Greenlund 18V Cordless (Skin Only): Jigsaw $7.49, Detail Sander $11.49 + Delivery ($0 with OnePass) @ Catch

100

Saw these two items on clearance. Read in another Ozbargains post that they "MIGHT" be compatible with Aldi batteries. Not sure about this but so cheap I ordered them anyway… we'll see.

only really wanted it to sand my finger prints off. Jigsaw will make it really hard to ID me i guess lol

At this price, will also take the gamble.

Skin only, battery are all out of stock LOL

    • Hence clearance stock.

The only reason to buy this is if you already own Greenlund Batteries or want to test if ALDI Xfinity Battery will be compatible

      • +1

By looking at this image, I can't see Xfinity being compatible.

Just compared the battery and you're right.

Also Catch won't let you cancel and returning it will probably cost just as much as the product itself. Oh wells…

EDIT: Just went to the garage and pulled out the old ALDI "Taurus Titanium" Impact Driver and the battery looks EXACTLY the same as the Greenlund one.

        I've got Triton 18v from Masters too. The compatible brands are;
        Greenlund (Catch)
        Bayer (Sydney Tools)
        Zion (various online retailers)
        X-Power (eBay)

Cheers got the jigsaw. I'll just 3d print an adapter to use my Ozito batteries.

I did this last year when I purchased a bunch of clearance Certa skins ($12-$15 each) from Kogan, works a charm.

    • I also ordered jigsaw with onepass. May I have the STL file for ozito batteries if you don't mind? :)

      • +2

I'll need to wait to get the jigsaw so I can get the dimensions, I've only adapted certa into the past which is different again.

Thingyverse has quite a few adapters for ozito (aka Einhell in Europe). Search for both brands separately for the most complete results.

The good thing about ozito is that their battery management circuitry is in the battery itself, so there is no risk of over discharging when using with other brands of skins.

        • thanks mate! i found couple of models on ozito/einhill but nothing on Greenlund.

        • I can confirm that these battery fits the Greenlund.

It looks even more like a toy when the product shot has the jigsaw blade installed backward.

I think it might just be the jigsaw around the wrong way :)

Check this forum for compatibility. Will not be compatible with Aldi Xfinity.

ARE compatible with Triton (Masters), Bayer (Sydney Tools), X-POWER (ebay).

    • Thanks ABC. Thats actually the thread that made me think might work with Aldi batteries. Must admit I didn't read it in full but saw "I've seen images of older ALDI Taurus (titanium) tools which are also compatible".

I have the ALDI xfinity battery. have Aldi changed battery config?

      • +1

Reading that forum the Aldi Titanium is an older and different line to Aldi Xfinity.

Garage Tough from Autobarn looks to be the same system https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/11403192/redir

Good to have alternate suppliers to Aldi so you don't need to wait an unknown amount of months for their "special buys" to come back.

I have the ALDI xfinity battery. have Aldi changed battery config?

I can confirm that the Xfinity are the current battery ecosystem for ALDI tools that replaced the old Taurus Titanium.

Comparing the Greenlund and Xfinity battery/slot, they are completely different.
