  • I just bought esim yesterday from this website… sigh…

    • +29

DM me your order number and we will sort it out! =)

      -Anton

      • +7

        what a legend..

      • do you have a coupon code for SIM cards?

  • Going round the world (north/South America, Greece and Italy and India) in a month for 30 days.

Is there a global roaming esim you offer that might suit me for the whole trip?

  • -4

Any deals on normal sims unfortunately I don't have a phone that can do esim? Going to the states and Canada in July.

    • +2

Not at the moment sorry, keep on the lookout!

      • Will there be one before July or should I start shopping around?

    • Try eSim.me

Its a physical sim card that acts as an eSim through an app

    • pretty pissweak to neg a deal just because you phone isn't e-sim enabled.

      • That wasn't the reason at all. It was more cause the customer service. I'm allowed an opinion

        • +7

the customer service? the rep replied to you in 3 minutes of your comment.

fret not, you're allowed your opinion.
and here's my opinion: you were being unreasonably harsh and the neg was unjustified.

  • My dyslexic brain read "NEW South Korea" as "North Korea."

  • +7

If you are going to multiple of these then these SIM cards are a good choice.

However, if you are only travelling to one country (eg. Bali) you can often find them locally at a far cheaper rate. (30GB 30 Day Sim Card is 200k-250k or $20-$25 AUD)

    • This.

Been to many countries and don't bother with getting Sim cards before I go, cos always dirt cheap when I get there.

      • In Thailand before esims, there would be sellers with stands at the airport that would swap the SIM on the spot for you. Back in 2013 I would only pay $10 for a week of unlimited data.

        • I was there in Feb and it's more like 25-40 now

    • +6

I would say Japan is maybe one of the only exceptions, I found their sims to be quite a lot more expensive to buy in the country, and with a much lower data limit than what can be purchased prior to travelling.

    • +2

Some countries also have complicated and time consuming Sim registration, which can make the travel Sim handy (e.g. South Korea)

    • It was cheaper to buy a SIM card to use in Canada from one of these websites than to buy it locally with the same amount of data.

The Hong Kong esim is even cheaper.

  • Hello,
Do i need to activate this esim card before i land japan?
    thanks

    • +1

      Upon landing in Japan.

      • +2

You can “scan” your eSIM in Australia, the eSIM will only “start” when it connects to the local network.

        -Anton

      • Thank you !

  • First time buying an eSIM, can I install it now or only when in destination country? The webpage and email seems to contradict

    • It actives from when you install, so destination.

  • +5

Just want to back this crew.
Purchased 2x esim before I left for Japan. Used the first one and currently on the second one in South Korea and will be in Malaysia next.
    About to purchase two more.

The only advice I have is to print off the QR code prior to leaving or have it on another device I.e laptop, phone.
My Google Pixel required internet access and to add it via camera.

    • Thanks for the support :)

      -Anton

    • If you print off the QR code you can install and activate without WiFi?

      • +3

No to install the eSIM you will need Wi-Fi connection.

As we mentioned earlier, you can scan the QR code in Australia without “starting” the plan. We recommend scanning and adding the eSIM a few days before your trip.

        -Anton

    • +1

You can open a QR code from your photos via Android. (probably can do it with iPhone too)
eg take a screenshot of QR code
go to the picture in your photo album
      click on 'search/lens' button
it then gives you the link to open the qr code.

    • Was it an issue not being able to make calls with this Sim or did you have another phone for voice call?

  • The Japan 14 days one says 14GB/day. Is that a typo?

    • Yes it is - sorry fixed!

      -Anton

  • Any chance of a 100GB euro sim?? I saw sim corner doing one

  • +1

Prices look expensive, isn't it cheaper just to add a roaming package on your current plan or am I missing something?

  • Does a S21 FE support esim?

    • It does not.

    • Not for Australian version. I already regret it and found it out after I bought it. :(

  • Thanks, I impulse-bought the hell out of one of these bad boys.

  • Question I want to get a Taiwan eSim for my trip in Dec.

Is it too early to buy one now?

    • +1

Yes it is too early as the eSIM need to connect to the local network within 6 months.

      -Anton

      • Thanks, glad i asked.

        I'll hold off for now.

  • Awesome thank you for the sale, bought 2 japan esims, great price for 1gb a day!

    • Thanks for the support :)

      -Anton

  • +1

i want to preface this with the fact that ive had really good experiences with their products previously but recently went to NZ recently and sort of lost reception when i left the major towns.

I was in the south and after leaving queenstown i lost reception or it was quite poor. Wanaka was especially bad.

    • +1

Reception in NZ out of town is like that especially South Island especially west coast. Not the eSIM to blame.

      • My wife was in telstra with roaming. We really relied on it for most of our trip.

  • @TravelKon - Hey Anton, have loved your service and products and used numerous times.

Will be travelling from mid-Oct to end-of-Oct this year in Japan. Is it too early to purchase the e-sims for that now?

    • +1

Hello! Thanks for the support :)

If you are travelling in October it’s fine to buy now as it is within 6 months.

      -Anton

  • I'm in Korea for a month. Are there plans with calls and lots of data available. I don't feel 30GB will be enough for what I require

    • Hello! Currently whatever we have in store is what we have.

      -Anton

  • Thank you. I was wondering if you guys would do another deal before I flew out. Made it with 12 hours to spare :)

    • Glad you found this deal helpful :)

      -Anton

  • +1

Is it possible to top these up or renew the sim after the 30 days is up, or do you just have to buy a whole new sim?

    • +2

It is a feature we are looking into - currently we are not offering recharging service.

If you need another SIM simply buy another eSIM.

      -Anton

  • +2

I’m sitting on a Thai beach as I type - I bought 3x S.E.A eSim’s for 2x iPhones & 1x iPad — the process was seamless, carrier coverage across Singapore, Malaysia & Thailand have been brilliant (4G). Coupled up with my Boost prepaid, SMS & Wifi calling has been sensational, genuinely surprised to see receive calls and 2FA texts from my bank.

I bought 3x 20 gig packs, I don’t need that much data in hindsight particularly with the readily available resort/hotel wifi.

I’d buy from this mob again without hesitation — easy to use and esim QR codes instantly delivered by email.

    • Which network was used in Malaysia? Celcom or Digi?

NVM. Just saw that both companies have merged.

    • Thanks for the support :)

      -Anton

  • Bit confused on acitivation of the eSIM. It says I can "scan" the esim in Australia prior to my travel. But I read the comment that I should not activate eSIM while I was activating mine so I quickly cancelled the process. Can I add the esim for Japan here in Australia first?

    • I activated at home before I left for the airport — took ~3 min over WIFI

      • So is it okay to scan the eSIM here months before the trip?

    • You can scan the eSIM prior to your travel without “starting” the plan.

      -Anton

      • Hey Anton, what do you mean by starting the plan btw? Would it only start automatically once I'm in Japan?

        • They replied to a similar question above, seems like you are correct, it will only start the plan once you are in Japan.

"You can “scan” your eSIM in Australia, the eSIM will only “start” when it connects to the local network.

          -Anton"

          • @Elision: Yes scanning the eSIM in Australia does nothing except loading the eSIM into your phone, once you land in Japan simply turn data roaming on.

If there is any issues please refer to travelkon.com.au/guides - we find that most issues are due to the eSIM not connecting to the correct network operator (i.e. defaults to Softbank instead of KDDI or NTT Docomo).

            -Anton

  • +1

Used them for recent trip. Physical sim. No issues I didn't even need to contact them, Sim worked perfectly. Thanks guys :-)

    • Thanks for the support :)

      -Anton

  • -1

Hiya. Which one do I need for Bali?

    • Hello the cheapest options would be our Asia 6 Explorer eSIMs.

      -Anton

  • +1

How hard is it to track data seeing there's no app for it?

    • +1

Your mobile phone settings has data tracking features buried in the settings.

But this is a feature that we are working on should be launching soon :)

      -Anton

  • -3

Prices are alright at best. Check out Holafly they are usually unlimited data and ive never had an issue with them

    • +1

Just checked out Japan 30 days option on Holafly and it was 64 USD (96 AUD) vs 28 AUD, more than 3 times more expensive. I’d say TravelKon prices are more than alright.

      • -3

It depends on if you're okay with a data cap - For that 28AUD you get 10gb - it's unlimited with Holafly. I personally use a tonne of data and required it for work while overseas so unlimited was best for me.

  • Thanks purchased.

  • These have become my go to for international SIM cards. Have used their services over the last two years in Malaysia and Singapore, everything has worked great. Bought 2 more for upcoming travels to South Korea last deal.

    • Thanks for the support :)

      -Anton

  • Hello there, I am just wondering if we can freely use the banned apps in China without the need of additional VPN?

    • Yes our China eSIM include automatic VPN and you can access all the blocked sites :)

      -Anton

      • Thanks for the information :)

This must be the most important factor for us to consider when I want to purchase a travel sim card for China.

Is this feature guaranteed? (And I won't travel until mid-June…)

        • Yes guaranteed - we have travelled to Shenzhen and used WhatsApp, Google, Facebook etc without any issues.

Funnily every time we went back to the hotel and connect to their Wi-Fi we were wondering why WhatsApp didn't work…

          -Anton

  • Hey Anton, looking to go to the US and want to grab the 30 day Esim, just checking how the calls work. Will we get a phone number with the Esim that we can make and receive calls with?
Also the notes below the plan say google pixel phones aren’t supported but clicking the link, the T-mobile site says it’s okay, should this be fine?
    Thanks

    • +1

      Hello

The T-Mobile eSIM is a “local” eSIM so you will get a phone number - just like a local Aussie SIM.

Google Pixel has a lot of issues with eSIM, please DO NOT purchase if you have Google Pixel phones (even if T-Mobile website said otherwise).

      -Anton

      • I too was a bit confused by whether I could get an eSim for my pixel 7 for travelling to the USA. Is this something tied to t-mobile or you guys? i.e. if I bought a t-mobile esim in the states would I have the same problems?

        Thanks for your help!

        • We have access to the T-Mobile portal and whenever we enter a Pixel phone's IMEI it will always almost failed - this is from their own portal so just something to be aware of, we cannot guarantee if it will work if you bought with them directly.

          -Anton
