The other card was better as was not reference card. But not bad

  • +1

Good price, but NSW will require + delivery

    • +1

Yeah, ~$28 to NSW when I checked.

    HODL?

    • -8

HODL, if you need to pay postage. Otherwise I’d jump on it as I’m on the look out

      • +21

An, extra $20 on postage puts a $1200 card from "buy" to "don't buy"?

        • I don’t need to ASAP, as I have a 3070 8gb.
By the same token, $1200 is the threshold at which I’ll buy…it’ll almost certainly go down to that at JW or UMART within the next month

Not to mention the inconvenient of waiting in the post and the fact it might get lost.
Yes it’s only $20, but I’d rather just pick it up from a store..

@Commodore64: After years and years of lurking on OZ Bargain, I was compelled to create an account just to ask, what the actual fudge?

          • @Commodore64: I got a lightly used 7900 xtx for 1200. Couldn't be anymore happier

    • Story seems to be that NVIDIA cards are growing in demand due to AI stuff and Chia mining. So maybe another round of GPU craziness on the horizon. Who knows what AMD is doing with the 7800.

      • what do GPUs have to do with Chia mining??

      • -1

Prices increased when the crypto baloon popped. They'll continue to increase.

      • Exact reason why I pulled the trigger on all my parts recently - Not sure what the price impact will be on AMD cards, though

    • HODL.

If you are in TAS, there is still 1x ASUS TUF Gaming OC remaining at MSY Glenorchy for $1190

  • +1

If non reference pulse version then would be a sale from me.

Good price but HODL though, still waiting for xtx

  • +7

    BIT MORE HODL XTX

  • +3

Reference no thx. Hold the line boys

  • +5

Glad I bought a second hand 7900 xtx for $1220

  • 7900 or 4070? which is better

    • 7900 for longer term. 4070 doesn’t have enough VRAM

  • +2

I'm getting tempted, but I still can't justify spending more than I did on my first car on a single PC component.

Gonna hodl till my 1080 dies at this rate.

  • need good deals on an am5 board and chip

  • +2

I'll be tempted if it's more like $1000. Retailers would be more worried having these GPUs in stock if AMD/Nvidia are not being realistic with the pricing of the GPUs. PC shops will be closing soon with global economic downturn with PC components ridiculously expensive.

AMD in particular should really be more aggressive to go for volumes than outright for profit margins.

  • I'm running the reference 7900 XT - not sure why people have a problem with the reference model, its perfect

  • there were limmited number of cards with issues with vapour chamber not having enough water, and getting vapour lock and over heating causing card to throttle limit.

covered under warranty and should be fixed now with improved manufacture and QC.

    • Don't quote me on this but I think that was the XTX only

      • You are correct only the xtx has the vapour chamber

  • I have a G-sync screen being a Acer Predator xb1271hu, how would this screen go running a 7900XT? I am using a 3070 with G-sync enabled and get an eye twitch if it is out of sync. Can't justify a new monitor atm.

    • +3

Do you really need a new gpu? I know your stuck with 8gb vram but if your not unhappy with your current setup, then wait till next gen and skip this one.. That way you may be able to justify both monitor and gpu upgrade…

Can't answer the gsync question unfortunately…. Sorry

    • +1

bruh, you complain about the monitor but want to shell out $1200 on a GPU?
just spend that $$ on a decent monitor , its more important then a card, get an OLED screen - its the best upgrade you can make
your GPU is still good for 100 FPS

    • +1

I'm like 80% sure the XB271HU uses and older G-SYNC module which won't work with AMD cards (the newer module does).

  • +1

Reference would have to be $999 or $1100 with a good game/product (nobody wanted The Last of Us lmaooo) and some non-reference would have to be around this price for me to pull the trigger…and I want to pull the trigger, Aunty Lisa. Uncle Jensen very naughty, we must show disciprine.

  • Excellent for heating cold rooms

  • this price for XTXXXXX and Im in

  • $1000 XT $1400 XTX next goal for EOFY sales.
