  • +1

So now that I have bought it, what do we use it for 🤣

    • +3

      Linux ISOs, of course.

      • I bought Synology NAS this morning, would this work with it?

        • +1

I'm personally not using a NAS, but, I believe so. At most you might need to put some Kapton tape over the 3.3v pin - this will depend on the NAS you have. Might need to do a bit of searching or see if someone else chimes in on here.

          • @Goldfire: Got the DS920+ from here

            • +1

@Pricebeat: After a quick search, the shucked 14TB Elements drives work fine with the DS920+. I'd imagine that these 20TB Elements drives will be the same. Internally, they would be white label WD drives, but I'm unsure what these specific ones will be. Overall though, if they don't work, a bit of tape over the 3.3v pin should solve any issues. Many guides are online.

Older drives (such as the 8TB ones) were helium filled drives that reported as Ultrastar drives, whereas newer ones are air filled Ultrastars. I don't have issues with either, but the air filled ones definitely run a bit warmer.

              • +1

@Goldfire: Thanks for the info. Will try it, otherwise cheap storage i guess.

Only ordered 2 should have got 3

  • +4

2 mins after I purchase x3 4TB drives thinking I just won powerball, I see this, at that point I almost hurled my ozb purchased laptop of many years ago, against my ozb purchased smart lamp… I guess first world problems, but wow for anyone that gets this !!!

  • epic if this gets honoured.

  • +2

OK so what's next Amazon? 😂

  • How are you buggers ordering 2 or 3 drives, it wouldn't even let me add a single drive to my cart, arggghhhhhhhh

    • Tried twice??

Pro-tip: Setup your account details so you can one-click Buy Now button. No faffing around with Add to Cart and checking out on multiple pages for address, payment, shipping type etc.

    • -8

I was able to buy 4.

  • Amazon Australia didn’t honour some furniture that supposed to cost around $5k and were put for about $18 a few years ago.

But Amazon US did honour a Sony A6000 with a 16-55mm lens for $94.55

    • omg where was this deal

      • It was about 3 years ago, a lot of cameras were extremely cheap (all at $94.55 each)

        Found the link: https://slickdeals.net/e/13219096-prime-members-sony-alpha-a…

        • OMG, even I don't have any Sony inventories, it's still bloody good price under $100, even warrant to buy a more versatile Sony lens.

        • wow what a deal, I don't recall ever seeing it on ozbargain…

  • I am too late

  • HODR

  • +3

2000+ clicks in under 15 minutes. So I guess everyone is having a rager this Friday night.

  • Wow. It's a buy now think later kind of night!

  • +2

2 hard drives and a manfrotto stand just need a camera now

    • Lmao, I bought exactly the same stuff as you lol.

  • Thanks. Got one when I thought it was over.

  • +2

generally these errors are due to amazon's system automatically matching a competitor. Someone needs to find that competitor… I assume its a UK store.

    • Surely there algorithm would not be so stupid as to automatically price match well below cost price.

      • +6

Amazon's business strategy is to kill the competition even if it means taking losses.

      • +1

There was a recent one that priced match officeworks I believe. Can't recall which deal it was but way below cost price. Officerworks didn't honour if I recall correctly but Amazon did…

      • I guess you never saw the Appliances Online KitchenAid 'sale'

        • Haha , i was a beneficiary of it 😅😅 along with Bunnings DJI deal.

  • +3

    Ozbargain: Buy now, PayThink Later.

    • It is especially true for Amazon's buy now, pay when item sent, and cancel anytime before that…

  • pls no cancel

  • …i get off ozb for 1 hour and this… AND THIS!

    • +2

Can you bugger off again thanks? We will save you all the good deals…promise! ;)

      • Oh wow

  • Also can someone explain to me why the sudden high discounts for SSD, HDD, etc today? I know its sale season but some these discounts are way higher than normal.

    • pricing errors i think

    • Someone hacked Amazon UK.

    • The big ones are price errors, however non-error SSD prices will stay low as there is an oversupply of nand flash the market is working through.

  • Now back in stock for $692.89, I don't think any of the previous orders will get honoured unfortunately.

    • Jeff did say he was going to donate most of his wealth this year, maybe we might still get lucky :)

    • Link?

      • Basically just the same link in OP.

        • Says Currently unavailable

  • Managed to place an order for one but they are yet to charge my credit card. Hopefully they honor the purchase and don't cancel on me.

    • +3

They only charge once it's shipped

    • +2

Amazon charge on dispatch so it's not an indication. Yet.

    • +2

They only charge once they ship the product

    • +2

Mine says arrives 7th December. Paid with gift card.

      • +1

        Mine says 8th December.

  • +25

This is the worst thing that can happen on this site.
Now whenever a 20 TB drive is posted people will constantly say "it was previously $99".

  • Welp missed out on this one but able to grab the SN880 and the 4TB Portable HDD. Now the waiting game began.

  • Logged onto OzBargain too late :(

  • My first order has 'Not Yet Shipped' where the second has 'Arriving 7 Dec'.

Not sure why they're different, but any success more than zero delivered is a win

  • +5

This is what happens when I dont check OzBargain every 5 minutes. Miss out on the best deals :(

  • +1

hooowww didd i miss this :((((

    • same is happening on the portable 2 and 4TB deal, what a shame!

    • +3

Yeah my WD order got canceled

  • +23

Alright everytime there's an awesome deal theres some idiot that will ask chat if it will be delivered or not. Can you please for the love of god not contact the chat to ask about whether it will be posted FFS!

    • OzB noobs always ruin it for the OzB pros

    • 😂
