  • OOS? Are you able to get it delivered/C&C even if it states your location is out of stock?

    • Yes I ordered for click and collecr at my local store. due for pick up Friday given the holiday tomorrow

Store not currently in title - OfficeWorks.

Thanks, fixed that. Sorry new to sharing on ozbargain

  • Roughly speaking, how long are these expected to stay in stock seeing that it's now usurped by a newer generation?
I'm hoping to upgrade my iPad Air in a month or two.

    • +4

Unlikely to be still in stock then

  • No stock available in any metro stores in Victoria (as far as multiple clicks of the "Find more stores" button would take me), and isn't available online?

    How do I purchase one?

    • +2

I’ve gone through all store locations, as far as I can tell these are sold out

  • +1

    What’s the latest gen?

    • iPad Pro is in 4th Generation and 6th Generation dependent on size.

In this case, the 11 is in 4th Gen

  • +1

It appears as though stock depends on the state you are in. I am in Queensland and it is still showing stock for delivery or click and collect at my store although out of stock at my store currently. The 512gb version is out of stock for me tho so must be very dependent on the state you are in. Sorry for confusion

  • 1 and 2TB models look to be available online.. both wifi and LTE models

    • What is the use case for this? Just storing lots of media? IPad seems pretty limited for any serious work that would demand such high end specs

      • There's also have 16gb of RAM

  • +3

Only stock that showing on the website, but likely out of stock at those stores and delivery/C&C the best option.

  • What’s the best alternative to Apple’s Smart Folio case which retails for $129?

    • Keyboard version probably Logitech,
non keyboard there are a plethora on Amazon, including ones that provide decent protection for the Apple Pencil as well. I have been quite happy with the fintie and ESR cases for mine over the years and can be had for around $30.

Here is one I would think about buying if I needed one right now @$22

The 11” Logitech Smart Folio Combo case was selling as cheep as $155 for eBay Plus members just prior to Christmas - I had never seen the full Smart Folio Case with keyboard and touch pad for anything near this cheap, so I jumped on it. It was sent Express post and it arrived on the 28/12 four days after I ordered it.

It adds significant weight and bulk to the iPad Pro 11 but the keyboard is removable depending on how you use it.

These OW Prices prices are insanely cheap but I can’t find any stock near me.

I bought an M1 iPad Pro 11” 256GB with Wifi and Cellular several months ago for about $200 cheaper than Apple’s retail price. The speed is pretty amazing coming from at iPad Pro 10.5” 256GB WiFi + Cellular, but it had a lot of other extra features to offer, like a thunderbolt connector for example!

I have to say I was pretty disappointed at what Apple released in 2022 for the M2 IPads.
15% faster CPU and a highlight spot for the pencil And an updated 5G/BT/Wifi chip.

Is it just me or do others agree Apple made sone odd choices with products in 2022?

    • I think they figured a USA and potentially global recession was coming so didn’t both updating the iPad Pro 11” with the much anticipated MiniLED 11” screen as everyone had hoped but what Apple actually released was extremely disappointing IMHO.

I can’t see why they couldn’t put the pencil sensor on the M1 model unless there is something special about the screen?

It is so over powered for an iPad but being able to plug most USB-C devices via Thunderbolt in was a huge bonus when the M1 model came out. The M2 was such a let down. Either Apple barely gave it any attention or simply couldn’t get the parts they wanted because of on going supply chain issues. Apple are the only tech company that screw my hip Le suppliers over to ensure they get want they want for whatever is coming in this year’s model (well I’ve read this is the case).

I’m also really sick of Officeworks dumping out old and new products with these major discounts but barely having any stock on hand and no option to click and collect or even ship.

Living in a large regional city in Central Victoria their stock on hand of high value items continues to shrink all the time.

Deals like this annoy me because if I had wanted one there wasn't any stock anyway and trying to price match between OW and JB used to be easier but I’ve found JB stover isn’t that interested in price matching OW like they used to be (unless they have excess stock to get rid of as well), but often both will force include postage/fees you pay for postage from a warehouse if and that’s IF JB staff will price match. For the past 12-18 months unless a local store has stock on hand they just refuse. If you are lucky they might just add on freight. However OW don’t usually work like this with these deals. There’s no click and collect, no delivery and definitely no transferring between stores.

if can get someone @ JB to price match and in regional cities because there is only one store, if OW don’t have one in, more and more they just flat out refuse won’t price match and often OW take the same approach to JB. You generally have better luck calling their sales line and getting a code if you can convince them.

The Apple Folio Keyboard Combo has a slightly nicer keypress feel to it, but at around $180-$220 for the Logitech version compared to $450-$500 for the Apple Folio Keyboard, considering it’s had no update since it was released, but their cheap iPad Gen 10 has a brand new keyboard option with function keys someone in marketing has their head on backwards as looking at bundles and value, price and features, the iPad Air and Logitech Folio Keyboard Combo is a better choice and almost the same price point.

I still think the iPad Pro is a better device if you are going to be be heavy user, but it’s not a laptop replacement, not by the long shot.

As an Apple mobile device user (except laptops) for a long time, 2022 was the strangest Year yet for iPhones and iPads.

Apple’s Smart Keyboard Folio, until they add a row of function keys to the top is over priced and hasn’t been updated since it’s release and even then I still think it’s overpriced.

Having only had the Logitech Combo Touch Folio for iPad Pro 11”, it definitely does the job for me and I got it at a great price which offsets the higher price I paid for the M1 iPad Pro 11” 256GB Wifi + Cellular several months ago.

Everyone should get an opportunity to try out the keys on each first but at double the price I still can’t see how Apple justify their price. Just MHO though. Each to their own.

Getting screwed over in rural or regional areas on price matches when the competition store is out of stock when clearly you can pay freight is something Officeworks were doing and should still be, but sone JB staff seem reluctant to do - you have to ring their sales line and get a code if they will give you one.

Officeworks has screwed me over on not being able to get stock of currently model products and then having JB refusing to price match when it’s not in stock is infuriating.

It’s another example of how people in metro cities get “fairer deals” than what people who have been forced out of big cities because of outrageously high rents and stupidly unaffordable mortgages, into large regional cities that may only have one of each store.

Sorry, it just always gets on my nerves when I see Officeworks doing this. As if people are going to buy M2 iPad Pros when they are paying top dollar for not much extra in terms of features.

Whether Apple did it on purpose or had no choice we the product purchaser will never know, but I know multiple people who said. The iPhone 14 wasn’t worth it over the 13 which wasn’t really worth it over ther 12. Only the Pro models had decent feature upgrades and with the amount of people running around buying iPhone 13s around BF is sort of telling. Rumour has it the iPhone 14 Plus is selling less than the 12/13 Mini.

Another Apple fail? Makes sense if people want their entry level phone with a 6.7” screen. As I said I expected the M2 iPad Pro 11”” to get a MiniLED screen as not only myself but supposedly tens of thousands wanted that MiniLED screen and who are Apple actually listening too? - not my feedback, obviously.

I’ve drowned them in feedback for years and despite these devices may be designed 2-3 years ahead of time - they don’t go into production until staff have used these things in the real world. Well other Apple iPad and iPhone owners might agree that staff aren’t really testing these devices as they continue to ship products which seem to be half finished and take 2-3 months of software updates before sone major issues are fixed but there often can be hardware issues as well. When half a dozen other smart phone companies can put in Touch ID under a screen or on a power button, nope, Apple don’t appear to care or acknowledge the issue, they make lots of people go back to passcodes when people are wearing masks. I know it’s been improved a bit but it’s nothing mobile we had hoped for.

I get that there might have been all sorts of reasons no touchID on the screen but they had the tech for the power button - was it so hard to shrink it?

Sorry this has turned into a complainfest about Apple but the retailers deserve it as well as some of use can’t take advantage of these deals. Double whammy. I know I’m not the only one.

Thanks for reading. I chose The Logitech Smart Keyboard Combo myself on more than purely price, but I am particularly price sensitive at the moment.

Watch out for grey market Logitech resellers.

      Yes.

      Write about this please.

  • Been casually watching the apple refurb store for some of these (now) previous generation iPad Pros to turn up, but nothing. I don't usually monitor this type of stuff, nor have any experience…but I'd be keen to know if anyone has some insights into when Apple might feature some of these previous gen Pros on their refurb store? Or not at all? (there's been iPad Airs there for a while now, but no Pros). Thanks!

    • +1

There’s no way to predict refurb stock. Refurbs are replenished via returns so it’s a matter of these returned units making their way through the refurbishing pipeline to eventually show up on the refurb store.

I’d be grabbing one from Officeworks now if you need one and there’s stock for the specs you need. These are really well priced particularly given the price increase on the new models.

      • Got it, thanks. I thought they might push some superseded stock through the refurb store as well. Will go down the OW route. Cheers!

Thoughts on Wifi 1TB at $1,397? Is the extra worth it for 16 GB and 1 TB storage for long-term value?

    • +3

Really depends on what you plan to use it for as to whether you’d see a benefit from the extra RAM/storage.

If you’re the kind of person who looks after their equipment and gets many years of use from a laptop/phone/tablet then I’d argue it’s a really good buy regardless of your usecase.

    • +2

I'm honestly leaning towards this model. It's great value, future proof with the 16gb ram and 1tb, and is a grand cheaper than the M2 4th gen iPad. Will be my first iPad

Officeworks stores didn’t have stock but was available to order for click and collect and free delivery. I was able to price match at JB and used discounted gift cards to purchase.

Ordered the base model from local OW using Ultimate gc's from Woolies. Didn't realise online only deal can be done irl too. 'Use as many gc's as you wish in the store', said the person on the phone.

JB Hi-Fi kindly price-matched the iPad Pro 12.9 1TB WiFi Space Grey model. Their email came too late and I already purchased from OW. In case anyone needs to buy this exact model, you can click here. This single-use link is only valid till midnight tonight. Reply once you've used it.

Thank you kindly for sharing that. I have used the link.

  • Got 1TB $1437 on JB price match with 20x Ultimate gift card deal at Woolies (empires tomoz https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/752815).

    Insane price smh

  • Trying to price match Jb is like pulling teeth. If 1 IPad of any option is out of stock they’ll get too scared and say sorry it’s all out of stock.
