Nice service from the OP in this thread. Keep it up

    • +2

Trying my best! lots of browser tab's open

    • +5

Myrepublic is $89 for 6 months then $99 after that.

This is $93.90 ongoing so over 12 months and beyond this would be cheaper

  • What is your standard NBN100 rate? Thanks.

    • 100/20 we charge $79.90 per month

      • Do you offer 100/40?

  • +1

How much would 250/50 be with the deal?

Also, do you do you prorate the bill and refund the remainder if I decide to leave, or do I have to pay for the full month?

    • With the deal we are at $93.90 per month.

We charge pro-rata plus first month in advance, that would become your mininum commitment period.

      • Sorry. What's the price for 500/50 under this deal?

      • Does that mean you don't do a credit check?

      • +1

How do you get 250/50?! I can't see that option on website

      • How do you sign up for the 50mb upload part? Website only shows 250/25

      • Isn't that 250/25, and not the 250/50. Do you have the option for 250/50

      • Sorry, is that 93.90 for 250/50 as well, or just 250/25. Are you able to do 250/50?

I'm more asking if down the track I am unhappy and want to leave mid month, do you prorate then?

I'm keen to test you guys out, but I've been burnt before :)

        • We can only do 250/25. After your first subscription period (first month in advance plus the pro rata) you're just in monthly billing cycles. If you cancel on 15th of the month for example your service will terminate on the last day of that month to consume that billing cycle.

Does this come with the free FTTC to FTTP upgrade?

    • -2

op not answering me @zoombroadband :-(

      • +1

Apologies, missed this one! Yes, we can do the FTTC to FTTP upgrade for you no problems at all. Start by ordering a 100/20 service on the website, then let us know the plan you wish to go to via email to [email protected] we will then start the upgrade by opening a ticket with NBN. Once complete we will setup a new service on your new fibre and disconnect the old 100/20 service.

        • This is great. Will we still get the black friday pricing once we get bumped up to the 250 service?

        • I thought you need to be on minimum 250/25 plan to go FTTP. And what about the one off fee of $200?

          • +1

@roofyapple: You are right. 250/25 is the minimum for the FTTC to FTTP changeover. The $200 nbn downgrade fee may apply if you swap to a slower speed within 12 months.

            • +1

@Twix: Thanks so why was it mentioned by zoom to order the 100/20 to upgrade? Did I misread?

Edit-Ah never mind, I saw you answer below. Thanks

          • +1

            @roofyapple: I think i know what OP meant…

I put in my address that currently only supports FTTC and NBN100 is the max speed that is available to me on the website.

So the way it works is you order on the website for NBN100 then send the email to go to the higher tier.

Following - any deals for NBN 50/20?

  • I am looking to move. I got belong router and they have locked the modem, i.e. can't access PPPoe password setting under broadband. It's hidden. Which modem can buy. I have FTTN which means I need a DSL port to connect to NBN.

  • Why not use IPoE?

    • We're looking at moving our network over to IPoE as we speak.

      Shane

  • Hi OP. I only want to start my service from 12 December. Is that possible?

    • Sure is, once you order just let us know by emailing [email protected] immediately after ordering so we can pull it out of the provisioning queue.

  • Can you do $54.95 for the 50/20 plan? Or for 6 months at least?
Would jump over from superloop if you can.

    • +1

You can get that with More if you have a CBA debit card. Just call them and ask the rep.

    • Don’t most ISP do this price for the first 6 months? 12 months with More and Commbank. Or 100/20 for $49 for 6 months with Spintel.

  • Any deal on the 100/25?

  • -5

Sorry to be bad but I've had 250/25 TPG NBN for $84.99/month for ages

    • Can you get that price now as a new customer?

      • Don’t think so

    • Hay Phoebus, how'd you get that price? I've been with TPG for years and never seen it for that price.

    • Bad boy!

  • +2

Is it a PPPoE connection for HFC?

    Any IPv6 support?

    • Yep we use PPPoE for all connections, and we do dual stack v6 + v4

  • good deal, I'd have jumped the gun but I signed up with leaptel @ $109/m for 500/50 plan. Thanks @zoombroadband

    • No worries, maybe try us out in the future :)

  • actually pretty good deal

    • +1

Thanks mate, we're trying to do our best.

  • Are you guys in South Brisbane?

They're replacing the telstra velocity network here, just wondering how that fits in?

    • +1

Telstra Velocity is being changed to OptiComm FTTP. What is OptiComm Internet?.

Launtel, Leaptel, Aussie BB & Exetel are the better ISPs that service OptiComm estates.

      • Yep, Opticomm purchased Velocity estates a year or so ago. They're just upgrading it to Opticomm fibre.

        • Yea - my opticomm Panned Transition Window: 20/03/2023 to 23/03/2023

Do I need to wait for the window first? or can I move off now?

          • +1

@blehgg: You need to wait for the transition window.

Is Zoom Broadband in any way related to Epic Broadband or is in anyway connected to Jake Berry? I'm just being careful as I don't want to experience what happened before.

    • +6

They claim that they are not.

Here is Jake's ABN - https://abr.business.gov.au/AbnHistory/View?id=17590473793. Note the trading name of Commtek.

Here is Commtek's ABN - https://abr.business.gov.au/AbnHistory/View?id=49656107729. Note that for a short period of time this year it WAS Zoom Broadband PTY LTD.

Are they linked? Can't say for sure, but that's definitely one big coincidence.

      • +4

It's indeed a big coincidence. I think he's back from the ashes.

        • If in doubt dont sign up :)

        • +1

Enough of a coincidence for me to hold off signing up to a cheap internet provider that's only been around for a few weeks.

    • What happened before?

      • +1

The company was in financial trouble and keep taking in new customers at a budget rate. They were using Vocus before but haven't been paying so one day Vocus disconnected them and all their customers lost connection. Try googling Epic Broadband.
        https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/epic-broadband

Long story short, they charged their customers in advanced. They went bust together with their customer's money.

        • -6

Not affiliated but the story is a little different to what the media says. It has alot more to do with Vocus realising they made a bad deal and then revoking that deal from Epic.

  • +1

Do i need to cancel my existing internet after signing up or thing happen automatically?

    • +1

That depends on the type of NBN you have

    • For FTTP you will need to cancel, for others we will churn you across. Always best to check with your previous provider but to ensure your service has cancelled after you switch across.

      • How do you manage this to avoid downtime and to avoid 2 services from overlapping?

  • Telstra technicolor mediaaccess TG router works or need to get a new one?
How long to switch over after singing up? TIA.

  • Was there a discount for the 1000 down option? Trying to get my house mate to switch :)

  • Been looking to get onto Superloop/Tangerine. My house is eligible for the free FTTP upgrade and those two providers offers that.

Do you guys do the same? If not - I'd basically have to sign up with one of those guys and hop over to you guys in a few months?

    • +2

We do have quiet a few orders in place for FTTP upgrade, just order the 100/20 plan on our website, then once the service is active we can open a ticket with NBN to upgrade. Send us an email to [email protected] with your member ID and plan you want to upgrade to and we will get the ball rolling with NBN

      • +3

To be clear 100/20 is the minimum requirement for FTTN to FTTP.

250/25 is the minimum requirement for FTTC to FTTP.

        • +1

          Correct

  • What model is the modem?

    • If you are replying to my question, it's Technicolor DJA0230TLS.
      Thanks

      • Ah, not sure. I'd like to know what the modem is for $149 on their website.

        • +1

We're using the TP Link VX230V modem

  • Loving the transparency. I am very interested in this deal.
Can I ask why uploads are always so low (with all ISPs not just yours). I would imagine this is a limiting factor from NBN.co but am not sure why.

I would personally prefer = uploads to downloads.

    • Yes it is how the NBN sells their CVC because apparently download speed is what people want the most.

    • I beleive it should be 1:1 that would be the best scenario.

    • We're probably being held back by the worse technologies on the nbn's MTM too. Upload speeds were pretty bad on cable plans (100/2). Plans are probably being built and limited by the constraints of FTTN and HFC to make them look less bad.

  • Anyone know if we lose Telstra Plus points if I port out from Telstra NBN?

Dont have any other active services with Telstra.

    • +1

      No you won't

  • Any deal for 100/20 plan, mate?

    • There is some discussion of it in the comments here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/739835

      • Potentially, it wont be much but. The 100 plans are very slim as it is.

  • How would this compare to Aussiebroadband fellas. Im on 100/20

    • +2

      It will be 150/5 faster

      • What spaceflight said :)

  • Hi OP, Do you do a credit check? I just found out that some ISP's do this… dont want my credit getting pinged for internet connections … will mess up my churn and burn with CC's

    • Nope no credit checks as we charge in advance, if the service doesnt get paid, it terminates after 3 payment attempts.

  • +1

Heads up, it really looks like the 4 reviews on ProductReview right now are fake, because the accounts share similar profile pictures and all reviews were posted the month before the business name and ABN were registered.

Shane, as posted on ProductReview I'd recommend you investigate and get in touch with PrtoductReview if this wasn't Zoom. If it was, however, that's a huge red flag…

    All the best.

    • Good point mate, i know we have flagged this with Product Review recently. We have asked them to remove also.
