This deal is back and about A$30 cheaper than last time making it excellent value for a portable monitor if you're tempted to get one. I already own two portable monitors and at this price even I'm tempted for another.

Featuring a 15.6" IPS display with 1920x1080 FHD resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, 72% NTSC (100% sRGB) colour gamut, 300cd/m² brightness, dual speakers and supports VESA mounting. There's two USB-C ports for display/power and power input, PD passthrough charging, Mini HDMI and a 3.5mm audio jack.

A HDMI to Mini HDMI cable, USB-C to USB-C cable, USB-A to USB-C cable and AU plug wall charger come included.

The cheapest option is "Color: No case stand". With a stand it's US$70.97 (~A$106.49) and with a foldup case it's US$75.20 (~A$112.84).

    HD you've done it again.

This code can't be used in combination with other offers.

    • Have you used the code before or have a new user coupon applied?

Could this be a decent option for a portable DEX setup with a S23 Ultra?

    • I was wondering the same, say compared to a lapdock/nexdock at triple the price. Would still be cheaper if you were to buy a usbc hub, keyboard mouse and power brick but not so sleek or portable.

      • Finding a USB-C hub that has passthrough charging, USB-C video out and a couple usb ports is harder than I thought. Might need to just use a bluetooth for a DEX setup.

    • Yes

  • Clear

Is there any difference between this and the other brand that you suggested previously. I tried to compare the spec and it all looks the same the only difference is the more expensive one is "touchscreen". Is having touchscreen quite significant difference for working monitor?

    • +1

Touchscreen might be useful if you're trying to use it like a (big) tablet.

It really depends on your use case.

  • Good deal. I think the total is a little extra as 10% tax is added when you checkout.

    Anything smaller coming up soon?

    • Smaller in this price range is tough to find. Certainly possible to find some I'm sure.

      • I guess 15.6" it is, thanks.

  • Has anyone tried if this works with a Mac Mini 2012 by any chance? :)

    • +1

It would work fine using the Mini HDMI connector

  • Are there any with keyboard and trackpad included and fold like a laptop?

The perfect portable display for me would have mounting of a phone where the trackpad would usually be,be thin, battery to self power and charge the phone and keyboard. Do you know if any of these exist on AliExpress?

  • Arghh hoping for a 13-14 inch version soon

  • Thanks OP. Bought one.

  • Great deal, 15.6" is a decent size as well.

  • Would you suggest getting the case for this if one plans to use it as a (portable) laptop monitor?

    • It would be a good idea.

  • Can you wirelessly screen cast from the phone to this?

    • You'd need to have something like a Chromecast plugged in to stream.

  • Hi OP, I'm ready to pull the trigger on a portable monitor. If you had to choose between this and the more premium 2k touch monitor you posted recently what would you go for?

Understand that's subjective but I'm not sure how to value the additional features of the more expensive unit over this. Is it worth the extra ~$150 in your opinion?

Thanks for all your help with these items!

    • +1

There's a couple more up my sleeve. The 2K touch is good if you're after a touchscreen and if you want to play games due to the higher refresh rate. Cut out the touchscreen and it's even cheaper.

      • Maybe interested in any of these more premium offerings if you find any: 2k, touchscreen, high refresh, etc

          • @Clear: I noted this one you posted doesn't have the AU plug anymore (with protective case option).

Is that something easy to replace (eg usb adaptor)?

            • +1

@rysith: Any old USB phone charger would be fine if you have one. Often the USB port on your computer will suffice.

      • Thank you. Is it worth holding off for the ones up your sleeve?

        • This one was up my sleeve.

The only others would be something at 4K instead and potentially something at 17" or 18". I don't think I'm going to find anything smaller than this cheaper.

          • @Clear: Is 4K worth it for something 15.6/16" in size - wondering how readable text etc would be vs say 2K?

  • looks good for a home NVR. Not sure if there are wireless/headless HDMI display options which may be a better use case.

(explanation: NVR works fine without monitor but wanted the ability to wirelessly connect and view the monitor if needed without having to physically connect a monitor. I can remotely connect over LAN but the experience is much better / more efficient if directly accessing the NVR through its native interface vs. the web interface)

  • Can you connect an iPhone to it?

  • Quick question what has been everyone's use of a portable monitor. Considering its a wired connection, my only case use would be for work while on the road and need a second monitor. Otherwise the LCD monitor on my laptop would be fine.

    • I travel almost every week so this is very practical for me working at desks without monitors and in hotel rooms. Even in my proper office setup having a small portable monitor along side the others is useful as it takes up less space.

  • Do i need to connect to the power separately if i plug this into my laptop via HDMI/USB C?

    • +1

If you're connecting via HDMI then you will need a USB-A to C or C to C connection to the computer or a power adapter.

      • What if it's USB C to C from the laptop to the monitor?

        • I'm fairly certain that will be fine but I don't know for certain. If you were charging your laptop via USB-C you can plug that into the PD port on the monitor to do passthrough.

  • Adding on taxes, I got $119.85. Is this right? I selected case and stand

  • Interested in a monitor like this to use a SteamDeck for playing Minecraft for my son. The USBC PD pass through looks good. Are there others a similar price that have USBA ports? Price seems to really step up?

    Just tried to buy one
    "This item is unavailable"

  • Damn, @clear alternatives to this please as oos? Thanks

  • Store now asking for an additional US$8.50 for shipping…

    • Same. Dodgy. Asking for additional shipping now that they've sold out.

    • Damn that sucks. I get the feeling they weren't expecting such a hit.

I'll have to find a more reasonable alternative.

      • Replied that I'm not paying. They double-down:

Dear, if you don't pay $8.5, your order will not be shipped. You need to cancel the order, right?

Will let them cancel the order and reporting the store to AliExpress.

        • There's the possibility they may mark it as shipped and it won't get picked up or someone elses tracking number. Hopefully not. They do it as AliExpress will give them a penalty for cancelling.

          • @Clear: So they just marked my item as being shipped. Let's see if it actually arrives…

            • @RichardL: If they haven't shipped it and just generated a label hopefully it's someone else's. Makes disputes easier.

            • @RichardL: This one should be on sale from tomorrow evening. We're getting either a US$4 off US$20 or US$3 off US$15 spend for Choice Day. Makes me kinda wished to have waited for more brightness.

  • +1

How many of you have been asked to pay the extra US$8.50 as well? Interested to know how many got their products shipped without being asked to pay more.

    • Same. Just replied I don't agree with it and ask them to cancel

      • +1

Make sure to get them to cancel, so it affects their Seller Rating (or wait until AliExpress automatically cancels for not being shipped out).

        • Mine just got shipped. I have persistently say no to cancellation and they have finally shipped out. I hope they shipped out the real thing :D

          • @spiinl: Same here, let's see if it arrives.

            • @RichardL: I was adamant in not paying as well and a few minutes ago they told me they have shipped, and I don't have to pay any extra payment. But the status of my order is still "To be shipped."

Not enough fingers on my hands to cross this across the line! I'm just accepting the fact that I'll be refunded without the actual item being shipped. If it arrives, it's a bonus.

    • +1

After refusing to pay any additional amount and telling them to cancel if they can't/don't fulfill the order, they responded with:

Dear friend, I apply for a reduction of $3 for you, you only need to pay $5.5, OK?

Needless to say, they won't be getting anymore money out of me, based on their dodgy tactics.

Note: They have 4 days left before AliExpress automatically refunds my payment for order not being shipped.

      • Will you get the 14" alternative? Have to create another account in order to use the AN5 code.

        • Potentially. Just waiting on this store to either fulfill or cancel my order.

  • Mine says 'This order will ship in 4 days. If not, your refund will be issued automatically'

    • Mine has just shipped.

  • asking for extra AUD $12 as well.

    • +1

Seller now has shipped the product after threatening to report to Aliexpress:

Dear friend, I have shipped your order, you do not need to pay any extra fees, thank you for your support and understanding. Best regards!

  • Still waiting for monitor to arrive. Tracking said it arrived in Australia, so shouldn't too much longer.

Interestingly, their Aliexpress Store is now renamed 'ZPIRCD Official Store' (Previously HDHIFI).

    • They were originally using the name for their monitors as seen here

A lot of the cheaper ones from stores like Factory Direct have jumped in price now.

  • Mine has arrived. Still need to test it out. Got the one with case and stand, which it arrived with.

I had the stuff around where they asked for more money. I told them it was up to them to keep their prices up to date and I wasn't willing to pay anything more. If they didn't want to honour their pricing they could cancel it on their end.

    • Tried with work laptop and switch, both type c -> type c and it worked great.

    • regretting now. Should have bought with the case. Was trying to save some coins but given how plasticky it is, should have bought the case.

  • Mine also arrived today. Just tested with Server PC and Samsung Dex and it works perfectly. In hindsight probably should have gone with a smaller & touchscreen portable monitor.
