220

Model: IKEA SITTBRUN

Speed: 480Mbps

I've been looking for cheap low power USB-PD chargers for some home automation projects and saw this on the Ikea website so I picked one up today. Is it the cheapest USB cable ever? No. Is it the highest wattage cable? No. But the build quality is quite good, and being able to pick up locally/easy warranty is quite appealing. I've bought loads of $1 Aliexpress cables and they're usually junk. I haven't tested this to its limits but I'm quite satisfied for the price and don't have any reason to believe it would fail. Always handy to have one or two cables stashed away. Note it's not a high speed cable so I'm only using these for charging

There's also a 1m USB C-C for $4.50 - https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/sittbrunn-usb-c-to-usb-c-blue-8…

Big Clive on YouTube has done some teardowns of the IKEA USB adapters and other electronics and they usually get a good review

For the people that means it caps at 60W, most of my stuff caps at 65w I guess. Will it still be able to pull the 65w?

      No

I have not tried the yellow one but the blue one - USB-C-to-USB-C - does deliver 65W to my dell xps (but slowly) with one of those blitzwolf chargers.

      • Sorry a little confused it can or can't deliver 65w or do you mean it takes a while to reach it?

        • it takes a while (2+ hours? have not measure, just slow) to reach 100% battery from 50% while working on the laptop.

  • Shit and Burn.

    Pretty good quality

    • yup, ~25000x higher quality than your typical aliexpress $1 cable, if the 25000 bends thing is true.

      This is darn cheap tbh.

What is the difference between USA and USB?
One connects to all of your devices and accesses the data, the other is a hardware standard.

Believe that's a micro USB (or the $4.50 USBC to USBC)

      • You are right, caught out by the same name!

Is this one hard to assemble

    • Yes we had to get the install company to do it for $189
