Google Pixel 7 5G 128GB $799/256GB $929, Pixel 6a $549 Delivered @ Google Store

1160

Google Pixel 6a and 7 series are currently both $200 off again at the Google Store.

Don't forget the extra 10% back as Store Credit, if you are paying for the monthly 2TB Google One plan!

Hope this helps someone.

EDIT: Slightly cheaper at Officeworks, as per Google Stores price match system, they will refund the difference after your Google store order has shipped.

This combined with the 10% credit back with 2TB Google One plan would make the Google Store a better deal IMHO…

wouldn't it be cheaper via the Harvey norman Optus plan?

    • +4

      This deal?

That's for the Pro, this has no credit check etc etc

      • That's true, extra credit check.. Might not suit all

Personally, I used it at Harvey Norman and upgraded for an extra $149 for 256 Pro and $828 ETC (less Amex credits.. not applicable to all). But still achievable to get 7Pro 256GB for $977 + credit checks

        • Will the service be automatically cancelled if I switch to a different provider?

          • @ScrollEvery2minutes: I made a mistake using my "personal number" and took an extra day to cancel

            I would suggest:
            a) Choose your Phone
            b) Ask for a $69 Optus Promo Plan for this deal
            c) Get a new number
            d) Activate the service
            e) Same day go home and cancel the service via Optus chat, no need to wait for porting

            • @777: When you cancelled the service via Optus chat, did you have to settle the total upfront or was it a monthly fee?

              • @Dr-Bargain: Just got the pixel 7 pro for 828 via optus plan. No upfront payment and cancellation fee on same day is 828

                • @wozz: Do you get a GST invoice for $828? I wonder if one can claim GST refund via TRS.

                  • @karma25: It has gst but not sure if it is that clear cut for TRS

              • @Dr-Bargain: Not upfront was sent a bill after a month

  • Does Office Works, JB or Harvey Norman price beat google store?

HN is same price, Officeworks a drop cheaper, JB HIFI may price match…

  • Any feedback on the Pixel 7 battery life? Reviews indicate disappointing results…

I think its OK overall. I just don't like the "slow" charging, usually takes 1h40m from almost 0% to fully charge. Its a bit letdown for me as I came from a Mate20 Pro. But says, you can get about 50% after the first 30mins of charging.

      • They really need to introduce faster charging this year

      • +1

Cheers for the response. Let’s say phone is fully charged, around what percentage would it be at night say 9-10pm?

        • +3

Very hard question to answer, as everyones usage is different…

          • @Uncle Roger: Fair enough - intention was to see if others were able to get through the day without scrambling for the charger come evening..

            • @MrMoist: I think you should be fine. It should get you through the day. I would say from 8am to 9-10pm, it would be somehow less than 10% left. Last time i was on aprox 4h screen on time when battery hits 20% mark.

    • +2

If you're a really heavy user it might not last but anything below that and you're fine

    • I'm a pretty heavy user and I think the battery life is fine, obviously more would always be welcome, but it's not the sort of phone you will always be worried about the battery on.

      • refund in cash or google credit?

        • Credit

          • +1

@Ventak: I dont think google credit is 1:1 with cash, unless there's something that's an everyday purchase? Maybe Google One, but I personally use survey $ for that.

      • If i sign up for Google One now, apparently I won't get the credits until one month later (because there's a first month free trial thing). Is there a way to skip the free trial and just pay up front so i get the 10% credits now?

Comes without a plug pack and screen protector.

As do most phones these days…

  • JB price matched Google store price. I just collected the 128GB Pixel-7 from JB at $799.

    • Good to know! Helpful with discounted gift cards

Has someone got links to what discounted GC are available at the moment? Thanks

Personal experience of moving from a OnePlus 6T to a pixel 6a: photos are better but otherwise I've been a bit underwhelmed. Kind of tempted to pass the 6a to the Mrs and pick up a new OnePlus. Not that the 6a is a bad phone, but the OnePlus had some handy little features like lock screen gestures that there's no good alternative for on the 6a

I went from a LG g8s to the Pixel 6a. The 6a feels very cheap in comparsion. The speaker is atrocious - non-existant mid to low range and the max volume is pitiful. The battery life is better (due to 4410 mAh vs the LGs 3450mAh). Photos wise I feel like the LG was better, but I prefer googles cam app. Like you I'm tempted to move it on.

      • +2

Good to know. Still rocking the G8S over here, and am inclined to keep doing so. The cost-to-benefit ratio is just not there for me yet. The Pixel 7 Pro almost had me, almost, but then I decided that I like the $1200 more. And there is nothing in the cheaper price ranges that seems to touch the G8S for me, yet.

    • Oneplus 6t and 7 pro were the last flagships worth getting. And there's not much you can upgrade to. Pixel 5 still imo the best with unlimited HQ photos and no subscription crap they try to force upon you. Hence I'm still holding on to that and I don't like the Tensor chip. Let's see what Google brings on pixel 8

Ends of support is this year October

  • Considering Pixel 7 for my wife… moving from a Samsung S10. Was looking at the Pixel Pro 128 but wasn't sure if it were better to look at the Pixel 7 128… open to advice?

    • +1

P7P is very big. Depends if your wife wants a big or small device. Having said that P7 is not that small, certainly bigger than S10.

  • +2

A Samsung Galaxy S23 will get four Android updates and five years of security updates — guaranteed. Despite using its own chips, Google will only distribute three Android updates while matching Samsung on security. This means that an S23 can run Android 18 with one more year of life, while the Pixel 7 will be stuck at Android 17 and finished.

pretty slack being its their os

Man, I'm going round and round trying to decide on what phone to get - Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S23, Asus Zenfone 9…lots of stuff I can appreciate, and then there's like one or two things on each one that give me pause.

    • Buy one of each and enjoy the besties:)

    • Zen 9 should be ut completely - only 2 years of software updates and they are already leaking Zen 10 coming soon plus their stock cases which is the only place you can find their case start at $79 each, no competition as no one is making cases for Zen 9

    • Thought the same :D Don't forget there's alao Oneplus 10.

  • Pixel 6a/7a or Samsung A54?

    • Avoid 6a and A54.
7a may be good when it comes out.
Maybe I'm spoilt but I cannot stand plastic materials on mid range phones.

  • Have the Pixel 7 with ALDI and wifi calling isn't activated

  • Anyone have the 10% off can share with me?
