Good price, but its double click issue really annoying.

    • A friend and I have been using this for a year and no double clicks. I swapped to Kailh gm8.0 switches anyway and made it even better.

It is on the heavier side but you can do some quick mods to this. Such as 3d printing a new scroll wheel to replace the metal one. And sacrificing battery life by using a AAA or AAAA battery instead.
I also took some excess plastic out and brought it down to 103grams.

      • Can you please advise where you buy new switch and the tools to replace? I have 2 G604s both have double click issue.
        Thanks

I had a similar issue with my Razer Deathadder. Single click would double click. After a bit of research, I found out that it's due to the moisture building in the mouse. To fix the issue, just put your lips around the button and blow in the small gap between the mouse button and the lower body of the mouse. You may need to do it 5-6 times, and for few days in a row. It may take couple of days before you notice the improvement. First time it was fixed for few weeks but then it came back. Now I randomly do it once every 2 weeks or so, and it's working fine so far. I wonder if Logitech has the same problem.

      • Thanks for your information. But the issue with G604 looks like the quality of switch, it can be fixed by change a better switch as recommended by WarriorZ.

      • Can confirm this has worked with my old Deathadder Chroma (2012) and a G502 hero wireless.

Is it woth getting for $40

    • i think so. where about ?

I've got this (using it now). Highly recommend it. Use it extensively as a productivity mouse and for some light gaming. At first I didn't want to use AA batteries, but now I've realised it's much easier than having an inbuilt battery that will degrade with time and is not able to be replaced. Only issue is that now I don't think I can ever use any other mouse since I now need the buttons.

Just a note for next time if you choose to go for another mouse mate, you can get replacements cells for built in batteries in mouse as well, say this is a good local shop that I use. As long as connector is the same and voltage is the same, you can swap them as you wish, say with a smaller/bigger capacity depending on whether you value portability or battery life. Even if polarity is different you can splice the cables yourself.

Be aware the grip rubber degrades very quickly and becomes brittle and there is no replacement parts.
    Eg. https://www.reddit.com/r/logitech/comments/tbm7za/logitech_g…

    • Yep, this happened to me after couple of months usage, the mouse is amazing for productivity/lots of buttons, but quality is absolutely atrocious, logitech QC/design on some of their stuff has gone downhill since mx500 days…

    • +1

I must have got lucky and mine didn't degrade, but the glue holding it on did. Such as great mouse with a massive flaw

    • Happened to me with my G604 too. Doesn't stop me from using it, but felt a bit cheaper than I expected.

  • Can anyone with this mouse use and can comment on how the built in memory works?
So if i set it on my home laptop, logi software installed (customise the buttons to open close next previous tabs chrome for example), after that i can connect to work laptop (cant install any software, IT blocks), and all the customise buttons will work on chrome? Just like that?

I don't have this mouse, but I do have a Logitech G502. I've mapped my left and right on my scroll wheel to switch desktops in Windows using the software, and this carries over to my other laptop which doesn't have the software, so yes, it is in-built and your customised mappings should remain.

      • how do you use G502 with 2 laptops, it has lighting dongle connectivity only no bluetooth. or do you have 2 dongles, one is each laptop?

        • +1

I don't have the Lightspeed model, it's an older wired model

    • Yep. Totally works just fine. That's exactly what i do. Dongle when i hotdesk at work, Bluetooth at home. I have only used the software a couple of times and don't bother using it now for home either.

Left and right scroll toggle for Chrome to switch tabs, button bound to closing tabs, forward, backward having dedicated buttons, button combination bound to delete for the rediculous amount of organisational email i get sent.

    • Yep that will work. For example I've done all my custom mappings for my games, and taken this mouse to an internet/gaming cafe. No software is required and i can switch up to 5 profiles.
However, macros don't save into memory, that'll need the software still.

  • Also.. is the scroll wheel can be use to scroll horizontal (on excel or chrome for example, without any software installed needed?

@ChiMot have had the G604 for about 3 years and use it for work, heavy excel and office suite user.
Yes, I do exactly this due to work laptop being locked down by admin.
Install logi software on personal PC, set buttons, in my case I use custom macros for excel. Save layout to onboard memory. And that's that's it!

      • yes i work with excel word chrome and outloook thats it so i like to customise buttons.
hmm cheers for the confirmation - gosh have too many mouse already!
been looking at 2nd hand market for this, can be bought for cheap but brand new for $30 more is more make sense i guess

      • I'm in the same boat and used macros/keyboard shortcuts mapped to each of the buttons for Excel too! The grip/thumbrest felt very comfortable for me.

For me, I upgraded from a G602 to G604 but I found the rubber on my G604 wore out quite quickly as the adhesive to the mouse didn't seem to hold it down. Wore out after about 18 months with nearly daily use due to COVID/WFH so I guess I got good use out of it, but my previous G602 felt more robust for longer.

I've since upgraded to an MX Master 3S for WFH though, and use my old G903 for gaming.

  • FWIW, if you want a lighter battery, from amazon i use 1.5V lithium rechargable AAs for my photo triggers and they are super light. If you are concerned with weight and battery life, this is a good option.

  • @HeyJes

  • Man 260gram is a real dealbreaker for me.

    • That's not how much it weighs. Could be Amazon's package weight.

    • +3

It's 135g unless you plan to keep it in the packaging.

      • ohh ok not as heavy as I thought then.

  • My daily driver and I love it. First one lasted almost 2 years before one of the buttons became intermittent and I got a replacement under warranty.

  • This looks like it would be a decent replacement for my ancient G700. Lots of buttons for excel…

    • +2

And I've just missed out. Serves me right for writing a comment before buying.

      • Keep an eye on eBay, I got mine for $75-ish on it

    • Rubber issues thanks to 5umo. I didn't experience this myself, but the glue holding the rubber down failed. Zero replacement parts or aftermarket parts. I'm gathering Logitech scrap this awhile back for this reason

  • It's a great mouse but the rubber will detach from the mouse after ~12 months of use.

  • I’m a structural drafter and program all the macros in my mouse for drawing. I struggle to do my job without it. Haven’t had any issues.. yet!

If I had to replace it with something else the only replacement would be this; https://www.razer.com/au-en/gaming-mice/razer-naga-v2-pro
