Can confirm both using directly or buying food dollars in Liven is categorised under Fast Food Restaurants.

      • Is this through Google/Apple pay or did you manage to add the Restaurant Choice card directly to Liven?

        • I checked Liven's MCC using some other visa card I have, though to use the Restaurant Choice card, you will likely need to use it through Google/Apple pay, as Liven tries to do an authorisation before adding a new card.

Just bought. Here are some warnings.

Lots of steps and lots of info required. Plainly they are selling your data.

Far from seamless; lots of verification codes needed and they didn’t always work.

Adding to Apple Wallet also a pain; you have to do it manually.

Will try using it tonight at a fancy restaurant, and report back. Even assuming it does work it’s almost not worth the hassle.

    • +1

I have to agree with you, took me few minutes just to add 1 card to my Google wallet.
So many hops to go through

    • +2

I dont know, 5 mins for $45 discount (if you buy $300) seems worth it to me.

    • Holy @#%$ what a pain in the butt.

You have to do it for all cards, can't just login an add.

And the stupid animation that plays when you open the link is just a waste of time.

    • +1

So, I didn’t try it at the restaurant as planned, but it worked this morning for a $100 charge at Bill’s Double Bay. On balance, worth the (substantial) hassle.

  • I keep getting the error when trying to add the card to apple wallet, did anyone get the same issue?

    • Me too, ‘contact the issuer’

Has your issue been resolved yet?

  • Seamlessly added to Google Wallet, YMMV.

  • +3

I can add to Google Wallet but need to verify card online by entering CVC code, then an error occur. Can I still use the card via Google Pay then ?

    • I have got exactly the same here, hoping it can be still used for tap payments

  • I am with Google Pay now and they said I have to contact the bank to assist me allowing the card to be added to Google Pay. Anyone got the same response ?

  • +2

To add your card to Apple, Google or Samsung Pay wallets, use the ‘add card manually’ feature on your devices digital wallet, enter the Card Number, Expiry Date and CVV of your card, and then the name, address and telephone number used for your cards registration.
We are actively working on resolution to the ‘Add to wallet’ feature and hope to have fixed soon.

    We apologies for the inconvenience

  • Anyone tried adding this card to Eatclub/using it with Eatclub Pay?

    • +3

Yes I have tried and it works fine

      • Can confirm I successfully used it today.

    • Yes! Works for me too. Good stacking here.

  • Can’t add to Apple wallet automatically or manually then how can you use it as a method of payment?

  • Interesting that TCN Restaurant Card and Restaurant Choice both have Richmond, Victoria contact information. Any chance they are the same “company”?

I’m also having problems adding my Restaurant Choice to Apple Pay. I tried to add it manually, and Apply Pay said it was added to my Wallet but I can’t find it. When I tried to add it again, I got a message saying that it was already added. I’m contacting Apple to resolve.

  • So this should work with domino's ,Coles ,woolies? Could see the selection just some posh restaurants in Perth would come ouup on mine so far

    • +1

I bought and used this yesterday at Domino's by tapping it at the counter through Google Pay. Not sure why you would think Coles & Woolworths would work though, I would think they are classified as Supermarkets and not the merchant types listed in the deal description.

    • I also tried to use it at the Coles self serve coffee kiosk in the hope that the POS terminal was defined as one of the acceptable merchant types but it was not. Otherwise works great in most places (tap and go).

  • +1

    Thanks OP
Bought one just then to try and paid for dinner without a hitch!

  • +4

FYI if you have a $250 Coles Mastercard, just put in the custom value of $294 and after the code PERFECT15, it will reduce it by $249.90. Worked for me just then.

For $100 Coles Mastercards, you can try $117 (I did not try decimal points in the Restaurant Card custom amount field but you can try to get the extra few more cents by going for $177.64).

I then added it to the Blackhawk "My Prepaid Centre" account I already had and then saved the card to my Apple Wallet manually onto my iPhone and then onto my Apple Watch as it just asked me and I only needed to say 'Yes'.

Overall pretty easy to set up.

EDIT: Also just did it for a $250 Vanilla VISA Gift Card as well.

Same with good food gift card, worked at most of the cafes and restautants, even though not listed at website. I think as long as they are registered as restaurant, it should be fine, but I did have issue using it in fast foods

    • Really?! This is great news as I was recently gifted these as a present and found using them very limited in Victoria. I had not tried it anywhere except for Five Guys (Southbank) and so after that rejection I didn't dare try anywhere that was not on the official list.

      • but was that a physical or digital card? It is the digital version that is more versatile

        • Mine is Physical. :-(

  • I bought several cards last month with the 20%off deal but fail to add in my apple wallet… Is anyone facing that issue too? really don't know how to deal with that.. I have contacted with the customer service several times but their suggestions are useless…..

    • You can add the card to apply wallet manually, just enter the card number/CVV etc. shown on myprepaidcentre as normal.

      • Doesn’t work for me.

      • yeah add in wallet manually is the only way to use the digital cards, but it just keep showing fail to add the card…

        • Same here, spent over 2 hours this afternoon but still unable to add the card to apple pay.

          • @Imposter: Just to confirm, you:
            1. Went on your iPhone to the 'Wallet' app
            2. Clicked on that little PLUS sign on the top right to add in a new card
            3. At the screen where it is trying to use the camera to scan in a card, you select add in a car manually option on the bottom of that screen
            4. Enter in the Account Name, CC details etc then click ADD
            5. Optionally ass in Apple Watch access (if you have one)

Which one of these steps did this fail for you?

  • Love the concept and was ready to buy but being a Sydney Northern Beaches resident, there are very limited restaurants listed. Am I missing something with the statement ‘accepted everywhere’ but then only a set list of supported restaurants are supported on the website?

    • +1

      physical cards are limited,
digital work anywhere the visa machine is in one of the listed categories, so pretty much any correctly setup machine

      • Says places that accept VISA,
        I assume all places does?
Is there a place that only accepts Mastercard and no Visa?
        Thanks

  • NAB has blocked my entire card after attempting to buy these. hope i dont miss out

    Works on Doordash

    • do you add it as if a credit card for Doordash or can you select Google Pay/Wallet etc?

      • used as a credit card

  • +2

Used the card for this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/740667 and it went through

  • Would this work for my Fitness first gym membership?

    • I want to know about this too!

    • These MCCs give people wet dreams!

    • My gut feel is yes, give it a go

      • I've bought 4 hoping this will work. I can confirm it's worked on a Zap membership!

        • Interested in this as well. just wondering how you would use this digital card for fitness first. I thought payment was through direct debit only

  • I bought one as a trial. I had to manually add it to my apple wallet. It appears as a blank white. Theres no information as to the card number ir anything. Id like to buy more but i dont know how to keep track of them if they are blank. I dont like having to go to a whole other web page to check
    The balance

    • I have the same with a message below it saying it is activated. Have you tested it in a restaurant to see if it works? You can get the balance by registering it in their my prepaid centre do I don’t think that is too big a problem.

      • Mine was blank as well and did not work at Laurant (bakery) when I went in to get some bread and a croissant.

        • Would that not work at a bakery anyway?

          • @povertytrap: That was why I was surprised it did not work for me. Not sure if it was because it was 'BLANK' on my iPhone or not.

            • @danielh: Took an 85 cent hit for the team and tried to buy a cone at Maccas from the blank white card in the wallet. Glad to report that it worked. The transaction is also recorded in the wallet. Happy days.

            • @danielh: Mine was blank too. I tried at a sushi store but did not work. the phone did not respond at all with the blank card. was your transaction declined or no transactions at all?

            • @danielh: UPDATE. The blank one worked for me at another place. I guess it is dependent on if the POS terminal is really set up with the corresponding merchant codes.

              • @danielh: That would still be the same for someone whose card is normal (“non blank”)

        • +1

Same situation - however I tried to use the added "blank card" y'day at a restaurant and another popup bakery and it worked.

  • How do you is small amounts leftover?

    • find a restaurant/place that accepts split payment.

my local Grill'd happily does this, and sushi hub since they also accept the EATS gift card.

      • I've also done this at Nando's no issues

    • even a big restaurant in the city allowed me to use two of the gift cards (loaded in wallet) to pay our bill (for 6 people)….admittedly they were two large amounts, and one was the whole $300, but still, they allowed it.

  • +1

    great

    • My card turned up blank too when added to apple pay. Called them to request for a swap to a physical card which I haven’t received yet. I think it is the problem with the card rather than the phone and is not inclined to buy another one as the only way to use the e-gift card is to add it to the apple wallet. It seems that quite a number of people have the blank card problem.

      • If the blank card works though I think it is not that big a deal.

      • +2

but the physical cards can only be used in restaurants on the list

      • My blank one worked.

  • Just bought one close to midnight and haven't received the card in the email yet. Has anyone experienced a similar issue?

    • My bad, I spelt my own email address incorrectly 🤣. I would also like to report that the card cannot be added directly to Liven, but I haven't tried using Google pay yet

      • I also could not add it directly to Liven. Did you have a chance to try Google pay yet?

  • But it seems that not all blank cards worked. There is no certainty, so what would you do if it doesn’t work?

    • My Blank one worked at the second place I tried. The first (a Bakery) did not. Second was a food court place in Westfield Doncaster.

      • a bakery wouldn't have the right MCC

      • Bakeries are not supposed to work anyway I believe.

  • +2

Just bought another $300. Added to Apple Pay with no issue.

  • +1

I bought 3 and used them up. Words perfectly with apply pay. Attempted to buy another and failed. Does it limit transactions per account? I used my partner’s email to buy another with the same card successfully.

    • not sure, I bought 5 the other day (in one order….most for presents 4 x $50 + 1 x $100 for me) and another 1 today for me ($300) Wish I had bought more now when they had the 20% off last month, but I was unsure about them when I did and I got 1 $100 + 2 x $300 then (I had a big lunch coming up for my daughter's 30th and my son's 33rd birthday, so spent $500 out of the 2 x $300 then anyway)

    • I have purchased 4 x $300 under the one account over multiple days. All linked to the one email. No issues for me. Used PC Firefox for all purchases.

I will note though that the 4th one I got (this morning (12 noon) has only received the Tax Invoice but not the other email with the actual CARD details itself. It is usually almost instant.

Not worried though but I would have preferred to have it added.

      • Same, ordered around noon today, but still haven’t received the digital card detail yet. It’s my first purchase with PayPal.

      • Have you received your card yet? Mine is acting up the same when it's usually instant.

        • Just got it now at 11am

          • @li1123k: Same. 23h later. I would have considered getting another one as backup but was a bit worried.

            • @danielh: Damn, I can’t add the card into apple wallet manually, getting error ‘contact card issuer’
Same error when I tried to add physical HOME to apple wallet.

The restaurant card is now useless now if I can’t add it into Apple Pay

      • Add me to the list of making a purchase today and it not being sent yet (despite it previously being instant).

        • I made the purchase about 30 minutes ago and got it within two minutes of payment.

        • Like others got it around 11AM

    • how did you get it to work?
Seems like 3 is the most it would let me get.
Tried different details and different cards and it's still getting declined.

Worked at Luna Park Sydney in purchasing an Annual Pass.

    • +1

To clarify didn’t work online, did work in park.

    • So you bought at the gate and it worked?

      • Yes exactly, proceeded to the Luna Park Annual Pass/Membership Counter on Arrival. Asked to buy a pass and paid via Apple Pay with this Card.

        • very nice

I'm wanted to try paying for accommodation at hotels, motels / resorts

          • @Poor Ass: Considering the merchant categories it definitely may work.

For what it’s worth I have used it successfully at Sea World Resort (Hotel) Bar and Restaurant.

          • @Poor Ass: YMMV.

I tried using a card stored on a mobile wallet to pay for a hotel stay recently, but the hotel insisted that I present a physical card for two reasons:

            • They wanted to make sure the card was actually in my name, as they had a few fraudulent transactions in recent times with stolen cards, so they insisted on checking that the card being used had my name as the cardholder.

            • The EFTPOS terminal would only accept a bond payment by insert or swipe. Although my Samsung phone supports MST, the hotel staff thought I was telling porkies when I said that my Samsung phone can mimic a card being swiped…

            • @WookieMonster: what happened at the end?

did they end up accepting the Restaurant Choice on wallet to pay for the stay and then you use cc for bond?

              • @Poor Ass: Nope, I had to pay for both the hotel stay and the bond using my credit card.
