                • @Savethebuck: thankfully it was just one of em. i got 2 other 50s and 200 and they worked out fine. anyways the money is finally back into my gift card! took them 3 days though.

      • -2

Luckily I used few HOME $100s to buy $100 apple gc successfully at OW in 4 separate transactions (2 via Apple Pay, 2 via physical swipe), cashier is a young staff who dosent care or might not even know what the HOME card is lol

Unfortunately online checkout was failed to buy the apple gift card via using HOME Visa card

    • No idea why I have been downvoted so much for asking, it seems reasonable does it not?

      • +2

I have no idea why aswell. I have purchased the $250 coles Mastercard gift card in the past when it was 10% off and was able to use it to purchase a $270 JB gift voucher (was 7% off) so in total I saved $38.70. If you could stack gift cards on gift cards to potentially save more money, why wouldn’t you?

  • +4

I find that a lot of these are not very functional - you arne't allowed to spilt payments for online shopping, so that limits your purchase to usually 100$ or under. That doesn't allow a lot of stuff to be bought!

Unless someone has figured out a better way? the only way i could see that you could exchange them and accumulate multiple value into one big gift card for certain shops but the range was extremely limited.

    • +1

A better way could be to purchase the variable load denomination, where you can load up to $500 onto a single Ultimate gift card. The variable load denomination is part of this deal. (Not very handy advice for the current Coles deal, considering that excludes the variable load denomination…)

I should also mention that not all physical Ultimate gift cards are sold in a variable load denomination, but “popular” Ultimate gift cards (e.g. Ultimate Home) are sold in a variable load denomination.

      • but variable is not available for the discount?

      • +1

Bought my first 2 x $500 Home UGC yesterday to put down a deposit at TGG.

Just wish the physical variable denomination UGC had the same maximum load of $1000 as the eGift version seems to—needing to buy, and then process, twice as many cards to pay for one item is a minor nuisance (I’ll need 8 to pay the balance), but guess we gotta work for that 10% discount.

  • Bought a Digital EATS Card from https://shop.redeemyourgiftcard.com.au/cards/ultimate-eats-e…

Then tried using it to pay on MenuLog error: "Your payment was declined, sorry. Please try again." WTF

Anyone know how to fix it; Or what's the issue?

    • How do you even pay with ultimate gc? Under card? There's card number, and ccv, but what's the exp?

      • Digital gc has expiration details

        • So you need to convert digital gc first? How?

          • @Lancerx: menulog you enter it as your credit card

            expiry is 12/29

        • Just about all e-commerce gateways do not allow for multiple payments of credit/debit style cards.
It's like buying something for $100 and trying to use two credit cards to pay. However this is not the case if you try and use that card via paywave in store.
You can top up using another form of payment.

          ouch lame

  • how do you use ultimate eat gift card on menulog app to pay? Also, looks like you can pay with multi gc on menulog or even part amount?

    • I meant you can't pay *

  • great

  • I just went to Woolworth nearby and by the time and lucky to find 2x500 cards. With a happy smile, I ran to the cashier and she said she needs to check with the manager. After like 5 minutes, she went back to me and said “sorry you only allow to load 1 card, but you can go to other store to buy another one” and said something about each store has its own rules.

Is it true? Don’t we can load up to 10 cards and one transactions per day?

    • Went and purchased 2x500 Home at a self serve checkout today. No questions asked.

      • I bet they gonna hide and stack all those card for themself after I leave

    • +1

You must've got the same checkout chick as me when I was buying GCs from Woolies last time. Makes up their own rules on the spot.

      • She did scan all cards for me till the manager show up

        • Because woolies systems requires a manager approval over $1k or something silly.

The catalogues theoretically allows you to purchase $5k but that requires store manager approval. But before you get to that limit you get bs rules put to you.

      • they are too bad, the self checkout chick told me that i only allowed to scan 1 at a time and pay when i wanted to buy $950, and i did not know you only earn points per day for 1 transaction so i lost $45

    • Bought 6 Variables through manual checkout since I was not allowed through self-serve checkout.

  • Did anyone have the experience of ordering Click&Collect instore in Officeworks with the payment of multiple GCs? Thanks for sharing.

    • +1

I've used multiple GC's to successfully pay for a single item off the shelf at Officeworks, but not tried it via Click&Collect.

      • Thank you for sharing. Seems like staff there was able to do C&C for me but unfortunately when we reached the store, the product I am up to was OOS.

  • I'm trying to use the home gift card for jb hifi online but its not working, this the card number is too short? Do these not work for jb hifi online?

    • Ultimate home card is prepaid Visa card that can use limited brands.
You should better visit in-store and buy JB GC using Home card.

    • I was about to head to woolies, loadup on cards then goto to jb hifi to use them. Do you really have to convert them the jb GC first? Is this able to be done online?
I want to get 10% plus 10% discount is possible(card and jb today discount)

      • +2

Only if buying online. If instore they work fine

      • Online : JB doesn't have limited use JB GC by online but Home GC is prepaid Visa card, so you can use only one Home GC by online order.

In-store : You don't have to convert it. No limited.

ULTIMATE GC and TCN GC are not able to exchange JB or TGG by online.

It's possible to they deny swap to their GC, but Ultimate GC is prepaid Visa card, so you can add it to pay wallet(apple, google and samsung) and buy JB Or TGG GC.
TCN GC normally denied swap to JB or TGG GC. So I don't like them…
        It's from my experience.

    • +1

The Ultimate Home gift card worked for me on JB Hi-Fi online, you just have to make sure the purchase amount is equal to or less than the gift card amount.

Otherwise, I used the gift card to buy an e-gift card online from the JB Hi-Fi website and it worked! Then you can use up to 5 JB Hi-Fi gift cards in checkout.

      • Oh good info! I didn't know that!
Jb GC checkout system uses same as JB online checkout system.

TGG GC can only buy though True Rewards checkout system by online that is different with TGG online checkout system.

  • Just bought 10 x $500 home card in one transaction at self checkout. No issues. The staff just had to keep tapping in to verify lol.

  • do the ultimate home cards work online?

    • They don't! I just tried to use it at JB hifi online. Every info online from JB and Ultimate gift cards themselves saying you can use online, exchange to retailer's egift card then use them online, bla bla. They dont! I had to pay in store.

      • I had the same experience. JB Doesn't recognise the cards at all.
I tried swapping them for JB Hifi cards on the Ultimate Gift Cards site (https://exchangeyourcard.com.au/) doesn't recognise them as activated. I even tried registering them on MyPrepaidCentre, which worked but I still couldn't exchange them for JB Hifi cards. Insanely annoying and a total waste of time!

        • I could get through to the exchangeyourcard site but JB isnt one of the options you can swap to

    • Yes, you can use it online, but only one Ultimate GC per transaction due to Ultimate GC is prepaid Visa card that can only use nominated brands.
Use it same as credit or debit card, type GC card number, name, expiration date and CVV.

When you add your Ultimate GC on Myprepaidcentre.com.au, you can get expiration date.
But normally it will be 12/29 when you bought this year.

    • +2

I tried it at JBHIFI for online order . It appeared to work used the name "Gift card" and expiry 12/29 as per the website but 5 minutes later got an email from JBHifi " Unfortunately, your recent order of $79.95 has failed our verification process and been cancelled. "

      Any ideas

  • Anyone know if you still earn store cash at TGG if paying via Ultimate GC?

  • Any tips converting to JB Gift cards online, i keep getting cancelled orders, Very hard to pay in-store, i have to swipe it 10 times for 1 card to work

  • +1

Wouldnt let me buy directly but it did let me buy a JBHifi gift card and have now used that for the purchase. What a screwy system

  • I recently used the ultimate home cards from the coles 15% off I used most for what I wanted but my store did did have the other items in stock, so hopefully I be able to use last gift card Boxing Day when items I’m after will be on discount again.

On the above I have two options I can leave as is and use in store then or I can add it to Apple Pay etc and then buy a physical card from there store, sorry this is jb hifi.
Or I believe i can use this card online as long as it’s the only payment right? So can I use that gift card online and pay rest with debit card etc?
Or does the card need to be under the amount to be paid to use online?

Regarding this deal on here the Woolworths not so great 10% off I am right in saying these are tcn cards? And I take they no longer let you exchange these cards to jb hifi cards but used to.

Again if using in store no worries but if I wanted to online what are my options?

Regarding these gifts card be it the ultimate Visa cards from coles deal or these ones what you don’t use on card will be left you don’t have to use it all at once right?

But by sounds of it if using any of these cards if your purchase and using any of these cards if there is not enough on card to cover the full cost you can’t use as you can’t split the payments ie part gift card and something else.

    Thanks

  • I've bought 3x$100 for $270. I already have $550 in JB cards and I want to buy something from for $850 after the "92wickedwed10" deal.
Problem is that you need to have the full amount to buy online, so i want to buy JB giftcards as a solution.
I've tried exchanging them online for JB giftcards, 1 of them worked, the other 2 were cancelled for verification. I tried again, and 1 more worked and the other didn't. Is there any trick to make this work? Does JB HIFI just flip a coin to decide whether it will be cancelled or not? What do i put as the name one the card?
I had the same issue with the GIFTZ.com cards from myprepaidcentre and had the same random results with online exchangeing to JB gift cards. The GIFTZ.com one worked when i exchanged in store. Is my only option to exchange instore? I only want to buy online to get the "92wickedwed10" deal for 10% off. Does that also work instore?

    • From my experience you can usually only do 1-2 a day before their systems kicks in and blocks your order.

  • I bought $500 kids card and tried to make JB Hifi purchase online, however it was declined.

When I checked the card history, full amount was deducted and showing as pending.

Did anyone experience this kind of issue and what was the outcome?

  • +2

Bought 2 x $500 Ultimate Home Gift Cards. Used them both to purchase JB Hi-Fi Gift Cards. Took less than an hour to receive both via email. Could then use both at once to purchase something online. Roughly an hour from buying them in store at Woolworths to using them to purchase something online at JB.

First time doing it and will do it from now on knowing how easy it was.

    • +1

Did exactly the same, purchased 2x $500 from woolies for $900, purchased 2x $500 gift cards from jb online, waited 20 minutes for them to come through, purchased $1000 item online using the 2x cards.

      • Used them both to purchase JB Hi-Fi Gift Cards

purchased 2x $500 gift cards from jb online

Did you guys buy the 2 JB cards in one or two transactions? Good to know this seems to work anyway.

        • +1

Yep, you'll need to do it in multiple transactions as you cant split payment online so you should buy a JB card of matching value of the ultimate card, which you can then use in the checkout to split transactions (i believe there is a limit of 5 gift cards + your normal payment method.

      • -1

How are they used online to purchase jb gift cards? They don't appear acceptable in the check out?

        • +3

I am going to assume you have the Visa version of the Ultimate gift cards (i.e. the version pictured in this deal). If you somehow ended up the older EFTPOS version of the Ultimate gift cards, you cannot use it for any online purchases.1 If you have no idea what I am talking about, have a look at this FAQ.

For the Visa version, you enter the 16 digit card number, expiry date (12/29 for physical Ultimate gift cards) and the CVV2 value into the credit/debit card section of the online checkout. You do not enter the Ultimate gift card’s details into the gift card section of the online checkout, because Ultimate gift cards are not the same as JB Hi-Fi gift cards.

The cardholder name can be anything, unless the Ultimate gift card was previously registered on the MyPrepaidCentre website (which is completely optional for physical Ultimate gift cards). If that was the case, enter the name provided on the MyPrepaidCentre website when the physical Ultimate gift card was registered.

          1. I would be surprised if you ended up with the EFTPOS version through this deal, because it has been quite a while since I have seen Woolworths selling the older EFTPOS version.

        • They are just preloaded Visa cards that only work at the specific retailers.

Just put the gift card in your cart and check out and use credit card payment, put in the card number expiry 12/29 and CVC and buy it just as you would with your normal card.

  • +1

Does anyone know if there is any way to know if your cards have been activated?

When I bought my 15% from Coles, they were activated straight away, and I was able to manually put them onto my Wallet for paywave. The 10% ones I purchased a few hours ago from Woolworths won't manually load onto my iPhone wallet, and I have no idea if they're activated or not.

I want to grab something from JB or Officeworks tonight, but would rather not look like a goose when I price match/beat only to realise they're not activated yet.

    • Good question. I rely on the little chit the Woolies person prints and gives me that says something like “$XXX activation was successful” along with the card number, but I have wondered if there’s another way to confirm online later if you lose it (especially when dealing with several cards).

    • +1

Have you attempted to check the balance of the gift card on the MyPrepaidCentre website? If it is activated, you will be able to see the balance.

Btw, what kind of Ultimate gift card did you purchase?

      • Thanks WookieMonster. On MyPrepaidCentre, all balances are showing up. All cards are Ultimate Home Visa (3x$100 and 1 variable @ 500), so looks like they're activated?

        • They’re definitely activated, because you can see a balance on them, so you can swipe to redeem them at a participating retailer.

I strongly suspect you have Ultimate Home gift cards that are currently unable to be added to a mobile wallet, due to a bug. There are some Ultimate Home gift cards affected by this, but not all.

    • if ya card starts with 457824 052 you can never add them to wallet.. it's a faulty batch

Wookie and I talked about this before and currently 050 051 are the good ones that can be added to any wallet

      • Ah, that's them. Thanks Poor Ass and Wookie. I'll stroll into OfficeWorks with a bit more confidence now.

  • Just in case no one aware, you can use Coles PrePaid Master card to purchase all these Ultimate gift card from Woolworths. I bought 4x$50 Ultimate Teens card using the $250 Coles PrePaid Master Card. Hope this help everyone. Merry Christmas 🎄.

    • +2

can't believe you are still holding these… got to use them all before they get hacked

    • You legend

  • I'm completely new to this but if I buy gift cards for JB, would there be any issues should I use them to buy apple products ie an iPad?

    • +1

Assuming you’re referring to Ultimate gift cards, you should be able to buy Apple or any other products from JB (and the other listed retailers, e.g. TGG). Think of them as a dedicated debit card to use at these shops only, but within them you can buy pretty much anything.

If you meant JB gift cards specifically (purchased from JB, Macquarie Marketplace, NRMA or the like), then you can only use those at JB, but again can buy anything you like from their stores.

  • Does anyone know hot to use the ultimate him gift card at Adrenaline? It says that I should be able to exchange them for Adrenaline but when I login to the website it doesn't give me that option. Any ideas?

      • Yeah Adrenaline is not showing as an option.

    • Could you use the Ultimate Him gift card’s details (e.g. 16 digit card number, expiry date, CVV2) to purchase something directly on the Adrenaline website (e.g. a package, an eGift card)? The Ultimate gift card website says that should be possible.

      • +1

I ran into the same issue when I was trying to redeem on the JB website.

Basically after a lot of messing about I found out the Ultimate Gift Cards are treated as Visa Cards but you cant use them because they arent registered. Basically I registered the card on the below website then purchased the official JB gift cards with the UGC gift card and then proceeded to make my JB purchases:

        I did the following:
        1) Make an account on https://myprepaidcentre.com.au/
        2) Add your Ultimate Gift Card/s there (You do not provide any CVV or Pins, its security coded)
        3) Make sure you register your card after its added with your details - allows you to use your name at checkout when inputing the UGC in the Visa payment section
        4) Then you can use the card at whatever retailer you wish

Very frustrating since I could only work out how to make a singular gift card purchase and but works

Happy to hear if others had a either solution without going to a phyiscal store

        • you cant use them because they arent registered.

          Sort of.

You can use physical Ultimate gift cards without registering them (including online), but I find it can be hit-or-miss when it comes to whether a participating retailer accepts it online.

You cannot use Ultimate eGift Cards without registering them first.

          • @WookieMonster: I purchased about 10 for a JB purchase but since they are treated Visa cards not giftcards I could only do 1 in a single transaction. This long winded route worked for me but happy to hear if there an easier alternative for next time

            • @samuraifan: What do you mean, I just bought 3 x 100 and walked straight into JB to buy AirPods, they first take my $10 perks, swipe 3 ultimate gift cards, swipe remainder from my Amex.

The cashier said there is no limit on number of gift cards.

              • @Jammar: You can also buy one with a value of your choice max $500 though. I bought one for $379 value of headphones.

  • -1

There was probably 50 or so Thanks $100 & $50 left at Westfield woollies yesterday, it works for JB but not printed on the card.

The tv guy at jb hifi sound rather confident I can claim price difference on the S95B within the next 30 days. Sounds like there will be another big drop on price for that TV, Boxing Day?

  • The cards from $20 to $500 I take you can load these with what you want say $400.
Has anyone tried to transfer this for a jb hifi card on their site and worked.
This comes in teen, kids, home?

I believe home cards you have issues adding to phone to use in store to buy jb cards right.

Is there a certain card which works better than others when trying to exchange to jb ones on jb site like like him better than kids etc.

    • Has anyone tried to transfer this for a jb hifi card on their site and worked.

Yes, have a look further up this page where a couple of people reported doing this, and I was likewise successful soon afterwards. I had a maxed out variable load Home UGC.

FWIW I had not registered my UGC anywhere and was able to just input my name along with the card details.

      • Ok so let me get this correct you used a home card variable $20 to $500 card I obviously not seen these before but are part of the 10% off.

You had a maxed out $500 card as that’s the max you can do and you did not register card anywhere and went on jb site and was able to get the $500 I assume you got gift card from them yes.’

It seems a wise card to get rather than several $50 or $100 etc cards.

What if it fails try another day or try again same day?
Does the funds in ugc does anyone know get removed from card temporarily and added back in or is it always there after a failed attempt.

I have a ugc from the coles desk left it’s a home card I’m tempted to swap that one on jb site or maybe i should try variable card first once purchased then my home card purchased previously from coles deal.
It’s just easier for me being able to use these online and using jb offical cards

        • Yes, it worked exactly like it would with a credit/debit card. The only difference is these cards do not have our names recorded on them, so where it asks for ‘name as appears on card’ (or similar) what you put down is obviously not getting matched with anything. But you can’t leave that field blank either. (I suppose you could try Mickey Mouse and see if that also works but I didn’t want to gamble with $500 on the line.)

This was my first attempt at using one of these online, and only the second time ever (I’d used a couple in store at TGG just days earlier), so unsure what happens if they fail. Others have reported on hiccups previously in this thread though.

          • @fraxinus: What you mean you can’t put your own name in way so if not then what name.
I’m just thinking as you had to buy a few cards to do your spend online on jb ie not converted to jb card what’s stopping me using it online to the full? So say my purchase was 385 for example and card is 400 I’m good right where are if it was a 100 card I can’t as you can only use one.

            • @bwatt72: I put my own name in the name field, just saying it probably doesn’t matter what you use (in the way it might with an actual credit card in your name).

If you don’t use the full value of a card, the balance will be available for future use. Generally probably better getting the higher amount if you buy stuff from JB reasonably often.

              • @fraxinus: This is first time I seen variable card so even if I did not transfer to a jb card through jb site it still would allow me to use it online so say I had a purchase of multi items say total was $380 and it’s $400 value im all good to use online to purchase.
Where as buying multiple cards say x4 $100 cards you can only use one online no more? As it’s a bigger card you can use it online and no issues.
I take the cards that are variable with jb. logo are good to go and jb online and in store accept.
As I did see similar cards with no jb on them or visa part but ones with no jb of same was not as advertised so different cards but look very much alike

    • FYI only some Ultimate Home gift cards (numbered 052 in the Visa card number) are affected by a bug where you cannot add them to any mobile wallet for no apparent reason.

Other types of Ultimate Home gift cards with different numberings in the Visa card number are not effected.

      • Most cards I seen are 052 but I have here 051 so should be good to add to phone yes

        • 051 and 050 cards worked for me

          • @WookieMonster: Just so I get this clear as I buy multiple items sometimes at once and over time I could spend upto my value with these variable cards it’s home card. And I can do so online jb?

Or if I wanted I can without registering the card try my luck and buy the value I own on that variable card from jb site

              Yep.

              Yep.

              • @WookieMonster: Thanks great these variable cards obviously are a better choice for me. I assume if I got the option to pay through jb direct the process would be same for paying ie use this card as payment method.

Just so I’m not stuck on the day when I wish to use but you enter all the details on your gift card as well as your name? I remember reading about expiration number I not checked card out yet does this have so as well if not do I need to know what to put in.

                • @bwatt72: I’m not entirely sure whether Ultimate gift cards would work on JB Direct. There is a good chance it will work, considering that you can use an Ultimate gift card on the The Good Guys Commercial portal.

Just so I’m not stuck on the day when I wish to use but you enter all the details on your gift card as well as your name?

If the gift card was previously registered on the MyPrepaidCentre portal, you should provide the name the card was registered to.

If the gift card was not previously registered on the MyPrepaidCentre portal, enter anything in the cardholder name box… although entering your own name would make the most sense.

I remember reading about expiration number I not checked card out yet does this have so as well if not do I need to know what to put in.

If you have an Ultimate eGift Card, enter the expiry date shown on the MyPrepaidCentre portal.

If you have a physical Ultimate gift card, enter 12/29 as the expiry date.

  • The problem we had with these cards and using them on jb site if my purchase was Say $380 and I only had $100 cards i could not as did not let you do more than one card or use debit card as well.
But these variable cards let you use all that you have or part of it if needed

  • I was also curious can you use these cards online through jb direct

  • Is there any current or coming up target gift card deals by any chance

  • Woolworth Rhodes (2138) just restocked!

Purchased $3,000 worth of gift cards to get a MacBook Pro 14 inch from JB HiFi or Officeworks, whoever has the better deal on Boxing Day.

They will run out quickly :)

  • Few hours ago I transferred my remaining coles ultimate 15% card to jb hifi card on jb site no issues.
I have a variable card with more in it from the Woolworths 10% deal I just wonder if it will fail or go through or best try that tomorrow instead.

What happened if it fails and jb reject it are the funds temporarily not available or always there still in the card. It would suit me better if card is also transferred into a jb card.

    • Just wondering what expiring date do you enter ?
