"Deal is for new customers only - not a recharge. You will need to port out if you’re existing Boost customer."

Contacting support and they'll port you without having to port out of boost/telstra.

    • +1

My boost recharge expires in 21 days. I received an SMS today saying I'll get $30 off when I recharge $200 using credit card or paypal by 7/04.

      • -2

        pog u

      • same expiry date, but my SMS was "20 GB bonus data, no discount"
I'll switch to Woolies Mobile, Boost does not worth it anymore for me.

  • You don't need to port out. Just contact customer support via live chat and they will take care of it. Done it several times without issue.

On another note, the default is registered post for $5. I was a bit quick on the trigger and didn't deselect that. Don't make the mistake I did!

    • Can you do it with the $30 prepaid?

      • Try with live chat and tell us!

    • so you buy the new sim and contact customer support to just add that to your existing account?

      • I just chatted with customer support - existing customers can get the deal but you need a new SIM

"Yes, that offer is for new customers only but of course existing customers can also avail it. However, the order must be placed online with a new sim."

Update - they checked my account - because I have account for a while they applied discount in existing SIM both both my services

    • Just tried now with the boost facebook chat and they said i had to be a non-customer for 3 months.

Any deals for the $300, mines runs out this month

    • +1

I think this was on special from boost itself and there was a cashrewards or shopback offer too just have a quick look.

      • Thanks, just realised mine runs out in may so I'll keep an eye out . Have seen $300 as cheap as $218 via eBay with promos codes

        • Is that still available? I paid $216-ish last year, would happily pay the same amount.

  • +3

Isn’t this Lucky Mobile’s normal price? It’s definitely been like this for at least a week…

  • I just activated a boost sim today and read some new to me info:

150Mbps download speed cap will apply on 4G and 5G networks from 4 April 2023. Your speeds may vary based on conditions in your area.

    • +1

You are lucky if you get that much. I get speeds of 400mbps when I do speed test. Connect to steam and download a game and it throttles down to 60mbps.

      • Are you sure you're not mixing up Mbps to MB/s? Math checks out lol

        • +1

400 Mbps should give me around 45 to 50MB/s. But I get around 7 MB/s as it throttles down to 60 Mbps.

    • I thought if you start a 12 months prepaid plan before 4th April you will get the 5g uncapped until the end of your plan.

Confirmed price match at Office works $161.40

    • instore

      • online

        • Just using the chat? Do they organise a click and collect for you/put the sale and payment through?

    • Officeworks Kew would not price match on Sat 18 March.

Manager claimed that lucky mobile is a store in a shopping centre so that doesn’t count as something they would match.

      • +1

Unlucky, go to Officeworks Carnegie. most of our staff will price beat luckymobile with no questions unless you buy multiple at the same time

  • if you want to port out, grab any starter pack from Coles, for Amysim or Lebara, its $6-8 for whole month use, after using it port back into Boost using this yearly sim card.

  • Do boost have international roaming?

    • +3

      Yes, as add on.

    • Can receive SMS without issue. Can also use wifi calling.

      • This only works if you're connected to wifi. Data connection via 2nd sim (eg. Local sim card) won't trigger voice/sms over wifi

        • It did for me in Indonesia and New Zealand. It probably depends on the phone.

          • @sween64: I'm using Samsung S22, and this roaming sim
Tried to activate Boost sim while TravelKon e-sim active as primary data, nothing came through :(

            • @OzBestDeal: My last two travel SIM purchases were via TravelKon. My Boost SIM was already active when I left the country though.

  • I know Mount Gravatt officeworks (part of garden city) in QLD will not price match this, they claimed the item has no specific product code therefore wont price match. So dont waste time trying with this particular store.

    • +4

Report them , ring the head office number

    • +2

Or…. order through their online price match number, and pickup at mount gravatt officeworks….. and give them the finger when you pick it up!!

  • Does anyone know if sharing data is possible with Boost? I have three mobiles to bring across and it would be great if the 3 x 140GB = 420GB data could be dispersed/ shared across all three.

    cheers 8)

    • +2

Might be worth asking boost customer service, but my guess would be no

    • +3

      No.

  • +1

    Am I missing anything here
Other deals (eg Kogan) have 500GB data for $300 and get another free.

I realise this is Telstra network vs Vodafone for Kogan, but if you use mostly in the main city/suburbs this Boost deal seems expensive to me 🤔

    • +1

Well one is $161.40 with pricematch vs $300. Yeh, I think you are missing something

    • +4

Kogan is meh, even in the city/suburbs. Used it for a year and not satisfied at all

    • I realise this is Telstra network vs Vodafone for Kogan, but if you use mostly in the main city/suburbs this Boost deal seems expensive to me 🤔

I guess not everyone lives in the 'main city/suburbs'? 🤷‍♂️

  • Dang.. My plan expire on 5th July.

  • Does it expire 1 June or 30 June?

    • +1

My Officeworks pricematch SIM expires Dec 2023

  • Quick question, does the 365 day period begin from the day of purchase or the day of activation. Thinking of getting this but my billing cycle just began and I can't get pro rata so I wanna wait most of the month out

    • +2

      Day of activation

  • Must activate or recharge by 3 April! Mine expired in June! Passed!

    • Isn't it based on the SIM expiry date ? ie: mine listed as Dec 2023, I thought I have time until Dec 2023 to activate this. Isn't it?

      • from boost website: https://boost.com.au/collections/all/products/200-prepaid-si…
        $200 Recharge/SIM: First recharge by 3 April 2023.

        • The data plan will change if you recharge after 3/4/23
          We might get more/less data
But the sim can be activated any time until the expiry given at the back of the card and from the activation date we have 365 days unlimited calling and texting and whatever data is being offered at the time of activation on the boost website

  • Just called Officeworks Lewisham and they said they can’t do price beat because the product has a condition (the new customer one). But from the way they said it, I think it depends on who you talk to. Some staff might be okay with it.

    • Sounds like an odd excuse, which makes no sense to me. I would call the next closest store for a price match

  • How do you get officeworks price beat online? Dont want to leave my house

    • You pick up the phone and start calling Officeworks…

      • They agreed to price beat but said its in store only and i have to come to them

  • Is there any word on when Boost will get esim? I have a feeling iPhone 15 wont have a sim card slot globally

  • Bought this last year and got Boost Customer Service to recharge without needing to port out. Fast forward a year later, Customer Service chat can't tell me what date exactly my 1 year plan expires, because my sim card is apparently another phone number, which expired a year ago, and they can't help me.

Yet I make and receive phone calls on my number daily. The Customer Service person was very confused, and promptly ended the chat. Oh well, try again another day.

    • +1

The Customer Service person was very confused, and promptly ended the chat.

      Same. Bye

  • Hello.

Was wondering if I could get some some help. How do I port out of my current sim and keep my same number?

    • When you follow the instructions to activate your new SIM card you will automatically port out of your existing telco and port in to your new telco. During this process you will be given a choice to keep existing number or use the new number on the SIM card. Just follow the instructions…

Just called officeworks ealrier today and the person told me Officeworks is no longer price-beating Lucky Mobile because there is no indication about how long their offer will last, there are dead links on their website and they cannot confirm it is an identical product. I dont know if they are being genuine.

I tried calling Lucky Mobile on the phone number under contact information on their page, but it always says the line is busy. Has anyone had any experience buying from them? Seems kind of dodgy.

    • Same thing happened to me, but i explained to the staff member that lucky mobile do show the expiry date on their website, additionally officeworks does not provide information on their website about when their sim expires or how many GB it is. After that they just apologised and said we cant do it

    • +1

I got the same ring around bs story at office works Preston.
Initially “oh head office said we can’t price match any boost mobile products to LM”
Then “ Preston and Bundoora aren’t allowed to price match this product”
And finally oh they don’t list the <internal office works model number> on their site so we have no way of confirming it’s the same $200 SIM card.

Officeworks are usually super reasonable when price matching on local places so long as the other shop is in stock …. Not anymore it seems…

      • They started saying this on the monday of 13/03/23 but on saturday 11/03/23 physical stores were still willing to price match, the reason I waited until monday was because I wanted to buy online so only way was to call head office, but I think on monday they added the rule

  • +2

I called head office since thats the only way to price beat and still buy online. He told me that they are not price beating lucky mobile at all, strict instructions. First he said theres no info on luckymobile website about how many GB or the expiry date, but its the same thing on officeworks website. Still may be able to do it instore but not sure.

  • +2

Just tried to price best at Ringwood office works. Was told that lucky mobile is black listed right away when I stated who they were going to price beat.

    • +1

      Try another store…

  • Just called Office works, they said their Price Beat team will not consider LuckyMobile .. :(

  • Has someone actually bought this from LuckyMobile ?

    • +2

If you can’t price match Officeworks then the next cheapest would be on eBay and using the $5 off monthly coupon as an eBay plus member. From memory it comes to around $165

      • +1

I just bought one of the 200 sims from Ebay store. Arrived very fast, in a few days.

Sim wouldn't activate on the Boost website (would get all the way to end step then website breaks), spoke with Boost customer support, verified all information and they said wait 24 hours and try again through support chat.

All activated today, so it's no scam although on their Ebay listing they say "Return is not accepted because of activation problem with Boost system." So I guess that failure is a common thing.

Anyway, no bill for 12 months, yes please!

  • As an Officeworks Manager, I can confirm all stores have been instructed through a bulletin that we are NOT to price match with Lucky Mobiles. They have investigated, and it is a scam.

    • +1

If you say so mr new account

    • +1

what scam? They have ebay store as well and people have been buying for many years from them.

    • +1

I ordered via LuckyMobile, they dispatched it today. Will update how it goes. Doesn't look like a scam so far.

    • +1

Not a scam ! .. Ordered received and activated. !!

    • I can confirm that you are a scammer!!!

  • +2

Got this price matched at an OW in Melb CBD on Friday, no questions asked

  • Does boost include 5g, or is it 4g only?

  • Just tried price matching at Alexandria NSW, no luck.

  • My Data just ran out on my amaysim before my plan date is up, and I want the $300 boost around low $200's. happy to wait for a deal.

Is it worth getting one of the 28 day plans for cheap? Will it be a hassle to upgrade to a year plan after? then getting the bigger Sim when there is a deal? Kind of annoying not having data

    • When is your plan date up?

Either buy extra data from current telco or switch over a little earlier to avoid the hassle. I don’t know of any boost $300 deals at the moment. Good luck

      • I have 100 days left of Amaysim so end of the year hahaha. Might of gone through the data a bit fast.
Im at the far end of the house so turn of wifi as its super slow. Might install a router or repeater down the end tonight.

Just bought the $9 sim with cashback offer, bargain. hopefully another deal comes through soon
