It is a genuine deal, however (1) stock would surely be limited, and far less than the demand (2) their server resource would not be able to handle the influx of traffic — both are not easy tasks to solve. After all, the reason we are so frustrated is because we all want to grab a freebie (hence crashed their servers). Having them banned would mean that NONE would benefit, whereas at least some people got through the order form today.
I disagree. Banning future deals from this terrible company will prevent people from wasting over an hour of their precious lives for absolutely no benefit.
If anything, these promotions generate an extremely negative view of the company, and they are more likely to lose customers than to gain them. Don't understand why they even bother.
Dandere: No one made anyone in this thread waste an hour of their lives. In life you make choices. If you choose to try for an hour to save $20 on a pair of headphone, good luck to you. If you choose to spend $20 on a pair and buy them in less than 5 mins, that's also fair enough.
I think if such deals are placed in future they MUST state how many are available. There's no need for the mystery and to me it casts both them, and yourself in a bad light for allowing it to happen.
At least putting the number available up gives people a fairer idea of whether it's worth wasting their time for the low probability that they will get something.

that'd be great, however, I suspect, OzBargain will be deserted by many advertisers.
Most genuine "bargains" are loss leaders - (very) small quantities sold at below normal or cost price for purpose of attracting customer to shop-fronts to pay normal or inflated price for other items - something that genuine OzBargainers won't do.
If the actual number of such "bargains" was really known, reality will be obvious and there would be fewer non-OzBargainers trying to obtain them, hence, less (non-loss leader) sales, less custom hence less advertising.
Playing in OzBargain is like visiting a casino - for the uninitiated, there's a perception of a big win, but statistics show otherwise.
I got one. Mind you, it took around 40 minutes until I could actually see that my order was confirmed.

Why the hell are you people asking mwave to be banned? They've done nothing wrong here. You really expect them to have a million of these in stock so all of you guys can grab one? Don't think so.
It's your mistake not learning from the past. On the first page, one of the guyse linked the previous router deal which ended up in the same fashion. This was obviously going to be worse, seeing as its free.
Didn't even bother, knew its not worth the hassle for $5 which you will most probably not receive anyway.
Most people here are just over-reacting, they don't get a freebie and then think it is the company's fault for not having enough to cover for everyone, or that the servers were somehow rigged to crash so that your orders don't go through. Their response is to "ban the bastards, just because I didn't get my freebies".
And the in the extreme, they accuse Mwave of collecting information and spamming their inboxes. You know you can actually unsubscribe, right? You also had plenty of time beforehand to setup an account, login and then disable the email subscriptions before the bargain started.
The sense of self-entitlement I see in some of these posts are just whimsical to read. I don't suppose in real life, do you moan and groan to the salesperson when they run out of freebies to give out? But on Ozbargain, crap like this happens.
the exact thing happened with the DSE games sale in April, every man and their dog were threatening to ban DSE and never visit again. Guess what? The next time DSE had a great deal no one remembered a thing.

I fail to understand why this is a great success here at OzB after seeing a huge number of negs and unhappy people compare to a small number of people who actually got the deal.

What I found worse, and you didn't mention are the failures. Getting to the final "place order" screen after a long time - then getting an error and your site turfed us back to the beginning again. Repeat a number of times until you close up, even for people already in the queue.

I bought the UE200 for about $6 delivered http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/63813 so I am not sure if worth it was worth trying. I presume the 200s are better than the 100s.

Humm another flop by mwave. Rep has suddenely appeared out of nowhere. They were no where to answer questions before. I am sure all those who got it also had a lot of anxious moments for like 40 mins trying to score a deal. So does the time wasted make it a worth while deal or not? I value my time, and any time wasted is negative. So it is negative.

It seems to be the case. Contacted mwave with my tracking number and got the following response "Unfortunately if you do not see it in your account under My Orders then you may have missed out this time."

I only tried ordering at 2:45pm, and never finished putting the order through (was slowly progressing through the steps, but stopped at the final stage. I only reached the final stage at around 3:10pm).
Yet waiting for me when I got home was a pair of headphones.
