About $65 cheaper than all other Ryzen 7900 (non-X)'s, it is a super efficient CPU so if your electricity bill is taking you out but you need to have one of the best CPU's on the market then look no further! I also have no idea on how long "Eyo" have been around, never heard of them until I saw this on static ice.

LOL 1990's called they want their website back!

  • They've been around for a long time, in case the design of the website hasn't given it away.

Going by the cached screenshot on their first deal in 2009, I think they are still using the same CSS and template. It's also cool that they show how much stock they have in their own warehouse as well as at their suppliers.

    • surprised that it took 3 years of ozbargain to have a deal from eyo.

  • Waiting for the eBay sale on Monday.

    • To combine It with GC from woolies.

Seems like a great CPU, save money on power for your main use and use PBO to max out the power and get 7900x performance when required.

  • I remember Eyo. And its web site.

Is a very old and thought long gone company name reappearing with its very old web site listing some very old products a cause for purchasers to be suspicious and cautious?

Price is just ok, for those who can wait let the Intel equivalents enter the market more, along with the 7900X3D. Should be further price drops in 3-4 weeks as a result.

    • Not sure what is happening with Intel's release schedule based on the recent video by LTT.

      • OEMs are going to be batch ordering these for a while, but there should be stock present at retail in the coming weeks. Same thing is true for the non-X Ryzens, really.

    • I don't think Intel will have any equivalent, they aren't efficient enough to compete at 65w.

  • I almost click the button until I found out AM5 use DDR5 only. I can't throw away my DDR4. Also I noticed that someone complained they can use only 64G DDR5 on 4 ram slots.

    • Ddr5 has a certain level of error correction built in, so its a decent step up in other ways than just performance.

And yes, 64GB is the current "guaranteed to work" limit, since each stick is effectively using 2 lanes. STH have managed to get more on certain boards though.

Bios maturity will help in time.

  • Tempted, but I can't find a Gigabyte or Asus mobo with 6x sata for less than $400

    • Might be easier for you to get a pcie card that can do multiple sata.

      • Thought about that, but any half decent one would add to the cost significantly

      • Hey, that's awesome, didn't know about this model. The only reviews I can find for it though, are some quite scathing user reviews

  • Hmm if only Plex/unraid supported and GPU transcoding better…
