I tried to sign up to Exetel via shopback which brings me to Econnex. On the billing section, I need to give my credit card info (CC num, expiry date, CCV), there is no option for direct debit. If i signup directly via Exetel, I was given the option of using debit card or credit card. Is there a way to signup via Econnex without giving out my credit card details?

    • during process, it shows new development fee apply

I'm still on the NBN50 for $60 with Exetel.

So good, still can't find something better.

    • There isn’t unless you move out and back in

Received my first bill from Exetel and have been charged $68.95 due to the code automatically entered in the Exetel checkout being WOEX2223, not WOEX2023!!! (yes, should have double checked). Now have billing/sales trying to follow it up further after initially saying they can't change it.

  • Are the prices listed here ex GST ?

    • GST included

      • Thanks mate

Switched to Exetel, but realised they require modem config change to PPPoE, instead of just a simple reboot or auto reconnect.

Kinda annoying when managing remote NBN connections, having to physically go to the place to update it.

  • How is this different to going directly through exetel's site? 50/20 is listed there at $53.95 for first 6 months, nothing about a discount code.

I'm a few months into their 6 months reduced offer. I won't be continuing. Frequent momentary dropouts. "Service guy said to watch it for 24hrs and tell them how many and when. I kid you not.

  • I have just tried to connect to Exetel and a couple of things to consider.

If you have an existing VoIP telephone connected ATM and want the same number transfered, it will take a time specified by your existing ISP to connect. In my case two weeks from Spintel.

If you can handle a new number then can be done within 48hrs. So give yourself time to transfer before your old ISP account rolls over to new month.

No landline telephone required then within 4 to 6 hrs apparently.

I, now have to wait for last week of next month to exclude potential pro rata ISP charges.

    Just FYI

  • Pretty amazing signed up at 5pm and called them after 20 minutes. The guy wanted my MAC address he then said to call around 7pm, since they’d be able to activate me today. No need as it was activated after another 10-15 minutes.

I have escaped Optus who were an absolute nightmare (slow apps, dropouts etc). I’m hoping to be able to stick to Exetel, hopefully in 6 months downgrading to 50gb and seeing if they give me an offer.

Or SL, Australia Post nbn for 6 months and then switch back to Exetel.

So far best providers for me have been Australia Post broadband and Exetel.

Guys who signed up to Exetel does your account show the discounted rate? Mine it’s showing full cost. Worried now that consider me an existing customer as I left them in December…. When I signed up online it showed the discounted $68.95 price and I added code.

I’ll call them on Monday to double check. Fingers crossed otherwise I will need to move again (possibly Superloop). Grrr I’ll have to wait 30 days too.

    The email says
    $68.95/mth first 6 months. $84.95/mth ongoing

Discounts shows up on the bill, not on email/website sadly which is poor form of exetel’s side but you definitely will see it on your invoice
