Ozito 2x 1.5v 20 Piece Precision Screwdriver Kit (OPSDK-30) $10 @ Bunnings (Limited Locations)

971

Good deal for an electric screwdriver kit, i have the Xiaomi Wowstick that runs on 2 AA cells and its okay for small jobs not a lot of torque but you can use it to hand tighten screws to finish. This Ozito looks similar to the Wowstick, maybe some one can confirm?.

Looks to be limited stock in NSW but you can get it online still.

        Perfect for screws into plastic.

          inflated or deflated?

      • +5

Have you ever been slapped by 1 year old. You have under estimated their "torques" :)

      • +19

1 year olds can't torque. They can barely worque.

    • +2

it's to work on light stuff, and not to take off your bolts off your car rims. ymmv

  • Im also interested in this, torque, speed and general quality. For dekstop pc's nktebooks and phones whats the exerence like. (If someone buys one this would be glod knowledge to share) thank you

Or is it just plain e waste 😂

    • +2

      Good for phones and notebooks.

Nowhere near enough torque for desktop pc's.

      • Thanks!! Yeah i was doutbing it

      • Thanks!

        How far does it get

Would it handle the majority of fitting into tight spots right up until the final hand-tighten

        Or halfway

        • +1

I gave it a quick test and it will do most desktop PC screws until the final tighten. Same for many of the small (but not precision sized) screws I tested it on in various electronic items.

0.15NM torque is more than you'd think, but certainly I easily found a few PC screws it could not do at all. Anything much larger than a case screw tends to be too much for it, which is expected.

    Precision Screwdriver

When working with low torque precision screws nothing beats the fine adjustability of the human hand and normal precision screwdriver set.

TLDR: just use your hands. Don't be a baby.

    • Or press the button until you feel resistance then hand tighten. Perfect for phones where there are dozens of screws.

    • +1

Bring on the WALL-E future of zero human exertion.. BTW if these are mostly useful for driving tiny screws, I would worry about stripping threads without the feedback of doing it manually

      • Yeah if we could only outlaw cars, powertools, home appliances etc

    • +2

This is true, but when you are taking apart 29 screws in a laptop, it's hand

    • Yeah mostly only worth it if you are doing a lot of them. Then it's a gamechanger.

  • Which one had more torque, oIto or wowstick?

    • Don't worry your hand provides the torque, the power assist is mainly just to speed up the tightening which is handy if you have ever repaired a phone.

      • Ah right, so does it let you hand tight once the torque is maxed out or would I have to swap to a normal screwdriver?

        • +1

They generally lock when not powered on but i cant say for sure with this one.
So you stop pressing the button and use as an ordinary screwdriver when needing the extra torque.

          • +1

@Spendmore: Yeah it happily cranks quite tight by hand. Not sure if it locks the gearbox, or if it's just friction. Either way, it's effectively locked.

        • Yeah you can hand tighten much tighter than it can do it with the motor. No issues using it like a normal screwdriver.

    Just got refunded mo stock

    • Seems silly that a specific store calls up to refund an early order ("no stock") right before a slew of OzBargainers physically pick it up

Why bother differentiating online orders to the store selections if dispatch is based on local inventories.

  • OP thanks for sharing, the big win for me was discovering https://nrby.in/ ; How did I not know about this already? It's awesome, thank you!

wowstick was good to look at, nice to touch - functionally? Pathetic really, i had to use it like a regular screwdriver but i can't because it's shaped like a pen with no real grip.

if this is anything like it, i highly recommend against it, and for $10 I expect it to be worse than the wowstick. Don't encourage these companies to make more straight to the landfill products like this!

If you want a real toolkit for small jobs like these, i highly recommend any of the wera stuff - usually on sale on Amazon.

    • +2

Dependent on what you use it for i suppose.
I work on delicate electronics so lots of little screws not needing much torque to remove, i always hand tighten also.

      • hit and miss even with delicate things like PC building, barely enough torque for most jobs i feel.

        • +1

My pc building certainly isnt delicate and this is too small for that. I mean mobile phones or RC cars, helicopters etc.

    • is lack of grip a "feature" to deter overtightening

  • Meh I'd rather get a ratcheting screwdriver. Which I want now that I mention it. Time to research.

    • WERA ftw.
The toolcheck kit on sale is the best thing i've bought toolwise in the last 3 years.

      • That's a different tool for a different job. The Ozito unit is a precision driver, so 4mm bits not 6.35mm.

Precision drivers (electric or not) are meant for the very tiny screws in electronics such as phones, laptops etc, or other items like glasses.

You'll notice the Ozito precision driver in question is sized much smaller - it's largest bits are mostly a size smaller than the smallest bits in the WERA Toolcheck set.

The WERA gear is great, but isn't useful for working on a laptop. It's fine for most desktop PC screws, or larger. Conversely, the Ozito precision driver is the wrong tool for the job if you don't need precision bits.

Bought it few weeks back for $10..useless tool.very less power and button are also not very user friendly and you have to hold them while operating..hard to properly grip it..only satisfaction that i bought $20 product at half price :-)

  • -1

I bought it. Returned it the next day.
It is garbage. It couldn't screw m2 screws into pre drilled holes… Screws don't get much smaller than that and plastic isn't that hard to screw into.

  • +6

I picked one up today. Just to rub it in for those who can't find it in stock, it's pretty good for $10.

I have a Xiaomi Mijjia (which is fantastic) and wanted a cheap second driver to avoid switching bits on certain electronics.

The Ozito driver is nothing fancy, but compared side by side with the Mijia, the Ozito appears to happily deliver the rated torque.

Lot's of negative comments here re: the power - it's a 0.15nm precision screwdriver, so isn't designed for use on most typical sized screws. That said, it has a PH 2 bit which works well on 'normal' sized screws, such as computer case screws. You will need to start / finish tight ones manually though. No issues applying quite a bit of force by hand.

The LEDs are good, and the Ozito sticker on the body of the screwdriver peels off cleanly. Compared to the online pics, the screwdriver is light grey with black buttons, not darker grey and red buttons. It feels pretty plasticy, but quite solid overall.

There's a bit of slop in the gearbox, so you get about an 1/8th of a turn back and forward before it tightens up. Not really an issue in normal use, but not as good as the much more expensive options. The actual bits are held in firmly by a magnet, but don't slip in and out perfectly smoothly, and have a tiny bit of wiggle. Again, perfectly fine for normal use considering the price.

The case is cheap feeling plastic but does the job. The lid stays on well, but is easy enough to remove when needed. The bits clip in, rather than use magnets, but they hold securely, and are still easy enough to pop in and out. There's room at the bottom of the case for spare batteries, or extra bits. Overall the case is better than expected really.

All in all it's a pretty good little driver for the price. Better than say the Craftright precision screwdriver set but slightly cheaper. A solid option as a second electric driver, or for those who want to try out a basic but useful electric precision driver set.

    • I completely agree, good review and great deal for $10.

    • I have the AAA battery operated wowstick, is the Mijia you refer to the same one I have or the rechargeable model? I think I only paid 15 bucks for mine, so I am wondering what you think being only 5 bucks more, is it a better unit or is this one good enough where it counts that you wouldn't buy the Mijia?

This is the one I got BTW, actually very happy with it, and probably my preferred setup as very compact kit with a cloth case and if it runs out batteries can be easily swapped https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/657375

      • The Mijia was from this deal. $34. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/695834

So similar to the rechargable Wowstick.

$15 for the Wowstick 1P you bought is a great deal. And well worth the $5 more than the Ozito.

    • I picked mine up yesterday and came here to write a similar review. I'd agree with everything said here except that I really don't like the case. I'll likely be leaving the bits behind and carrying this with one of my Xiaomi manual precision sets. Otherwise well worth the $10.
