Thanks but i got new socks for Christmas.

      Hi dad!

  • Geez they were 10pk for $49 a few weeks ago.

  • I'm sure I've gotten 2 pairs for $15

This is a great deal tho, but 10 pairs is alot of work socks 🤣

    • +2

when you're actually working for 12 hours and your feet are soaked after, you need this many.

  • +1

    Damn! Cotton blend…

    I thought I was made for bush-walking this winter…

It's still a good deal tho.

    • too used to silky bamboo that protects my toes to ever go back

      • +1

Lol. Bamboo = rayon. That's all in your head.

        • Are they better & Cheaper than bamboo? Send me your best recommendations!

          • +3

@dbmitch: When bamboo is processed by chemicals it gets turned into rayon. There are no properties of the original bamboo left. I have no idea what my socks are, but don't be paying a premium for bamboo because nobody uses the mechanical machine that actually keeps it as bamboo

            • @justtoreply: Interesting comment…….

              Where is more information?

          • @dbmitch: if you are looking for better & Cheaper try Best & Less

      • +6

Rayon is silky - but wool washes out in rain/stream water, dries quicker than cotton [ tho slower than rayon], doesn't go stinky nearly as quick and keeps your tootsies warm even if they are wet.

I'd rather carry two pair of woollen socks and be covered rather than 10 pairs of cotton/synthetic and have a stench pack or bundles of wet socks in my pack.

[And I refuse to partake in the marketing decision to rebrand "rayon" as "bamboo" to greenwash it into sounding "natural".]

        • +1

Yeah. You can rotate two pairs of wool for a week before they need a wash.

          • @[Deactivated]: Haven't tried it myself. But keep seeing this in the Web that wool is the best all-around choice for insulation because it still provides warmth when wet.

            • +1

@PvsNP: I need cool socks for summer, not warmth lol

And I couldn't imagine wearing socks more than one day😬

            • +1

@PvsNP: Wool provides warmth when wet is because it doesn't absorb water so it dries faster. Cotton on the other hand absorbs water and so it stays wet. It's a reason why bath towels are made of cotton and not wool or polyester

    • Yeah cotton gives me blisters. When these get old they go hard and crusty.

  • Are these fairly thick socks?

    • Hi There

These socks are more on the thicker side.

    • No shipping charge on mine (to WA).

  • -1

how do they compare to 5 Pack Work Socks
    $12.00 from Kmart?

  • These socks are thick and keep you warm, but they are way too thick for me. I found my feet sweat even in winter with these. Also they are so thick you might need to go half a size up in some shoes (which is actually the only reason I still wear them, as some shoes I have would be too big with normal socks)

  • Wow, what's the markup on the RRP, 400%? Zasel are 300% cheaper.

They seem good for walking around at home in, during the cooler months. Black is great; white is difficult to remove the dirt stains on the soles.

Nothing like a fresh pair of explorers!

  • The best thing about explorers was the dual layer & I thought this was cotton & wool.
This says they are cotton & nylon - have they changed?

  • Must be expired
Added 20 paurs to cart to replace all my old thread bare work socks

    Total
    $758.45
    You saved $620.55!

    • +2

Uhh, you added 200 to your cart.

    • +1

      Yeah its 20 x 10 pairs.
Hehe you didnt buy it, did you?

      Name checks out at least

    @gkoutau
Mate, any plans to add more size 6-10? Looks like missed out.

    • I want to know as well …

      • +1

Hey guys, we listed a handful more packs of 6-10. Get in while they last.

        Thanks for your support

        • Excellence, thank you sir. Order 20 pairs !

  • I've been rotating through six pairs of Belvedere Navigators 11-14 (80% wool, 20% nylon) socks. They're thick and good for cold days. They're still warm and comfortable after three years.

I switch to Explorer socks when I want to wear something thinner and cooler. They're less comfortable over time (3+ years) and sometimes I'll wear the heels out.

And then thin Bonds socks if it's 38C+.

Might check those out. Explorers are absolute rubbish these days. Mine get holes within a year nowadays. I have a pair that are literally 20 years old, I bought them in uni. They’re so old, they’re bright orange, like the fruit. They haven’t made that colour in over a decade. And they are still wearable but they do finally have a hole. Went downhill once they canned the Holeproof brand.

Anyway I’m interested to try out Heat Holders, the originals are plastic but you can get wool blend ones:

  • If you ever have the chance try some rabbit fur socks. Most luxurious feeling for your feet.

  • got these when they were 49$, can vouch for the quality. aramex shipping, not so much.

    • +1

There's a good 10% chance you get your item.

Zasel do good deals. A kid in the family wears socks like they’re disposable. God a bunch of pairs of socks for him as a present for his parents. 40 identical pairs of bonds ankle socks came out cheaper than getting one parent drunk to calm them down from grumping about how he can never find socks.

  • Got me researching Merino wool socks now, keen to find low cut or no show as in Europe I'll be walking alot!

    Any recommendations?

    • Big brands are icebreaker, smartwool, bridgedale. Despite what oldmate above says about Bamboo being rayon and all that, I still find the Bridgedale Bamboo socks the best - I picked up a whole bunch for cheap years ago and they were my daily drivers on a mine site.
