Was very disappointed with Black Friday Sales on this model TV until I found this deal.

Close to the lowest ever price with the 12% cashback from Cashrewards. Works out to be $4450. Cashback for Sony excludes GST amount.

For an even lower price, is it possible to price match with VideoPro on the Sony website, then use the 12% casback?

You're right Black Friday deals have on average been pretty poor

    • Always has been. Our sales should be for Boxing day but slowly you get sale creep to other world events.

Do people use the inbuilt camera on the tv?

    • +1

You can use it to detect things like if you are actually sitting in front of the TV and where you are sitting, how far away you are.
Apparently itdoes things like turn the TV off if it doesn't detect your presence after a short period of time to mitigate chances of Burn-in etc.
It's more a tool then a basic camera.

      The TV is watching you!

      • Yep, would probably want to cover the camera when watching Netflix and chill…😅

    people still watch TV?

    • -1

The majority of people have large screens in their house, yes.

  • Too expensive for a 65" TV nowadays.

  • I planned on getting a credit card w/ 0% interest for 12 months just for this TV.
Not sure if I should pull the trigger now or see if it's cheaper at boxing Day sales.

  • QD-OLED is flagship now but look at the S95b. This panel is meant to be in every TV Samsung display can find a customer for. This is meant to go head to head with LG WRGB and win on quality and cost off the bat. Its not unobtainable Sony technology.

The argument as to why the A95K is a more viable product than the S95B is that the Samsung Display has an Auto-dimming feature to reduce Burn-in likelihood, which does take away from the overall HDR quality due to lower brightness.
Yes you can turn it off but it can void your warranty.
The A95K has a heatsink installed I think which means this Auto-dimming feature isn't needed.

  • I just bought one from JB Hi-Fi in-store over the weekend and was able to price match it to VideoPro's price of $4880. https://www.videopro.com.au/product/sony-xr65a95k-65-bravia-…
