    Beware: Flight Centre!!!

    • ? STA has no relation to Flight Centre. Are you referring to Student Flights which is owned by FCL?

      • From what I remember when I booked my flight through STA the lady said they used Flight Centre's database for prices…

  • as long as they can do price beat yeah baby, bring it on

  • I will try to avoid STA at all cost. Hard time dealing with them few months ago when I tried to change my flight due to unforeseen circumstances. Very unhelpful staffs and beware of their terms and conditions!

    • u try to avoid the change fee right? the fee is not come from the travel agent, because the airline impose that fee, thats why i always pay using my credit card (free travel insurance) so i can claim with them

No I wasn't trying to avoid the change fee. I was more than happy to pay the change fee in fact but was told I was not allowed to change my flight - no change, no upgrade, nothing at all! At the end I have to cancel the ticket and only got refunded $200ish of airport tax out of the total $2200 that I have paid. Husband used a credit card without travel insurance to book, so nothing more we could do.

Managed to know the booking class of my airfare from STA after some efforts (at first they refused to tell but I tricked them into telling me eventually). I have a friend who works in travel agent and from there I found out that the booking class that I was in allows rebooking of flight/date/class after ticketing, rerouting before/after departure etc. Contacted STA but they says their own terms and conditions overrules that -_-

I'm sharing my own experience here, hoping that there is no more victim like me. Beware of STA.

        • geeze that sucks!!

        • that suck, i have exp in the past with fc, they charge me $100 to change it.

  • Damn, just got a quote - $983.00 return fare and is not eligible for $100.00 off.

  • Where did you get this from? Valid until…?

  • Also, STA UK prices (in pounds) are usually cheaper than the Aussie website. You can get them to call you from the UK through their online chat on the UK website. Carefull you don't have to pay currency exchange fees though (use a 28 Degrees Mastercard or something)

You'd be better off booking your trip online, my other half used to work at STA and their markups on flights are crazy. $100 bucks off $1000 is nothing when they're ripping you by 30% and very often more!

    • It's the price people are willing to pay for their laziness & stupidity.

  • Quite good for getting an extra $100 off a cruise oolong thought but then again they probably only offer it on the brochure rates

Is this code still valid? "lpvoucher" was used for the Lonely Planet promotion and had to be booked before 31-March. See http://www.statravel.com.au/lonelyplanet.htm. STA say they know nothing about a recent VISA promotion. Please clarify the source of your post.
