3720

Just received a $10 voucher because my birthday is definitely in December. Each voucher lasts for 28 days after the issue date and can be used for pretty much anything in-store or online.
Please refer to the previous post for more information.

Please note: If your birth month has passed or you’re adding your birth month within the same month then you will not get your Birthday Perk until next year.

Don’t want your free $10? Add it to the Code Request Megathread here (thanks to lluvfreebies)

    • Please note: If your birth month has passed or you’re adding your birth month within the same month then you will not get your Birthday Perk until next year.

  • My account got blocked from using some of these perks codes over the months. I emailed back to query the cancellation and here is the response. I might just go with in store orders from now on.

    Hi ,

We have conducted a review of your purchase history with JB Hi-Fi Online and have identified that you are in breach of our JB Hi-Fi Perks terms and conditions.

Our website's terms of sale allow JB Hi-Fi without limitation to cancel orders (refer clause: 7.1). As such, we will be cancelling the orders that are currently in progress. We will also process a refund today back to your original payment method. Where you have paid for your orders via gift card, you will receive a separate email with replacement e-card.

We advise you not to place any further orders with us, as we will not be accepting any future orders from you.

    • How many perks order did you make? Were all the items $10 or under so free?

      • Probably made 3 in the last two months, all under $10. Also used the codes provided by the other accounts, so that may be something they see, like excessive use of the perks coupon?

All I can say is be careful. I'm not too fussed with the online account anyway, though I hope they blocked it or something rather than automatically cancelling any order I made.

        • Many ozbargainers would probably have used 3 vouchers too. The replacement gift card is a contradiction when JB is not accepting future orders.

          • @trixieb: No idea why mine was flagged then. They were quite vague as well especially mentioning that clause 7.1. I just assumed it was the excessive use of the perks coupon (i.e. using someone else's coupon) because that is definitely I was guilty of. Probably not worth contesting either, after all I just get freebies I don't need like mugs.

            • @TheTaxMan: Yeah that doesn't make sense unless they can see you have multiple accounts?

3 orders in last 2 months is nothing… I have 3 from just 1 month.

              • @CodeXD: Possibly, not too sure. Should have used fake residential addresses I guess. There's always something you get caught out with.

                • @TheTaxMan: Curious reading this, and checked out what clause 7.1 is:

"that only one account may be created per person. If you create more than one account we may terminate any additional accounts created by you without notice, and any offers, benefits or coupons issued to such account(s) may not be redeemed; and"

Well, if you've used unique codes belonging to other accounts then looks like they have grounds to cancel orders and block. Wonder if it will also flow back to accounts who shared the code too.

But wow…JB is actually cracking down 0.o This will probably kill off code sharing mega threads for JB Perks vouchers.

                  • @Gnilgorf: I think it is more towards a user has multiple accounts rather than sharing of code.

                    • @CodeXD: Just to be clear though, I have multiple accounts but only placed orders on one account (the one that's been flagged). Probably have the same name and address on those, but I don't use them to place orders so not sure if that makes a difference.

If anyone else had orders [immediately, less than 3 minutes] cancelled after using a code, please do share for data collection.

                    • @CodeXD: Aye, agree that it was intended to catch those using multiple accounts.

Though from JB's perspective, all they see is one account using codes from multiple accounts, irrespective of whether that account belonged to the same person or a fellow ozbargainer. Hopefully it doesn't have any blowback and cause any headaches for anyone sharing their codes, though the wording of the clause allows for it.

Anyways, guess this is a precautionary tale for the future. Keep orders and accounts separate. Heck even when in store & using a perks code, and they ask for your mobile number…

@freezingpoint Welp, that would do it~ XD hopefully your other accounts are still active and still receive codes.

            • @TheTaxMan: Because you used promotional coupon codes issued for other accounts which was never meant for the account you used it on. It's so simple to come to that conclusion why it was flagged. Must have been a real excessive breach too to be life banned. I guess you got big time greedy. Now you paid the price of it being banned for life from JB online.

        • Also used the codes provided by the other accounts

          That's why you got flagged.

          • @ShouldIBuyIt: Thought most ozbargainers did that. Probably a random audit.

            • @trixieb: Likely as i used more than 1 of those codes and no such email received from jbhifi.

In saying that. I only have one perks account though.

        • -1

So you used promo coupon codes that were issued to other accounts?. They could probably tell that the coupon code was never issued for the account.

That may be why your account was banned. It must have been in quite an excess for them to catch on to the breach. Always use a promo coupon code on the account which it was issued for. Well that was a big mistake for you to make. Now you can never buy from JB online again.

          • @hollykryten: Plenty of people shared their perk code and others used it without any issues, some codes were even used by multiple people.

            • @CodeXD: It doesn't mean that their accounts won't yet get flagged if they keep doing it. It happened to freezingpoint so it could also happen to any one doing it if purchase history audited.

              • @hollykryten: Well, I just read through the replies and no, I'm not as greedy as you think lol.

Problem solved, just create a new account without the perks, then let all those perks voucher come in on the other accounts. Rinse and repeat, I guess. Not that I'm going to do it.

Banned for life made me laugh because they only banned the account.

@USER DC Get a new number from Cashrewards Boost deal and sign up again

          • @trixieb: Do you just use the boost deal for a month and then let it expire?

            • +1

@CodeXD: Yes. I used Boost for the first time last month. Just expired. There is a Boost deal $3 profit from Cashrewards currently.

  • Welp I was banned guys. I've used about 4 codes amongst 4 accounts, this time I tried to cash in a "birthday" code and got flagged. Maybe because I used the same card. Won't be playing the JB Hi Fi game again any time soon, it was stuff I didn't really need anyways, and going to different stores to click and collect is a hassle. So long everyone :)
