Motorola Droid RAZR (Black) XT910 16GB $345.70 Shipped from Kogan

60
CARBONTAX

Update: JBHI has the phone for $388 - on backorder, or in store if you are lucky. The main advantage of JBHI is that you get the full 24 month warranty.

Update 2: Mobicity has now lowered their price and has free shipping using the code FREESHIP0307

Well this is certainly the cheapest I have seen this phone. If you know of any cheaper grey import, please let us know.

It is $329 + $19 shipping - $2.30 infamous carbon tax discount = $345.70

Many people would prefer the Galaxy Nexus over this phone - but they are very similar. GN has a better screen resolution and NFC (not particularly useful in Australian at the moment). RAZR has an micro-SD slot and Gorilla Glass. For me, I'm happy with the cheaper one.

Kogan website says that it is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but I believe there is now an offical update to 4.04 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Specs shamelessly lifted from previous post:

RAM: 1024MB

  • A useful review of the comparison between Galaxy Nexus and this one: http://www.motoringcrunch.com/news/mobile-tech/11171-samsung….

Personally I would prefer to Galaxy Nexus.

People just need to be aware that this the RAZR not the MAXX so just disregard the bit about the 3300mAh battery. I agree that if they were both the same price, the Nexus would generally be the preferred phone.

great phone, but dont listen to the specs that say "water resistent" and that's how i ended up with a HTC One X

  • Isn't the carbon tax supposed to increase the price?

    • +1

Yes, but I can't imaging the Carbon Tax will effect Kogan at all. I included it here because…well…I'm not going to say no to a $2.30 discount on something I'm buying anyway.

  • Nice price for a very cool phone with a couple of unique features. Would've bought this if I hadn't just got a couple nexus's a few days ago….

  • 4.3” Super AMOLED according to the link.

  • I purchased this from Kogan a month or so ago for $368inc shipping and my wife is very very happy with it, also ics is coming out for it (rolling out in US already)and you can add SD cards… screen is very nice and build quality i think is quite high .. i wanted an ICS phone but didnt want some 4.8inch beast of a screen or a quad-core processor in it and this was exactly something in between for hundreds cheaper. :)

For the sake of $40 I would buy the genuine Australian stock with 24 months warranty.

If your a business you can claim the GST which will bring the cost down closer to Kogan, plus get the above other benefits.

    • That's actually a really good deal for the 24 month warranty. Free shipping too. But there is a bit of a wait, no stock at the moment. Hopefully some stores have stock.

  • Isn't MAXX sold in Australia?

I used to have a Nokia E71, which needed charging like every week or longer. I used to lose chargers because I couldn't remember where I had left them a week before.

With these smart phones, charging everyday is a hassle.

    • I would agree, the E63 is similarly good with the battery life, although I like the bigger display which sadly uses more battery juice. ATM on lookout for something decent.

Where can I get a MAXX? I would pay $100 more over the RAZR.

  • Apparently this phone have the highest radiation levels than any other smart phone
