The CPU is weak, search 'R7 5700X vs i5 10600KF'
Mobo Gigabyte Z590 D: may want to review its VRM thermal effectiveness, features etc.
May want to consider this deal R7 5700X-> https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/759601

  • R7 5700X vs I5 10600KF both same price… just wondering for purely a gaming stand poiint.. whats better.

    • 5700x is probably better.

    • +1

      I'd go 5700X

    • +5

The 5700X is better in every metric, single thread, multi core, energy efficiency.

    • I always thought intel would be better for gaming cause most games are optimized for intel and I usually see intel as the minimum system requirement on steam

      • No. There's more to it than merely AMD vs Intel, like cache and the like. It's why the 5800X3D curb stomps a lot of other CPUs at gaming performance.

      • It's not that games are optimised for Intel, the multicore design of intel chips (ringbus) is superior in gaming to the design used in AMD CPUs which requires communication across chiplets.

In the 5000 series AMD started putting 8 cores on one chiplet which has completely removed the disadvantage (3000 series has maximum 4 cores per chiplet)

  • Me likey.

  • The 10600 isn't a particularly high power CPU - would definitely go for a good noctua tower instead of an aio in a case like this.

      Or a Thermalright PS120 SE?

10600K can get hot if overclocked, but i agree, a 120mm AIO is a pretty crap

      • Yeah you're not space constrained, you're not thermally constrained to what air coolers can do, so I'd argue for 90% of people, an air cooler is a better option.

    • +3

Hands down the 5700X over 10600KF.

      • I thought so, thanks very much

  • Is this Premium?

    • +1

      Some people like premium accessories

      • When you see premium parts you see a higher price people on this page don't like that 😂

  • I've never used an AIO liquid cooler and was wondering do they require maintenance cleaning?

    • +3

The water part is a sealed unit that you can install and forget.

The heat exchanger fins and cooling fans will still need de-dusting from time to time, just like an air cooler.

  • +3

I will get negative ranked if i say the old hardware is not good, and this is only a stock taking offer, not really a deal. Everytime…. But i still believe it is the truth in my understanding.

    • Depends. Look at flop/$ and make a judgement call. If it's the same as a 13th gen, then why buy older stuff? If you're getting a 20% better flop/$, then do you really care if it's a bit older?
