I noticed JB just match Telstra price, and the 5% off can be applied to the Pixel phone range.

Too bad they didn't match the P7.

          • @brainactive: I thought it was a fair assumption that if someone is purchasing the latest Pixel phone they are likely committed to that ecosystem and would benefit from other Google products. Price match means $1 Google store credit is matched to $1 in other deals. I'm not stating that everything in the Google Store is great value, however some items are heavily discounted to entice entry into that ecosystem.

            • @thom: As much as Google would like to think in terms of ecosystems, truth is many users, particularly Android users are not tied to purchasing accessories from the one brand. For example, I love the Pixel phones but don't feel the need to use Google earbuds (happy with Sony ones or even soundpeats). Also have no need for smart watch. Official phone cases aren't that great quality nor good value compared to other brands like Spiegel. That doesn't leave much to buy from the Google store.

    • Thanks for the run down. Will purchasing Google One from another country over VPN qualify for this?

      • I believe there is a clause that your Google account needs to be registered to the country you are purchasing from, so you would need to purchase the Google One locally. I purchased a full year because that suited my situation but others have paid for 1 month and cancelled. I didn't want to go through that hassle and can always use additional cloud storage. Also be careful when purchasing cloud storage via VPN as your data is subject to whatever laws the country has that you're purchasing from.

Full credit to OP…. Have been waiting for Pixel 7 Pro sub $1k…. Ordered and delivered for $10 via Uber within an hour. JB you've done it again

  • You gotta be kidding!
My Mrs broke her phone on Wednesday arvo and needs it for work. Went to officeworks to price match the pixel 7 pro with telstra and they wouldn't match it (even though they said they would on the phone).
Next day officeworks has it for almost $300 cheaper - any suggestions on how to get it at the cheaper price? Obviously we can try asking, otherwise any ideas?

    • I was able to price beat at OW for Pixel 7. Auburn location. Ask for phone first and then ask about price beat

  • This or should wait for S23 Ultra ???

If you wait. You won't regret it. The next snapdragon chip will be beast on tsmc process. 200MP camera and all around better phone.

    1. This deal which probably gets Pixel 7 pro 128gb for $996 (through JB HiFi), and a separate cost for Google Pixel 6a 128gb for $521.55 (with https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/745669) => $1,517.55 total cost for pixel 7 and 6a. Need to pay for the mobile plans separately.

    Or

    1. Buy Pixel 7 pro 128gb with bonus Pixel 6a along with eligible 1-3 Year SIM plan from Optus (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/734123) for -> $1,448.64 (device cost) + $588 (considering $49 for 12 months plan) = $2,036.64. With an option to break the SIM plan contract in one month and pay the remaining cost of pixel 7 pro $1,448.64 (device cost) and keep the bonus pixel 6a for free. This has one SIM plan and need to pay for the other mobile plan.

Analysing, I believe the 1st option to purchase the device outright through JBHIFI or Google Store is still better, outside the fact that you will still need to pay for a mobile plan.

Purchasing a phone outright is always cheaper IMHO. Whatever plan you are sold from a telco is heavily inflated compared to the PAYG plans that you can get on discount.
I'm always surprised how many people on Ozbargain still throw money away via this avenue.

Wondering if I just port to Optus w/ OW and get an extra $300 off their $1187 price . Total for the 256GB variant comes out to $887 on a 12 month $69 plan.

    • $828 over 12 months doesn't seem great.. there's plenty of great 12 month prepaid plans on boost/Woolworths that work out much better value

      • -1

I'll never go back to prepaid. Plus I claim half my plan back on tax for work so it's not that bad.

  • Anyone know if it's possible to activate a new Telstra service w/ JB for the $300 gift card, then switch a number from another Telstra service I have onto this new service, cancelling the old one in the process?

Just got this deal using the 15% off gc from Coles, so about $850 all up. The lady at the counter told me a funny story about a guy buying a $3000 drone with $30-$50 gc and how the receipt was like 3m!

  • just picked mine up today to try it out. not won over yet coming from the s22 ultra. will test the camera and see

    • +1

Isn't the s22 ultra a superior? Curious why you switched to pixel

      • Wife has a s21 ultra
        I got a s22 ultra
She was complaining about her camera and I didn't think the s22 was much of an upgrade from the s21 ultra
Bought the pixel to test so it's not replacing the s22u but wanted to see if it was actually "the best phone of the year"

        • Ok I see, would be keen to hear what you think after your testing

        • If she's unsatisfied with the S21 Ultra… I'd recommend getting a non-phone camera. Phone cameras won't be much of an upgrade from the S21 I don't think; it's already pretty well regarded.

  • Pixel 7 I still think where value for money is, shame they don't price match that

  • Why is it that Hazel and Snow do not have 256GB configurations?

  • Coupon code aside, does anyone know when the sales end for these phones please?

    • Pretty sure it would be 24 December.
