There's no accept button or code, but I've definitely spent over $150 this month so will have to wait and see I guess.

    • +2

Should be fine, they ran the same deal back in September. Voucher was sent as specified, not many comments on it though so I'm not sure if there were any problems.

      • No problem with the voucher except that a lot of stores are excluded. Nevertheless, managed to use the $25 voucher from the last deal on an iron from Peter of Kensington!

  • +2

So does anyone know if the oled switch deal from earlier will count?

    • +1

Yeah it will, it's $150 spend after coupons.

      • I appreciate the answer.

      • But that code was “PLUSEBTF”

The terms in the post above says the voucher code needs to start with PLUDEC?

        • +2

PLUDEC is referring to the $20 coupon that you will get in January, it will be PLUDECxxxxxxxxxx.

          • @Hiphopopotamus: Ah cool

So my purchase of the Dell G3223D monitor will count as well?
            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/744892

            • +1

              @zzzman: Yes, see:

“Eligible Items” means all items listed on eBay.com.au except for the following items:
              items listed in the following categories: Other (88433),Tickets (1305),Vintage Luggage & Travel Accs (183477), Coins (11116),Other Tickets, Travel (123416),Cars, Bikes, Boats (9800),Travel (3252),Flights (3253),Real Estate (10542),Services (316),Gift Cards & Vouchers (184609)

              And also:

Conditions. This offer entitles Eligible Users to an eBay voucher valued at $20 (“Voucher”) when they spend $150 or more post any discounts (excluding postage costs) (“Minimum Spend”), in one or more transactions on Eligible Items using their eBay account during the Offer Period; and maintain their eBay Plus membership.

    • +1

and also the $220 4k monitor

  • +1

Where’s the invitation link to accept the promo?

    • +3

There is no invitation or acceptance required, just spend $150 this month as an active eBay Plus member and you will receive the voucher around 6th of Jan 2023.

      • Ok cool, guess I've already fulfilled the requirements

    • Thats the trick, there isn't one…

  • +13

The Voucher entitles you to $20 off the pre-coupon purchase price when you spend $150 or more (excluding postage costs) on Eligible item(s) listed on eBay.com.au, during the Validity Period.

So that's a minimum $300 spend essentially ($150 now, $150 in January). Not to mention, that $20 off $150+ spend coupon will negate any other coupons…

This shouldn't be on the front page

    Caveat emptor

    • +2

Where are you getting you need to spend $150 in both months? The offer validity only mentions December

Offer Period. The offer will only be available from 00:01 (AEDT) on 1 December 2022 until 23:59 (AEDT) on 31 December 2022 (“Offer Period”).

Edit: nevermind I see what you meant. $150 spend required to be able to use the $20 voucher, so yes $300 spend. Good pickup

    • +1

Yes, it is not that good when consider minimum $300 spend in total, it is still ‘freebie’ when people are expected to spend more than $150 during Christmas period, and the voucher validity period is almost 3 months not just in January.

    • I got a the Pokemon OLED Switch for $370 and plan on buying some stuff regardless of coupons that will be over $150 in jan anyway.
So its a win win for me.

      • +2

So its a win win for me.

How do you know? You don't know what other coupons will be on offer in Jan/Feb. Could easily be better than 13% discount

        • +2

Because, if there is a better coupon, I save money.
If there isn't, I still save money.

I didn't buy the switch deal just to get the $20 coupon, so even if I never use the coupon I'm still happy.

        • +1

The voucher will most likely be sitewide minus the usual categories and sellers, 'easily better than 13%' is a stretch for the same item pool.

          • @Hiphopopotamus: most of the items I want to buy are from smaller sellers, so the chances of them signing up for or being part of coupons are low.
Plus I don't know why it bothers him so much.
Reality is, I bought the items that qualify me for this coupon without even knowing its a thing. So its just a bonus, and if I dont end up using it for whatever reason, It's not like I'm missing out on something I was expecting.

    • +4

It depends on how much you use eBay, for me it's free money.

It's probably not worth specifically aiming for, but it will be a pleasant surprise to get in January.

    • +2

It’s good if you buy from private sellers, they’re generally not eligible for other coupons anyway.

    • Totally agree. I passed the min spend but still cancelled my membership. The $20 voucher for another $150 spend and unable to stack any other coupon code not worth $4.99 cash to me.

      • +1

If you’re paying $5 a month for Plus you’re doing it wrong

        • +1

          Yep
I did the buy a year membership and get $80 voucher.

  • +1

This is really not a good deal, ebay is losing it touch

    • I’d rather a direct immediate discount with no conditions.

  • Does buying this monitor last week qualify?

  • Pretty similar to Black Friday

  • +4

Does <insert item over $150> count as an item over $150?

    • +1

It’s almost as if it doesn’t say in one or more transaction, either. Just buy more!

  • +1

Don't know what promotion this is part of but Ryzen 7000's and some other bits and bobs are slightly discounted on ebay with the code SNSDEC
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/265988812591

  • +1

“Eligible Item(s) ” means items listed on eBay.com.au where a link to these terms and conditions and the coupon redemption code starting with PLUDEC is found in the item listing.

    So, nothing?

    • PLUSDEC1 and PLUSDEC2 coupons.
      e.g. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/125614903890
Which was on sale for $370ish for plus members earlier today.

      • So, virtually everything?

TBH I thought PLUDEC was different to PLUSDEC.

        • +1

TBH I thought PLUDEC was different to PLUSDEC.

It is, PLUDEC is referring to deals that this coupon can be used on in Jan/Feb

        • It appears to just be a typo. But I'll contact ebay support to confirm.

          • +2

@ihuntbargains: It just means that the $20 code will be PLUDECxxxxxxxxxxxx.

            • +1

@Hiphopopotamus: yeah ebay support just confirmed. My mistake.

“Eligible Items” means all items listed on eBay.com.au except for the following items:
              items listed in the following categories: Other (88433),Tickets (1305),Vintage Luggage & Travel Accs (183477), Coins (11116),Other Tickets, Travel (123416),Cars, Bikes, Boats (9800),Travel (3252),Flights (3253),Real Estate (10542),Services (316),Gift Cards & Vouchers (184609)

    • Last promo it was sitewide minus the usual excluded stores and catergories.

  • Shame those boozebud deals aren't on their ebay store. I'd be straight to $150 with the 15% off and free shipping..

  • Does this "voucher" override any other codes?

    • Yes, eBay has always been one code per order (excluding seller codes and GCs).

      • Pretty garbage then. Some other code or combination of codes will be better. It makes you wonder why they even take the time to bother setting this up in their system.

        • To each their own. It depends on what you usually buy, it should be better value for smaller sellers or auctions since the applicable codes (if there are any) are mostly lower value.

Also, the last time they ran a similar promo the code was sitewide minus the usual categories and sellers, whereas most generic eBay codes have more limited item pools.

        • I tried all the codes and couldn't get any discount on my Twinkly lights from Myer (just the 50% off from Myer and some discounted gift cards). So I spent over $150 and should get the voucher. Wouldn't buy anything especially for it though. Guess I'll see what happens when/if it comes.

  • +2

Reminder set.. I'm skeptical whether ebay will send these out without having to chase them up as usual..

  • +3

Hi guys, be careful with ebay voucher. I signed up eBay Plus on the last deal and get $80 voucher. I used that voucher to buy 4 items. But 1 item arrived damaged, the other 1 faulty. I requested a return and returned the item. But eBay refused to refund the credit from the voucher, and they say in T&Cs, voucher are not refundable even if you received the damaged and faulty items. Is it legal if they do that?

    • I doubt it. You had a contract to receive a good at a price. If receiving that good now costs you money to get one that works, ebay broke contact.

      • I contacted customer service, and they escalated this case to eBay, but they said it’s a big chance that they won’t refund the voucher because of their T&Cs, even if you received the damaged or faulty items. I don’t get how they can provide the service to customers like that. Which mean you take a risk if you buy something on ebay.

        • Their T&C's don't mean shite if they are illegal. Although I appreciate that arguing the point is difficult. Certainly report them to the ACCC.

          • @justtoreply: Thanks. That’s what I am going to do. I just want to let people know the issue that they might get with eBay, and I told them that it is ridiculous and it is like a steal. I have never seen anything like that happen, and it should not happen in Oz. Now, I just wait for their reply, and I will report them to ACCC.

  • basically spend over $300 to get $20 off

    no deal….

  • Hey elites, is there a way i can search ozbargain for all ebay plus deals? that way i can see if I can find something $150 or more to buy

Also I recently bought https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/744892 that Dell 32" USB Monitor, under eBay plus would that count already??

  • the redemption code for this offer

    I don't understand, what code?

  • Thanks OP.

Already spent over 250 bucks this month. So looks like I should get the $20! :)

  • Any one receive this voucher?

    • +1

      nothing yet for me

      • just received the $20 voucher in my email

    • just received mine today

    • Got mine "Sent:06-Jan-23 10:03"

  • Got mine today, as well as the $25 one from this deal.

    • +1

      Same here.
Didn't notice the promotions last year but now need to spend $150 +$150 in the season 😂

  • +3

Did anyone else read the terms as $150 min spend to obtain the voucher but not another $150 min spend to spend the voucher?

    • Yes I felt peeved when I realised this too

      • I don't suppose anyone has had any luck convincing ebay it's misleading. $20 off $300 really isn't that appealing.

        • I doubt we would get far with it. CS will just refer to the terms and conditions and quote the $150 requirements.
There is always another new deal - onward and upwards

      • I guess live and learn…

The more annoying part is now how to search for only:
“Eligible Item(s) ” means items listed on eBay.com.au where a link to these terms and conditions and the coupon redemption code starting with PLUDEC is found in the item listing.

  • Once again I find myself wasting my time arguing with ebay live support… just to get this voucher… which probably isn't worth the time and effort.

  • Has anybody found any elligible items??

    • +1

I have seen a few, for example the Futu online store is included.

Unfortunately the eligible item pool seems rather limited (compared to the last time they ran a similar promo), finding something may be a challenge.

      • Yeah I actually got mine from the black Friday sale. Can't find anything good to buy for $150 tbh :/
