  • Hi OP,

Any discount on the 500/50 plan pls?

  • +17

    How does $113.90 sound?

      • +78

Would love to but we just cant get that low. The wholesale cost is just under $100 a month for NBN, and then we have to add backhaul to the POI as well as upstream bandwidth, the $3.90 per month on top of the $110 in costs is literally our only margin :( and then we have to carefully manage the consumption of our users.

        • +1

          That's okay.

          Thanks for information.

          • +1

            @sky6688: No problems.

        • +10

          Appreciate your transparency.
Just curious about the reasons why running a business for a tiny 3% margin??

          • +2

@Aussiecash: Yeah that’s a bit concerning. Bankruptcy 3 months in and having to change providers again doesn’t sound great.

          • +7

@Aussiecash: Depends on you your goals. Do you want to build a large enough customer base to become a target of a takeover or buyout or do you want to build a competitive profitable business? Do you want to provided a very competitive price on one product and attract users to another product/service with much higher margins? Etc

        • +2

More.com.au is running on a loss or CBA is paying them to cover the loss. Either way I'm paying them $83 for 250mbps

          • @BargainBuddy: They’re defs running on a loss. I have their 1000 down at $75 with the cba staff discount. I probs have the best deal in Australia ahaha

        • +5

Thanks for the transparency, it's really cool.

Can you tell us how you "carefully" manage the consumption of your users?

Do you throttle BitTorrent downloads? Does NBN charge you more when your users use more data?

What's the threshold in terms of GB/month at which you start loosing money per user?

        • How easy is it to configure an Optus modem for Zoom? Can you provide some link/instructions for that? I am looking to get the Black Friday 250Mbps offer for $93.9 and need guidance.thanks

          • @saad786: You just need to find the guide for your router to update the PPoE username and password.
            Usually very easy.

    • Is there a code for this?

      Interested pending the CGNAT situation.

    • Keen for this. Is there a sign up code we can use for this pricing?

    • I'll be keen for this

    • +1

What is the promo code to get the 500/50 plan for $113.90
I've tried BLACKFRIDAY500 and that is invalid as is the standard BLACKFRIDAY250

      • +1

what's the code for 500 plan

  • +1

Hi OP, do you publish your CVC capacity per POI like Aussie and Superloop?

    • +4

We're not quiet that advance YET but we are building this out literally as we speak. That and our app where you can manage plan, account, health check, port resets ETC.

      • Keen to give Zoom a try when you have this available :)

        • +6

Awesome, give it a week or 2 and we should be live. It's top priority for our dev.

  • -4

    Is this an epic deal?

    • +1

Nothing to do with. If you dont want it, you dont have to take it :)

    • +18

We can only work with the profile's NBN give us, if it was our own network it would look like 500/500 for $99 a month!

        • +11

          Yeah allrite mate

    • +1

      25mbps uplink??!

For less than $100 with 250 download speed it is OK because NBN charge a lot for upload speed.

      • +3

We can do 250/100 for approx $139 a month.

        • Great - do you also offer 500/200 and 1000/400?

        • That’s insanely good. Is it FTTP only or can this work on HFC?

        • Do you have Opticomm ?

    • 250/25 is the plan dictated by the NBN, go check any other ISP in the same price range and you'll see the same speed.

    • +1

Why do you think 25mbps is going to bottleneck the download speed of 250mbps? lol

      • +1

Old mate is worried about his torrents and is likely on part of a private group that requires a 1:1 ratio maintained.

  • +3

Your website isn’t rendered properly in Safari iOS with desktop mode. An initial chat page occupies part of the page, trying it to close it and then minimising is hard. Also there is no horizontal scroll and part of the left hand side of the site is not shown.

    .

    • +5

Thanks for bringing this up, i will note this with high importance to dev.

        • Ahh, very frustrating!.

          • +17

@[Deactivated]: It is the cancer called Safari that users of iPhones or iPads can’t get rid off. This is the new Internet Explorer.

  • +1

    Any 100mbps deals?

    • Also interested!

    • +11

It's coming soon, before friday. The 100 plans are getting slim. Looking like $74.90 for 100/20 and $84.90 for 100/40

      • +1

Would connection speeds for international and pings be good for Perth customers? Not too sure of the technicalities of tiers and things

        • We do intend to build out a perth pop in the next 3-6 months which could really help with that, but for now your data would be coming across the sandy plains back to Sydney. Which most providers are doing.

          • +5

@[Deactivated]: Hardly. Aussie Broadband, Superloop, Leaptel, Launtel are just a few off the top of my head that don't.

It's Interesting that you'd say otherwise.

      • Just a heads up OP, a similar discount code for 100 plan already works, not sure if you wanted it working already.

        • So what's the price of 100/20 plan with the promo code?

      • +1

At $74.90 price, it would be only $5 cheaper than your regular price for 100/20. Are you bringing any better deal for 100/20 plan?

  • Do you offer static IPs and if so, cost extra a month?

    Thanks!

    • +1

Yes we do, $5 per month can be selected upon checkout.

  • Would love to give you guys a go!
I dont know too much about those features:
    GSL Oneqode VNNI POI

Could someone let me know if thes features are good? Does say superloop or internode have similair features or are these above average?

Are there any deals on 100/40 or 100/20? or do you offer an upgrade path to fttp from fttc if we are eligible? Thanks

    • +3

GSL and Oneqode are who we connect with to the greater internet, both are known for their very good connectivity.

We are doing a 100/40 for $84.90 and 100/20 for $74.90 deal tomorrow and friday.

We can do the fibre upgrade aswell.

      • Thanks for the quick reply, just a heads up i think you have a typo on the mobile site. It shows 100/40 for 79.90. Still shows typical evening speeds 16mbs though

      • How do you do the upgrade "flip to fibre"? I am on fttc and can only select 100/20 plan.

        • I’d like to know as well. I am eligible for FTTP upgrade through current isp but can only select 100/40 on Zoom broadband website

      • Yeah also curious how you can do the fibre upgrade. I am on FTTN and nbnco looks like will be doing the upgrade end of 2023 for my area.

If I can speed that up somehow I'm interested to know how.

Currently doing 50/20 because 100/40 was only doing 85/40 most days so we figured to just drop down and save money.

But if you know of a way we can get 250 mbps down speeds I'm listening.

        DMS are open.

        • You can't jump the line for the free install of FTTP. Change from FTTN or FTTC to FTTP by Upgrading to a Faster Speed Plan (Select Locations) @ nbn co via Participating ISPs

          To get FTTP earlier you can;

          1. Request a $0 instant quote and pay nbn upfront for the FTTP install. This can set you back $2k-$50k.
          2. Check if you can get nbn enterprise ethernet. This is ordered through an ISP, $0 install for the most part and internet cost is minimum $400 a month for 100/100 on a 3 year contract. There are faster speed tiers and shorter contracts if you want to pay more per month.
          • +1

            @Twix: Cheers thanks.

Looks like my quote is $10,049.

And the nbn enterprise is not value worth it for me so looks like I am stuck waiting until the end of next year if everything goes to schedule.

            Thanks.

      • You can do the Fibre Upgrade?
        Mine says 'end of December'
        Can I sign up now?

  • +1

Can you do 250/50? And how would your latency compare to superloop when going to South Africa?

    • @zoombroadband?

    • Other people have asked i believe its not possible search thru comments

  • +1

    What about the NBN50 plan?

    • +1

At the moment our listed price of $59.90 for the 50/20 is the best we're going to be able to do.

  • Can I accept incoming connection?

    • We dont block, control, or throttle anything on net.

      • +2

        No cgnat?

        • +1

We do use CGNAT but we're building an OPT OUT function within our core network at the moment.

          • @[Deactivated]: Could you advise how long until implemented?

            • +6

@minimum-size: We're just waiting on a new IPv4 address range to mature (update with all the database providers) and then it will be ready, this process usually takes 2-3 weeks.

  • I’ll sign up tomorrow to 100/40. Thanks Shane.

    • +1

Awesome, keen to give you a service.

  • +1

Is it behind cgnat and if so can we opt off?

    • $5/mth if you want static IP, from the 1000/50 post

      • +1

I don't mind dynamic IP though since ddns solve that, as long as it's not cgnat so I could access my NAS/IP camera remotely. But fair enough for $5 extra

        • +5

If you're nas/ip cam is behind nat, take a look at tailscale, it's awesome

  • nice deal - aussie broad band is charging me $79.9 for 50/20 package.
    This is $20 cheaper.

    • +3

      Much better value over here

      • Thanks - i am coming over :)
do you have a deal on 50/20 as well? i don't have much use for higher speeds.

How long it takes to activate your service?
I can have both services (old and new) active at the same time (using different ports on the fibre box)?
I dont want to lose internet (wfh).

    • I’m in the same boat too, keen to go 250/20

  • Just letting you know, your front page shows the 100mbps plan as having 40mbps upload (16mbps typical evening speeds), however your CIS indicates it as a 100/20 service.

  • Nice pricing

  • +1

Great deal….. Sadly still waiting for the FTTP upgrade in my area 😒

  • +2

    Real IP or CGNAT?

    • Also want to know about this

      • +1

CGNAT, but we are creating an "OPT OUT" feature shortly.

        • +2

Do you have a rough timeframe for when that opting out feature would be live mate?

  • I have FTTC so I can’t get 250/25 according to your site. How do I get the upgrade and sign up?

    • +2

Sign up with Aussie for a month on 250/25 to get the upgrade to FTTP, then switch across after that

      • I just saw the OP say they can do the upgrade. But in the app it won’t let you order it if you have FTTC.

        • The upgrade is tricky, we need to open a ticket up with NBN manually after a service is active and request the upgrade to take place, for some reason NBN has no API around this yet.

      • +2

just a caution…if you use a provider to upgrade your premises to FTTP, you have to stick with them for at least a year. If you leave the provider sooner, you may have to cop $200-$300 depending how much NBN charges you.
