I dont think many people go Quad Share from previous posts so i feel this is not deceptive as such but almost there. Its specific marketing at its best.

If I were available I’d be booking the whole ship out.

Ozb bday meetup cruise, wonder if scotty will fund it

There will be battles to share rooms with @jv and @muzeeb

      • +24

I’d rather jump off the ship into the Indian Ocean than being assigned to @jv

        • Why Indian ocean?

          • +1

@ntt: Poor education leading to a lack of geographical knowledge.

            • @SolitaryMan: I though it south east sea and the Pacific ocean. Am I wrong somewhere?

        • Don’t worry @jv I’d share with ya buddy. Just don’t keep me away at night bashing away at the bold key.

  • +3

Oh my goodness! I would have taken the family with me if it was the other way around! Don’t know anything about cruise. So, is this always like this where people fly or reach by some other means and return in a cruise? Or this company has secured some seats and selling it off with a profit?

    • +2

Different cruises have different routes. Some do a loop, some go one way to fit in more stops.

  • +3

If one had the time, its cheaper than flying.

  • +5

Cheaper than renting a house these days. And way cheaper than renting a house + grocery + other bills. Probably 75% discount.

    • +1

      Are meals included?

      • +1

        Yes, all meals are included.

    • Still gotta get back, unless you plan on moving in with Schapelle.

  • I've never cruised before, so soz for the noobie question; does anyone know if free and reliable internet access is now standard on all cruises?

    • +9

      paid and slow internet access

    • +3

"Free and reliable internet!" Sorry, WIFI is always very expensive on ships. It is a revenue line that cruise lines can extract maximum leverage. They are the monopoly supplier on their own ships. You are not on land and able to shop around. Their attitude is "Take it or leave it.' And despite very high rates, they are often maddeningly slow. I have done many cruises and am on a cruise in the Pacific right now.

      • +1

Probably because they used satellite internet which is not cheap…

        .

      • You must have paid for their slow internet to keep up your ozbargain browsing obsession.

    • Buy a starlink RV and take it, it'll probably work out cheaper.

Cruises full of COVID. Crazy going anywhere near a boat. Friends just got back and 40% of passengers caught it. If you're +60 don't risk it. Long COVID is a huge health crisis.

    • +2

Even Spirit of Tasmania people were sick.

If u vaccinated u will be fine

      • +4

No. I'm young and was triple vaccinated with no pre-existing conditions going into the omicron wave and have had chronic fatigue for nearly a year since getting it. It (profanity) my memory. Never before had so many viruses as in the months after.

        • -6

          Vaccine is a scam.

I just feel sorry for those who fell for it with all the threats of unemployment and unable to travel etc

3 years later, life back to normal. You can even go to work if you are covid positive but no symptoms in some workplaces.

          • -1

            @easternculture: Dem vaccineggers

            • @easternculture: We've given up wasting our time on replies, so you just get the neg on it's own now 👌 There's usually enough negs to hide the incorrect and fantasy posts, so as a system it works quite well.

              • @Nom: 5 negs out of thousands of browsers/lurkers doesnt prove your theory, but if you say so lol.

Just means many agree with the above

      • -3

That is because they are giving you genetic material that tells your body to produce spikes.

Its those very spikes that cause all the problems in the body. Funny how people cant figure out 1+1=2.

But hey, Hazzard (who has no medical degree) and Chant (who barely practiced medicine) were the experts , right 🤣🤣🤣🤣

P&O are awful worst of the worst in the way of cruise brands.

Remember, in all things, "you get what you pay for." I have done heaps of cruises but don't know anything about this specific "bargain." Just don't expect a luxurious suite with a balcony. At this price it is most likely the smallest inside room, right next to the noisy engine room or some other undesirable problem or all the above. Perhaps it is a room where even a stowaway would beg to be let out before he goes mad. If you are going on holidays, pay for a decent experience. Why torture yourself just to save a few bucks. :)

    • "Why torture yourself just to save a few bucks. :)" It's the ozbargain way…

  • I had 2½ weeks on this a few years back for a Significant wedding anniversary. You can keep your cruise ships!

Cruised up and down the Norwegian coast then ran across the North Sea and up the Thames into Greenwich, London.

    https://classic-sailing.com/vessel/oosterschelde/

Went again a couple of years later, round the Outer Hebrides and had a trip ashore on St Kilda.

    • I don’t like cruise boats but looking At this I’d rather a cruise boat instead lol

Looks cool though being on an old classic ship but not my cup of tea, think I’d get really sea sick everyday 😬

      • +1

I didn't get seasick. The missus did for a bit but all sorted quick enough. The ship's motion under sail is completely different to when it was running on the engine: far more gentle (but a bit sloping at times 😄).
Thinking about saving some pennies to go again.

  • +1

It's ozcruising legit, they seem to have deals that are not on the ships main website?
