Kale and Quinoa Burgers $1 (Was $7.20) @ Woolworths

440

Was at Woolies looking on what to spend my min spend of $40 to get my 2000 bonus points on my one of many EDR cards, which had over $40 worth of rewards dollars to spend
I came across these bad boys so I broaden 40 of them - had to rearrange my chest freezer so suffering from frostbite

Still plenty left at my local but also available online

Good reviews online plus my fussy kids approved with the addition of some sauce

Healthy and made in Australia Austria

'Half price' lol. Maths is not someones strong suit.

  • +2

    Made in 'Austria'

    • +5

Damn tunnel vision when it comes to bargains - happy with Austria - they probably have higher standards

    • +2

Well a company called Strong Roots does seem unlikely to be based in Australia.

      • +2

this is clearly the worst thing to come out of Austria… maybe ever

          Adolf

          • @TEER3X: Adolf was vegetarian, this is vegan.

            • +1

@Jef Tino: It's a total myth that Hitler was a vegetarian. For most of his life he ate meat. In the last few years of his life his doctors advised him to avoid eating meat, which he reportedly did do to a degree; but for most of his life he certainly ate meat.

          • @TEER3X: What do you mean? He was the best at what he did 🤷🏻‍♂️

            • @The Judge: You mustn't have heard of Operation Barbarossa

  • Showing as $3.60 online - what am I missing?

    • +3

If you buy it at that price, you will be missing exactly $2.60 amigo.

      • Can't argue with that haha

  • so I broaden 40 of them

Wow that's daring, do you even know what they taste like and if you'll like them 😂

    • Thats always the risk with bargains
Looked up reviews and took a gamble - paid off this time

      • How big is the burger portion/size wise compared to a maccas cheeseburger? Just curious if they're filling: whether 1 burger is enough for dinner for average adult

        • As with a 'maccas cheeseburger', of course '1 burger' is NOT enough for dinner for an average adult.

    Had these before, quite nice.

    • +2

I agree, and usually I hate 'rabbit food' like this. These are indeed surprisingly nice. Especially when supplemented with some cheap ham, bacon, cheese, etc. (you get the idea) …

  • Is it a frozen burger that needs oven to bake?

    • airfryer should do it

it doesnt look very 'dense' like a real meat burger

  • +2

It's loaded with salt, so should be good

    ngl this looks completely pharkked

i mean.. i'd spend a dollar to try it out and i would feed it to a 5yr old who doesnt know better and it is healthy

but man that dont look good

    • +10

It looks like chopped up vegetables in a crispier coating

Are you similarly distressed by spring rolls

    • +1

      It’s actually quite nice.

      • Yep, agreed. I was genuinely surprised by how nice these things are.

  • +1

These a great! I really enjoy them. I saw this on special on the website but stock checker says not in stock anywhere that I can see. Probably one of those things where you have to be lucky to see them in store.

  • What section should I find these in?
Have looked everywhere, this thing at Once.

    • +1

      Freezer section

      • Yeah thanks
Found the section but no stock
There was pumpmkin and spinach flavour full price

        • Yeah stock checker shows no stock - I saw this price earlier but didn’t post as deal as I don’t think it’s in stock in many places.

        • Same, that's all I could find in store. Damn

  • +1

These taste great. Our Woolies stopped selling them a year or two ago so I thought maybe they weren’t made anymore … nah, just our big store has a crap range.

  • Only found 1 box left in Fitzroy. Seemed that an OzBargainer ransacked the deal as the pumpkin flavoured ones were scattered all over the freezer.

    • It was @jv

  • Tried mine today and it's really good. My local had stock but expiry is April and hence why I think it is now heavily discounted

  • Thanks OP. Ordered for click and collect and had it for lunch.
FYI mine had a best before end of March 2023, so that’s probably why they’re on clearance.

  • Went to Coburg Station which said it had stock but nothing there. Woolies stock checker really sucks.

    Also no $1 schnitzels .

  • The Fitzroy Woollies had them for 65c. If nothing else I will smother them in my home made relish.

  • Showing as $1.44 in most Melbourne WW stores. Still a great deal!

    • The 65c was the March use by date. The $1.44 ones in Fitzroy are April. They are pretty good with a decent relish. I went back and bout some of the $1.44 ones.

  • Still available in Wollies Lennox Head
