For those in the market for a portable monitor this one is on sale again and a little bit cheaper. It's particularly good value compared to this 14" monitor previously posted.

A HDMI to Mini HDMI cable, USB-C to USB-C cable, USB-A to USB-C cable and AU plug wall charger come included.

The cheapest option is "Color: No case stand". With a stand it's US$90.81 (~A$135.18) and with a foldup case it's US$95.04 (~A$141.48).

  • Very tempted to buy one for when I bring the laptop home to work on the weekend or at night. I wish these came with full size HDMI so you didn't need to always keep a specific cable around but great value none the less.

    • +1

Some come with full sized HDMI like this but that's far less portable. I find my other portable monitor to be extremely useful when I'm travelling.

      • That looks like a great bit of kit there. What makes it less portable? Is it the added thickness of the built in kickstand? I assume it would also use a bit more power due to touchscreen if powering off a laptop

        • +1

Extra thickness of the monitor itself and the kickstand at the back. Versus my other one similar to this that's thinner and folds up in a case.

Very little power consumed with the touchscreen running off the laptop USB port.

          • @Clear: Thanks for that, I appreciate it :)

          • @Clear: Hi @Clear, what model is your monitor with touchscreen? Looking to get a portable monitor as well for work while travelling

            • +1

@porkflossbun: It was this one My other non-touch is a Zeuslap which is pretty similar to these.

              What size are you after?

              • @Clear: I reckon 15 inches are good. If it is a touchscreen then outside of travel, the functionality of monitor might be better.

Tempting but just not sure worth the risk ordering from Aliexpress when Officeworks have the Blaupunkt for $197. Had bad luck with screens in the past arriving with dead pixels.

Come on, don't you trust ZPIRCD? I mean it's no MAJCF, or SHSTFD or even bYwxbYjb but its getting there

      • +2

I think that the way they randomly chose the letters to create the brand is important. Some say that the random the selection, the more good luck for the lucky buyer. So yeah, you can’t compare ZPIRCD with the luckier bYwxbYjb but it’s not half bad either!

    • +1

Seems to be unavailable on officeworks' website.

  • Has anyone got their monitor delivered from the previous deal (how long did shipping take) and would they care to post a review?

  • If you're planning on going portable, you want the fold up case. It protects it as well as keeps its thinness. The stands are awkward to put in a bag or backpack.

I prefer the dell or lenovo ones tbh, because they are just usb c so one cable for it all. Also 15.6inch is slightly less portable - ie a 14inch screen matching a 14inch macbook pro.

    Great price though here.

  • This is actually a really great idea! Anyone have experience or know for sure whether this could power up a 2TB portable hard drive connected through a USB C hub/passthrough?

    • Wouldn't you be plugging the portable hard drive to say a laptop that is connected to this portable monitor? Or the USB C hub that is powered via the laptop.

I mean these monitor dont run any operating system capable of playing media files like movies.

      • Ah right. Yeah that's what I wanted to know. Wanted this as a laptop substitute.
