirmed from REP?
    They commented on last post.

    • NEW customer only. full stop.

      • Are you new if you port out and back in?

  • -1

hey tightarse, theres an error on your app for boost

  • Boost currently does not have International Roaming so don't buy it if you need to use your number overseas, for e.g. banking, etc.

    • but they have call over wifi ? which is free. and many has confirmed they received sms banks while overseas also free (when connected to local wifi)

      • Don't know when they reported but unfortunately it did not work for me about a week ago. I regret being with Boost.

    • +1

You can just use wifi calling and receiving calls, txt when you are overseas, don’t have to use international roaming.

      • When did you last use it? It did not work for me about a week ago so I could not authorize my banking needs.

        • Sep in the US, did you connect to a wifi and your phone support wifi calling?

          • @T-man: Yeah it is an iPhone 13 and I was in several Asian countries

            • @resmansg: A lot of people got it working via whirlpool. Check them out. https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/9xkk1ln3

              • @andyken: yeah but still there is one or two that say it didnt work for them, this is puzzled me really. probably boost know this is kind of random??? so they dont advertise openly? imagine if they put this big in the sim packaging, everyone in this country will get boost. free roaming, super!

                • +1

@CyberMurning: The people who it didnt work for was on pixel 4/6. A lot of people had success with iphone and samsung.

So I think you have a good chance of it working in taiwan.

  • Hey TA - will the $35 CR promo be going until the 15th as well? Just wanted to double check thanks :)

  • No benefits for being loyal.

    • When you ponder the hedonistic world we live in, it’s hardly surprising that the SIM sluts are having most of the fun

  • -1

Only get this for elderly. Otherwise 140gb for 12 months is definitely not enough nowadays.

    • You think so? What if we dont stream musics at all, but: occasional youtube, emails, whatsapp and gaming

      • -1

I have to lower all my data quality and still managed to use 20gb a month! It’s been 2 months since with my 280gb promo for $300 version.

Can’t imagine if all your videos n images are in high quality reso.

    • +1

Ah yes, let's all based what we buy on your internet usage XD

I have WiFi access at home and at work, so this is actually more than enough for me. In fact, looking at my current boost data usage, I have used 30GB with 140 days remaining.
