Quick guys, lets overload the server before the deal even starts so that we can all rage about server downtimes tomorrow.

  • -8

This deal isn't valid, shows up as $20

    • Perhaps you should try reading the description.

Starts July 5, 2-3PM. Will not work until that time

      • +1

Perhaps you should try reading the description.

… or even a few of the 50 comments or so before his.

  • +4

Next person who cries that the deal is not valid or the item is not free…

Lets all tell them to enter 'the code'.

  • +14

So I am the only one who neg this Mwave deal at the moment. They have a Rep here but choose to ignore questions about stock quantity. Their crappy server most likely will fail tomorrow and people will waste their time again (I'm sure I won't be). This kind of shocked deal is a tactic to advertise and get people to Mwave website and it has been used before.

Lastly, deal is only good when people can get it.

    Here's a little reminder again:
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/65184

    • It's a FREEBIE. Asides from a little investment of your time, there is nothing else for you to lose by clicking a link and ordering the product, is there?

If you don't like Mwave, just close this window and pretend this deal doesn't exist.

Lastly, deal is only good when people can get it.

That deal had over 9000 clicks. Do you expect any business to have a server farm large enough to handle the massive spike in traffic? Or have a stock count system that can handle a hundred orders at once?

      • +11

Yes scrimshaw, I don't like Mwave and their tactic using this kind of shocked deal to get traffic, that's why I'm negging and i don't want to pretend it doesn't exist.

It's only free if people can get it, for thousands of other people, it's time wasting.

Still no info about what sort of stock quantity people can expect

        • +2

COTD is a perfect example. I remember going through the checkout process within 20 seconds of the hour for one of the deals, yet it was somehow already sold out. Although, this deal will probably be worse, seeing how it's free.

        • -2

their tactic using this kind of shocked deal to get traffic,

If their "tactic" generates so much bad press and negs on Ozbargain, I doubt it is their intention to mislead / bait you with this offer.

It's only free if you can get it, for thousands of other people,

I'm not sure why you are raging so much and being hung up on not getting one, then proceed to accuse Mwave of being unethical. There is a limit on everything and there are logistical issues in catering for so many people at once.

        • +6

I doubt very much that their target audiences are Ozbargain people.

I'm expressing what i think about Mwave and about this deal calmly. Yes, i got stung by them once along with thousands of other people so i think they are being unethical.

They still have not released their limit for this deal.

          Please quote my full sentence.

        • +2

Well they should tell us their approximate level of stock so they don't waste my time again. But presumably this would reduce the amount of publicity this promotion could generate (because their stock level is probably something like 2 units if their router deal was anything to go by), so of course they withhold this information.

      • +2

Leaving freebie outside the equation now just a minute here.
(supply should = demand; no more & no less being preferred.)

Did you upvote this deal as you genuinely are in market sourcing Noise Isolation Earphone, scrimshaw. Or is it you would rather compete against increased thousands of people being directed to this (free) form of advertisement?

I would be naive to believe 1-% of these orders will be satisfactory fulfilled.

Time wasting does appear a valid point.

    • As far as i can remember at least more than 50 people got their free cisco modem.
If you dont have time then dont go for it. It's that simple.
what rep are you talking about?
The Ritesefy guy up top is not a rep.
      Their rep isnt even online.

      • +3

They have reps here highdealer and they have posted deals in here before.
        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/56547

        • -4

yeah but how are they suppose to answer question if they dont know about this page?
Did you send the rep a message asking how many are instock?
If no one ask, how can you claim they are being close about stock level.

        • +3

Already sent a private message to them, there are also a few people asking for stock level up top.

  • -1

Neg until stock levels are confirmed by a rep, and they are satisfactory (aka a few hundred or more).

EDIT: If only I could neg.

    • come back tomorrow @2.05pm and you'll have a valid reason to neg! :)

      • If only I could neg :(

  • +2

Not worthy of your time. In last RUSH HOUR I spent more than one hour buying a cheap router from them. The payment was processed but they said the router was sold out and refunded. Worst of all, mwave kept sending spam to my mailbox and I ended up adding it to blacklist.

    • I spent more than one hour buying a cheap router from them. The payment was processed but they said the router was sold out and refunded.

you're not the only one…some worst case people had to chase it up with the refunded and won't let them bite twice
i'm not surprise if this deal get 30+ -ves by 5pm tomorrow :)

      • +1

more like 6000 negs!….if no one gets a pair

  • +1

    BTW this only worth $5.34 @OW http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/search/logitech+ue100
so don't believe their BS price thinking you get 20ish free item

  • -6

    mwave…

    nuff said..

    • Maybe tomorrow

    • I'm sure whoever have ordered something from them and trying to speak to a human not an IVR prompt once the order was made is nigh impossible.

  • +2

This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it.

    • Die Hard 2?

      • Hunt for Red October.

        • I was close - right actor, wrong movie.

  • +1

So let me think, is it really worth wasting your time and getting your hopes up for some earphones that are worth $5?

    hmm….

    • Well I did warn everyone haha, but I still bet you, people are gonna come back here whining tomorrow.

    • I think I can spend 30s on it.

  • +4

I've become only the 2nd person to -ve this deal.
Oh you OzBer's of short memory - was it not only 2 months back that this same crowd had us all sitting at our PC's for a one hour deal trying to score a router that proved to be non-existent, despite loads of us getting 'confirmed' orders?
I ordered also, then got the cancellation 24 hours later.
Let's face it, this deal is going to be crap, the website will go down, everyone will be moaning and groaning and spending a whole afternoon pouring their personal contact details down the tube to Mwave, who are the winners.
The only plus to be had was the fantastic sight of all those OzBer's having a feeding frenzy in the vain hope of trying to secure a freebie - Fantastic!
So, go for it guys, hit their website, make it crash, have a lot of fun posting frustrated comments, but please don't give Mwave your innermost details, for that is what they are after….

    • Oh you OzBer's of short memory

      excluded me :)

    • If the Road Runner cannot resist Free Bird Seed, what chance do OzB’s have?

  • AEDT 2pm = Perth 11am???

  • I gotta say, i am worried already and i have never tried one of the MWAVE specials before.

  • The cheapest besides the promotion is $4.01. can be picked up at any officeworks store, as long as its still available or get it delievered for an extra $5 depending on your location.

  • Any deals for hoodies? I will need it to cover my ears while wearing this.

  • +1

Regardless the stock level, they dont know first-in first-served. And they were very rude to customers in email and ignored questions. So dont be surprised if any bad/"unlucky" things happen this afternoon.

  • +1

Save yourself the hassle, spend $23 and get a pair of far better headphones without wasting an hour of your life: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/74104

    • Spend? You need to throw some hot coffee on your face.

  • -1

I thought we had to wait until the deal was on in order to post it. How come this is up so early?

    • You're thinking of a group buy deal
