Another option I was looking at was the Dell S3423DWC, a popular model on OzB, but hasn't been sub-$600 since January. Would've been a difficult choice if the Dell was also on sale but I've been looking for a 34-inch USB-C monitor for a while now so decided to pull the trigger.

Looks like a good one. Except for the refresh rate

      Seriously? What would you expect?

      • +28

        1441

  • Waiting for 4K at 120hz at this price soon!

    • In 48 inch

      • +26

        PM sent

    • 4k is so 2023.

I'll not settle for anything less than 8k

      • +1

Just pay in Turkish lira or Argentine pesos… they have had 100K monitors for a while now

      • I'm playing 4K in 60hz already, my PC can support about 120hz with most games, but nothing supports 8K, good luck lol

  • +14

    LG support is horrendours

It’s a French word meaning a heck of a lot better than Samsung

    • +2

      Haha whoops

      • +1

I wish I had your vocabulary… I’m ashamed to admit that I had to look it up

  • +3

I daily drives a lg 35wn75c, it’s pretty much the same as the one on the post except for the panel, with 100hz va. The 90w usb is quite nice, it would be perfect if you have a thin and light laptop, but my ipad pro sits pretty good leaning on the lg logo.

    • +1

The integrated steering wheel is genius

    • @Clipzero that is the model I really wanted to get, but not on sale right now. Do you use LG Onscreen Control feature? Wondering if that's handy when it comes to share screen, multitasking etc.

  • Wow this really isnt a great gaming monitor…. oh well its still better than My old Dell U2711 I guess :D

  • +1

really really wanna try an ultrawide monitor, but 1440p hurts my eyes :( 5k2k ultrawide is still too expensive atm :(

after a 23-27inch FHD monitor with built in speakers around $200 mark, any suggestions?

  • How does this compare with the Ultrafine posted recently?

    • I assume you're referring to the LG 32UN88A for $697? The main difference is that the 32UN88A has 2160p (4K) and comes with an ergonomic monitor arm that allows 360° rotation. Where as the 34WQ75C has 1440p (2K) with additional USB ports and Ethernet and comes with a standard monitor stand.

  • This is not wide enough

    • Buy two and put them side by side.

  • -1

60 Hz that's awful. You shouldn't get less than 100 Hz.

Samsung CH892-34" Ultra-Wide Curved WQHD Monitor (USB C, 100hz) on sale too.
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Samsung-CH892-34-Ultra-Wide-Monito…

  • I'm choosing between LG 34WQ75C, Samsung CH892 and Dell S3423DWC. I want 10bit and 100Hz refresh rate, why can't I have both at this price range? :(

    • Exactly my dilemma in the past few months but can't be bothered to wait anymore haha

      • Which one did you buy if you did already?

        • +2

The LG one. I'd rather take the 90W PD and IPS panel - only productivity and no gaming for me.

          • @tripdubz: Do you know if the USB-C passes through the downstream USB connections as well as network? At first I assumed it would pass the downstream USB connections but I see there’s an upstream USB connection too so I’m a bit confused.

One big feature not listed by OP that should, is this has KVM built in, a huge bonus for those wanting more than one device connected.

    • Good point. Looks like both the LG and Dell have it but the similarly-priced Samsung model doesn't.

    • I use the Dell mentioned above at work and it has KVM also .. good to know this has it too - I would not buy one without it now its such a good feature.

    • What do you mean by KVM build-in and how would it work?
I did a look and KVM seems to be having 1 set of inputs and can toggle between different connected devices. I can’t seem to understand how this would work on a monitor.

      • +1

Just like a dedicated KVM, in the settings, KVM is an option along with the input, you can assign a custom key to initiate apparently.

        • Ahh I see… I did find this old (8 years old) YouTube clip of an old LG monitor with KVM built-in too but in this instance it was with Thunderbolt 1/2. https://youtu.be/BFkY3V6Te2A

So it seems like for this monitor the KVM will be between the [USB-C] and the [USB-B + DisplayPort/HDMI]

Thanks for pointing the KVM out for this monitor. I had no idea some monitors have these built-in! This solves a problem for me as I’ve been looking around for a decent KVM switch whether that is just for display or for USB. Can never find a good solution (whether it is, it works well but messy with cables or it’s clean but doesn’t work well with my use case).

  • I have never used a wide monitor like this, can you divide screen into to two, to mimic two monitors. specially when you require to share one screen on Zoom or Teams !

  • anyone can advise which is best for wfh? 2 x 27 inch monitor or 1 x 34 inch monitor?

no coding, just teams, meeting, share screen, multitask at once

    • +3

34" can be a nightmare for screenshare but other than that, I've found a single panel to be the better solution.

That said I have both a 34" and a 14" laptop screen, I have the webcam setup above the laptop screen which makes the positioning much better (at eye level) and looks much more professional. Means I'm basically looking into the camera, whereas if it was above the 34" I'd have to look up into it.

The other consideration is if you do a lot of work on documents it can be incredibly useful to have one monitor in portrait mode, means a lot less scrolling

  • Thanks OP .. ordered one .. I have been looking for a monitor for quite sometime .. could find anything at this price for 34 inch IPS and USB C with power delivery.

  • How does this compare with this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/768005 ?

I just ordered 2x of the LG 32UN88A but considering now the Samsung 34" and 1 LG 32" predominately used for productivity/ documentation etc. I'm really loving the mount on the LG 32UN88A though. 360'

    • Comment above is probably helpful. I've got a preference for single panel as I find dragging stuff across screens a bit annoying. Price-wise I wouldn't pay double the price for the improved resolution, but that stand sure does look good and it is probably easier to share screen, multitask etc. with two screens. I'm keen to test the LG onscreen control feature; hopefully would make working in one screen quite seamless.

    • +1

It depends on your personal preference and your budget. The Samsung and LG 34" are both 2K resolution (1440p) where as the LG 32UN88A is 4K.

My personal preference would be to get two LG 32UN88A rather than mixing a 34" at 1440p (2K) and a 32" at 2160p (4K). Besides having better resolution, you have the benefit of more flexibility in terms of how you layout your screens (you could have one in portrait and the other in landscape or both in landscape/portrait etc).

A lot of good points I've over looked. I've not had a "desktop" for about 10 years now and just dived into a Mac Mini pro2. Working on a 15" MBP was starting to annoy me in terms of spacing, documentation, productivity etc etc

Appreciate your feedback and thoughts, thank you kindly!

        • +1

My pleasure. I'm glad I could help you.

Edit: Just realised I've replied to three different comments of yours about monitors. Lol

          • @thisusernameistaken: Sorry haha! I was hoping for a quicker response, so I could make my decision before it was too late with Amazons dynamic pricing. Its been a few days now with two monitors and I am very happy with them!

  • +1

I have this unit and it is good for a mix of office/photo editing/video editing, and it doesn't break the bank. Anything over than 34 I would say that becomes a bit expensive.

    I think I paid $599 about 2 months ago.

I like the fact it's USBC and can charge my MBP while I have it connected, and also I can split screen with my work/personal laptop. I believe a lot of displays nowadays do that, but, just want to share my experience for someone thinking about getting this unit.

  • Help me decide at this price point, should i go with this one IPS panel but 60Hz, or VA panel (QLED) but 144hz? (Prism+ P340Pro) ?

I'n not a big gamer (although I wished I had more time to play again), mainly coding and YouTube.

  • Why pay $180 extra for usb-c? Does it add any additional feature to the monitor? HDMI / DP does the same job right?

      • Right!! Totally under stood that.

        • I should have been clear which question I was answering.

HDMI / DP does the same job right?

          No

  • Does light bar work well with curved screens?

  • Any suggestions for a good monitor arm for this ?
