[NRMA] 10% off Total Electricity Bill, 18% off Total Gas Bill, $100 Ampol Gift Card Per Energy Source @ Simply Energy

180

Works with NRMA Blue for whoever got the FREE yearly membersip and FREE renewal. Im on my second free renewal.

For energy churners, this is a decent deal.
Compared it to my previous bills and still ends up being cheaper after factoring in guaranteed bill discount.

Enjoy

  • Look at the Google reviews lol

    • +1

Its for churning so dont really pay attention to the reviews

Get my vouchers, move along to new provider after 3 months, sometimes less

Already got close to $1000 various vouchers/bill signup credits this financial year from energy and dont get me started at how much vouchers/saving/free months i got from private health insurance lol

      • Any disconnection fees?

        • +1

You are just moving account to new retailer, not disconnecting electricity service. So no fee.

I switch retailer every 2-3 months with no fees, just a lot of benefits (gift cards, etc). Effectively pay nothing for electricity (all electric house, no solar).

          • @INFIDEL: Ok great. I thought you get charged for even moving retailers

            • @stockastics: Disconnection only happens when electricity is terminated to premises. Like when moving.

Changing retailers, supply continues. Only a meter read is necessary. As have a smart meter - done remotely at no cost.

If you have a long term contact with a retailer (that's different to disconnection) - check for early termination fees.

A credit hit every time though

        • They did not take enough info for a credit check

Verifying identity was optional so i skipt that

        • +2

Been switching electricity retailers every few months for years - to take up offers. Same as I do with SIMs.
Hasn't affected my very good credit rating.

        • +1

Yea, I have been hit with credit check 4 out of the 5 switches in the last 2 years. It does effect my score but it's "EXCELLENT" according to Equifax so I'm not really concerned. I'm not planning on buying a house anytime soon which would be the only time I would care.

      • How do you keep track of the bonus from different companies? Keen to do this too

  • I was on a 40pct off elec and 25% (I think) usage deal with Simply/RACV. Moved house and Simply wouldn't move the plan to the new address. They offered a 10pct usage deal but I changed to Red because it was still cheaper. It's not too hard to shop around these days

Did you complain to energy ombudsman. If not, i strongly encourage you do. You will get the discount

  • Is this discount for supply and usage or usage only ?. And might want to add some region limitations. I got the following "Sorry, this offer is not available in this area yet. If you think there has been an error, please get in touch."

    • Got same msg. Vic here.

    • The discount is on total bill

      • It's not eligible for Victorians. I also checked my postcode.

  • Ive been looking at energy prices recently.

So far, so long as you use less than 30Kwh a day, nothing comes close to globird.

Im looking for a change away from origin who costs a fortune.

    • Ditto, been with Origin for years - every time I do the calculator at https://www.energymadeeasy.gov.au/ all the providers are too close in cost to bother with the effort

      • +2

How about $800 Gift cards, and $300 in energy credits since August 2022 for energy connections.

        Is it worth the effort?

        • Any chance of getting that spreadsheet PM'd. Im about to move power, health insurance, mortgage.

        • I would also love a PM on how you managed this please!

          • +1

@sillygoat: I just follow the offers . Google search every month. Set reminders. And as soon as i get my incentive paid, i jump to next best offer

      • If you fall in the low-use tier, GloBird seems to be amazing.

Their rates arent as great if you go over your 30KwH a day they estimate; but if you're a low user, Im seeing roughly 20c a day less, and 5c per Kwh.

        • Thanks. globird was a great tip.

  • Rates are not very good for SEQ

  • Need to have solar to get the deal in NSW I think?

    • No. Swipe right for the non-solar plan

      • Ugh, I'm so dumb! Thanks mate 😄🙏

  • Just actually signed up to Globird tonight. Only a $50 credit on your bill, (in the second month) but the rates, both daily supply and the usage seem to be better than this deal, in NSW anyway. In our area. But if this deal keeps going, in two months I'll be switching to this one. Thanks OP 🙏

    • I was also going to go with Globird because their rates are the best in our area. But Energy Australia has cashback on Cashrewards (currently $150 on elec and $100 on gas which ends tonight, normally it's $112 for both) and Energy Australia will also credit $50 for each energy account. Confirmed it stacks with TA when I signed up for $112 cashback. But with $350 in total of cash and credit, you would be better off with Energy Australia unless you are using a crazy amount of energy. Waiting for my cashback to confirm before churning to the next.

  • @easternculture I am about to sign up to the VIC - Simply Energy Saver 20% Electricity plan.
Is there way to stack the NRMA discount? It looks like it won't stack. Bah!

    • Need to sign up to the specific nrma plan

  • AGL retention team called me, offered 15% off reference rate plus $200 credit. So i accepted that.

Will churn again after $200 bill credit is used lol

Hopefully $200 credit every churn attempt = close to $1000 per year in credits

  • @easternculure……do you reckon this plan is good for people with solar as it says "To be eligible for the Simply Solar for NRMA Members energy plan, you must have, or be installing a solar system that generates less than 10kW output"…..do you keep on changing companies after a while even you have solar credits getting generated…..

    • Swipe left and you will see non solar plan

  • Sorry, this offer is not available in this area yet. If you think there has been an error, please get in touch.
    Checking in Vic.
