Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 256GB $1477 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Officeworks

770

Lowest price that I've seen it go so far.

Until more Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals come along.

Not sure if the iPhone 13 Pro or this is the way to go though.

Don't forget to pair it with this deal

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2022

  • thats a good deal. I'm eyeing off the ultra 512 GB. Current low for that is $1719.2 on Samsunge edu portal. I'm hoping this will equate to the 512 being in the $1500-1600 range so probably worth holding out as it avoids shipping timeas well.

  • +13

take my word and wait for jbhifi black friday. lol

    • Please tell me

    • JB catalogue is out. Not much better.

    • Care to elaborate on that? Sub $1400?

  • +7

    Paid less at launch.

  • Does anyone know if this model from Officeworks have dual (physical) sim?

The specification says: Dual SIM Compatible Physical + eSIM

So I am assuming it only has one physical SIM card slot.

    • +1

All Australian models have one physical Sim slot.

      • Thanks. Can you still have dual SIM: one physical and one eSIM active at the same time?

        • +2

Yup, you can have 2 active sims at the minute, 1 physical +1 esim. Can add as many esims.

      • Thanks for that :)

  • Not waiting for an s23 instead?

    • -2

      Not waiting for either !

  • S23 release , early next year

  • -2

Don't do it, s23U with its new chipset is easily worth the extra $500 or W.e you save on this deal, S22U chipsets are so phenomenally garbage.

    • You think the Snapdragon 8 gen 1 is a bad chipset?

      • +2

Yes, it's a terrible chipset. Samsung process is complete garbage and they're some of the worst chips in last few years efficiency wise which is key for mobile phones.

  • +2

With S23 around the corner, should wait

    • Will we see hardcore deals on S22 Base models on Black Friday or will they go lower early 2023 once the S23 is out?

      • Judging by the S22 launch deal, should just wait for the S23 …. you pay less, you get your preorder earbuds… and most importantly you get a new phone that is much more powerful (Strong new chips and 200M new camera lense, probably a lot more)

        • What are your predictions on the price of S23 base model during launch deals? I'm tempted to wait for the S23 now.

    • +1

      Around the corner…
There's ~100 days until the S23 is released.

  • +5

paid $1.3k at launch lol just wait for s23 launch deals

  • +3

This was not a good deal
    Launch pricing even undercut this

  • +4

I just went from an Oppo Find X2 Pro to an iPhone 14 Pro Max (being a long time Mac user I always wanted to try an iPhone) and I'm really doubting if it was worth it - and it cost more than 3 times what the Oppo did (which wasn't the latest model when I got it).

Any high end phone (say $1k up) is fine. It's a complete mugs game buying a latest release. Now I have it out of my system, I'll go back to getting a recently superseded (and a lot cheaper) one when this iPhone shows its age (hopefully not for a while).

    • You've made me sad.

I have just done the same but am waiting for Amazon to send a 13 Pro. Current phone is Oppo Find X3 Pro, great on paper, camera is excellent but the little niggling bugs have pissed me off to no end. Going to be a first time iphone user after 10+ years of Android.

      • +1

At least being the 13 you've not paid the full Apple penalty (although the 13's are still pretty expensive).

        • Got a 13 Pro 512gb for $1597 so a reasonably good deal….I hope?

  • +1

Still not as good as the S22 Ultra 512GB for $1067 :P

    • +1

      When where and why?

      • Office Works pricing error in July

  • +1

Got this model for $200 less on the Samsung Edu store a few months back.

It's crazy how long the S22 Ultra has retained value.

    • +1

Lets be honest though this price is hardly a deal.

  • Couldn't imagine spending money on a Samsung chip that's not Snapdragon, their usually always watered down in Australia.

Samsung and iPhone are the last phones I'd buy, could not imagine a phone to be no more then $800 on a phone, that's it unless it's so innovative that it turns into a gaming phone and a slr professional camera then yes I'll pay $1000

    • +1

      This is snapdragon

  • +1

Right now? iPhone has ridiculously better battery life, but I refuse to deal with the lightning connector.

I'm waiting. Next year Samsung will either fix this generations garbage efficiency, or iPhone will go USB-C because Europe's forcing them to.

    • Same. I will probably head towards Samsung from Sony (which has shit firmware support) if iPhone confirmed without any charge port or still lightning.

      • You mean Asus Rog has better battery life.

        • ROG looks fragile. Seen that on JerryRigEverthing.

          • @solacens: We got the:

            Legion y90
            Legion dual series
            Asus Rog 6/5/4/1
            Red magic pro
            Black shark
            Xiomai 12 pro

They all obliterate Samsung but you do you.

            • @LoserScott: Hope that next iPhone has type-c port so I don't need to struggle with this potential explosive.

        • Only if you don't use it for it's intended purpose, ever. It's also only a 20% gain on the ultra in capacity, not all of which will be accessible in practice, and for that you trade a lot of features (like 10x telephoto, proper waterproofing, etc) and have an even more gigantic brick of a phone. I'd rather get a slim battery case for the ultra.

  • Great price, used ones are asking the same on FB marketplace

  • Good price for the unit… But… not a great unit…
Almost pulled the pin on the 1tb version the other day to replace my Note 20 U5g… spec check… not worth it…

    +1 wait for 23!

    • What will the S23 price be and when will it come out?

      • $ Lots!
        When, soon!

        hahahhaha
Depends on the model. Prob around the same as the past release prices, maybe an extra $100 or so for the equal model at release I'd imagine.

        Due early next year sometime.

Is Samsung releasing a new phone in 2023?
The Samsung Galaxy S23 will probably be announced in February 2023. Not only are the leaks all pointing in that direction, but with the exception of the Samsung Galaxy S21 (which was announced in January 2021), new models in the range have consistently been unveiled in February for years now.

  • +2

interestingly the catalog linked is no longer available…

  • I got mine for $1000 refurbished, snapdragon model at last afterpay sale. Not the best deal imo. Is in mint condition with 1 year warranty.

  • Does any one know if this deal is still going ahead seeings the catalogue has being pulled?

  • Direct link, if anyone wants it…

  • Promote in this price, but no stock everywhere
    For what
    Totally bullshit
