    • $20 postage to WA.

Wonder how long before someone complains that a cheap 10 year old machine for $80 doesn't run Windows 11.

Shipping in the title would be good though (showing $15 for me to Melbourne).

I have just upgraded mine to Windows 11. With workarounds of course.

Excellent alternative to a Raspberry Pi or other SBC.

  • CPU mark of 4962. Thinking about getting this for Plex. Single stream @ 1080p max to a Fire Stick 4K. Would this be appropriate?

    • More than enough, mine stream 4k to Google Chromecast TV locally.

It has QuickSync, so should fine.

  • the ram is DDR3 or DDR4?

    • Is it desktop or laptop size ram?

    • +1

      Should be DDR3 for 4xxx

  • Wouldn't trust this eBay user.
They have LOADs of refurbs for over 10k on their website for old products like this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/234816978996
    Very sus.

    • What do you mean?

Looks like they are trying to inflate the average price. Just go onto their page and look at how many old laptops have hyper inflated prices, you can order by price High to Low.
This is an old macbook which is $16,000
Not sure why the downvotes, this is just facts.

        • They do that so they can keep the listing open without selling the product. So when inventory comes in they can just update the price.

          • +1

@plmko: That's not a correct listing practice under eBay T&C's, they should be marking it as out of stock. Why keep it as available to sell when it isn't?

Ebay looks at average sell price based on currently listed items, so they are inflating the sell price and product availability in the system.

            • @thedean: You keep the listing running so that your listing continues to have good ranking and it also keeps all the watchers subscribed. Also saves huge amounts of time listing things like laptops which have 1000's of permutations in descriptions.

If you are concerned about Ebay and their business practices you should go report all the listings so Ebay can clean out the listings.

              • +1

@plmko: I have reported them all.
it's a very consumer unfriendly policy, imagine if retail did this?
