You may need 10 words but you also need price in title, (shipping inclusive or not?) etc

  • +3

    Price in title please matey

  • How much?

  • +6

Thanks scrimshaw for fixing price in title. Was still doodling with the description.

  • +9

Total price if u buy the parts yourself is over $1k

  • +6

Why aren't we seeing these sorts of systems but with gen 12 intel or something?

    • +7

Not sure why the downvotes, it's an honest question? These deals always have AMD CPU..

      • +3

probably because Intel arent dumping cpus on the market

      • +9

It's probably because of… The price

    • +6

equivalent 12th gen boards are expensive versus the AM4 boards

      • +3

Fair enough. I'm still using an old i5-7500 with a 1070 but if the right setup came up at a decent price I'd probably upgrade. Hopefully the 12th gen prices come down a bit, seeing as they're old now. Have always had better results with intel over AMD so that's why I'd prefer to stay on that side of the fence.

      • +1

        Correct….

Also, Intel's CPU cost more than an equivalent AMD's CPU, at retail prices.

It's common that many 'Low end' gaming-PCs use AMD's CPU & Mobo to keep the total cost down, as per seen on OzBargain.
Here is an example of an Intel path-> https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/731440

There are exceptions, & they are most likely due to reducing Intel's prices to clear excess stock.

Keep in mind it's the 8gb 3060, which performs significantly slower than the original 12gb 3060. Also isn't a fantastic machine learning budget card like the 12gb version.

    • +7

Thanks for the reminder because I keep forgetting there are two 3060 versions

      • +7

nvidia: Oh, let's unlaunch the 3080, because that's confusing. (not because of the backlash)

also nvidia: Launches card with the same number but different versions, and have done in the past.

  • This oe the techfast deal for 888?

    • +9

TechFast. 3060ti is much more powerful than a 3060. It's closer to the 3070 than it is the 3060.

      • +6

This is also a 3060 8gb which actually is a fair bit worse than a 3060 12gb (which in turn is worse than the 3060ti).

    • -7

This deal is cheaper than TechFast with better components and better looking case. GPU slightly slower but who cares. Free pickup option is good for locals. This has 2 year’s warranty vs TechFast 1 year

      • +4

Gpu isn't just a little slower. It's much slower.

The big bonus about the BPC deal is that you can upgrade the CPU to the 5600 - highly recommend this.
        Shame there's no 3060ti option.

        • +1

The 5600 upgrade is nearly 10% the cost of the base system, probably not going to be worth that unless you're going to also upgrade GPU as well. The performance gap with a 6600 XT (1080p) is less than 10% in games on average. You'll gain a lot more bang for your buck spending that cash on the GPU first for gaming, or on a different CPU entirely if you do need strong non-gaming performance for video editing and stuff.

      • +6

The 3060 Ti is 20-30% faster than the 3060 12gb, and the 3060 8gb (this card) is something like 10-30% slower than the 3060 12gb.

    • 3060 Ti is what originally 3070 was. it's a lot better than an 8gb 3060

  • +1

Not sure why my other comment got smashed with downvotes, it's an honest question? These deals always have AMD CPU..

    • +2

      AMD is cheaper

    • +3

Welcome to OZB. I'll share some of the down votes.

      Fanboy are rife here.

      Come at me.

      • +1

Yea I honestly don't care, just curious why there are rarely any deals with Intel. Would be good to see one from each camp whenever a deal gets posted.

        • +1

I offended people because I bought my daughter a pair of Nike shoes.

          Some people have serious problems.

I agree 100%. The 12th Gen Intel products are highly rated for both value and performance. Turned it around big, makes my 11600k hurt more.

    • +2

LGA 1200 is pretty much EOL, pretty sure most retailers aren’t ordering much of these related products. LGA 1700 is pretty budget friendly compared to AM5 counterpart, but you can’t build a system with it for $799. Only 1 option left for budget build.

    • I bought a new Ryzen 5500 off aliexpress sale early jan for $109 shipped ($120 shipped today). China is flooded with these cpus atm.
These seem to be flooding the market now pretty cheap but once their gone, the AM5 options are going to be expensive.
Same for the RX6600 flood. Good deals to be had now but once they are done, it'll be back to gtx 1650 and rtx 3050 "deals"

  • my grandma needs a new computer, is this any good?

    • No

    • +1

Don't ask questions mate, you'll have the geek police on you!

    • +3

my grandma needs a new computer

      No she doesn't

    • +4

Depends on what you think your Grandma needs her computer for.
If it's just her doing some browsing, checking email, and 'typical' games (mahjongg, solitaire), then this is massive overkill (I have my inlaws do that on a Core2Quad).
Might as well get her one of the many refurb deals ranging between $120 and say $300.
      If she's more of a 'power-user' (word-processing, spreadsheets) then I think it's still overkill, but she's also future-proofing.
(and if you're looking for a 'backup gaming PC' when you're not at home, this will play the not overly demanding games reasonable OK I guess…)

    • +7

Yesh it is my good sir. What games is she in to?

  • +4

8gb version, makes sense RE price now
    Pass.

  • Does anyone know if this comes with a power cable?! I can’t find anywhere to say if it does? I been out of the off game a long time.

Also any recommendations for a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card?

    • +1

Should come with the power cable, pretty sure all PSUs come with one so would be pretty petty if it wasn't included

  • Dumb question here. Does this come with Windows 10 or 11 pre-installed?

    • Nah.

    • Would probably come with unactivated 10

    • We do provide free pre-installation of Windows 10 and 11 (Unactivated).
Please specify which version you want when you place the order.

      Cheers!

    • Keep on mind that this isn't really an issue since you can buy a legit windows key online pretty cheap (less than 20 bucks, IIRC?)

  • How does this compare to their previous $800 one? https://www.bpctech.com.au/product/sv-es6600-01-siren-vortex…

  • +1

Avoid this, don't support NVIDIA or companies selling the 8gb 3060 card. It performs significantly worse than a 12gb 3060.

Techfast 3060ti system is much better value.

  • +1

Price now cut from $799 to $699, with same components as before.

    • This is a rediculiously low price, is there even any profit?

  • Does this include the RGB fans installed on the case that are pictured? I cannot see these listed in the specifications or on the case item details.

    • Hi MrGt420,

The case comes with 3 pre-installed ARGB fans.

      Cheers,
      BPC Team

      • Thank you!

Could an upgrade option for the GPU also be included for the 3060 12gb?

  • Hi Rep. How soon can we expect you to ship this (no upgrades, just stock version as advertised).

    I live in Melbourne.
