How long did it take to arive? Yes, they stopped shipping yesterday - must have been a system glitch.

      • Hasn't arrived yet, I have an estimated date of 6th aug!

  • Thanks for posting this

  • Some of the things I wanted are shipped by amazon de cost 40 eur just for shipping.
    Am I doing something wrong?

  • Do they ship with DHL?

DHL used to charge everyone "quarantine clearance fees" few weeks after you receive the parcel.

  • No, just buy some more. The shipping won't increase. It is not per item. You can put in 10 things if not more than $1000 in total and the shipping will still be 40 Euro.

I have never been charged these fees by DHL.

    • You are lucky. :)
      That's what I am talking about - http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1361647

      • I would not worry about it too much - if it is electronics which does not have to be quarantined.

        • I've got my media player "inspected".
Spent about a month debating the fee with DHL.

        • Time to change your government then. Only in Australia! Time to get rid off that "greed attitude" prevalent within the companies in OZ cause that is what it is - just a money making scheme!

  • Hail Yeah~
    Thanks!

Good for you. I will post that one, too. Maybe other people like that, too.

  • Thanks so much for this Gallifrey.

  • This is probably a stupid question but why is amazon Germany so cheap all of a sudden?

    • +1

Amazon Germany has always been cheaper - now the crisis is there, the Aussie dollar stronger, companies need to make sales etc.
But in general, Germany is one of the most competitive markets in the world, if not the most competitive one. Two years ago you could buy a brand new Nissan Micra for $7000. Now it's a bit more expensive but on average you can negotiate a 25-35% discount on the price.
And then you have Australia where everything is a rip-off - compnaies here cry foul if they do not have 20% or more profit margin. I know as a fact for example that a lot of the German electronics market are grateful if they have an average of 7% profit margin, while here Gerry Harvey cries if he cannot get his 40% margin. There is a big part of the difference.

      • Thanks for the explanation. It seems Germans in general just work hard and be competitive, whereas here you ain't an Aussie if you don't whinge…

      • Thanks for explanation

How to buy from Amazon when they won't ship to Australia?
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/76395

    • +1

Many items on Amazon US / De / Fr simply won't ship to Aus for a number of reasons. You can use a shipping forwarder service, but unless you're item is really unique or overpriced in Australia it often isn't worth the wait and expense

  • Are there any search engines that compare pricing between the various Amazon websites?

  • Any dyson vacs?

  • Is there any way to find out on amazon.de about what can be shipped to Australia or not, other than adding to cart and then checking.

Amazon.com is easy, as you can select Amazon Global eligible.

all those language lessons are starting to become more useful

  • no more 40 euro fixed shipping
They are charging by the kg now
    For a 20kg item , shipping was $200 euro's =(

    • Yeah, this has really killed it for me :(
I can see why they do it of course, still sucks

Some resellers still have shipping caps, looking at buying a few giant ass boxes of Lego and they top out at 50 Euro
