This is the first Gen SE, if i have understood correctly.

      2020

    • The same model, JB still sells them for $468.

Not much difference to 2022 model

    • Apple claims gen 2 is 20% faster.

      • Meh

If my watch was 20% faster I'd be disappointed ..

upgraded from 4 to 7 recently, I think personally the always on display was the nicest feature. a bit longer Bluetooth range, and more responsive in Spotify which is what i use mainly. I know this deal is the SE, but i feel like the main usage would be as good as the main series.

The difference between various generations of the Apple Watch is mainly attributed to its auxiliary features, which are not always documented on paper.

Always on display is a no brainer. Stupid that the older models just turn the display off and you have to do the exaggerated "check your watch" gesture to wake it up.

Perhaps a good entry-level Apple Watch for those first time users?

    • +1

or a perfect watch to move to if you were happy with the series 3

  • $449 for the newer model which came out just last year. Is this worth it?

  • Compared to the latest normal model, what is this missing?

    • Just a newer chip really. Plus a year or two of extra support.

Looks like Big W have the new 40mm SE for $399….online only. $449 for the 44mm online only. GG not really a bargain for 2020 stock….

    • That's normal prices.

  • +2

What about $50 StoreCash? Wouldn't it make this a bargain?

  • Does GPS basically mean cellular? So you get one of those watch data only Sim plans for $10 and its internet connected? Can you stream music from it?

    • No, GPS is GPS, you want the GPS + Cellular and then you get a $5 eSim from Telstra, Optus or Vodafone only, no other providers offer this function, yet

      • Got it, was thrown off by the fact it can take calls and do SMS.

I guess that's kind of cool plus you don't need to pay a monthly cost for the data.

        • Yeah you need your phone with you still as it uses bluetooth for connection

      • wait so you can't take calls on this one unless you're with one of those providers?

        • You can take calls and sms if you phone is nearby, uses bluetooth for connection

  • Get the new SE.
