Interesting offer it's a relatively good price for business class (From AUD $3,098) as well, not sure if you get domestic business class as well if you purchase though …

    • Is it The Room?

      • +2

No, 787 operates this route, and I got the 787-8 regional aircraft on 9th June. Overall the business class product is not very good

        • I've found that it's a good hard product for the price. If you got stuck with the regional 2-2-2 B787 though yeah I'd be frustrated by that.

That said it's Premium Economy is probably the best I've flown on.

          • @Cyphar: Yes, checked the history and found 787-8 operating HNDSYD is very rare, hope I can win the Powerball tonight haha

        • I have no complaints about it. Esp for direct from Perth; no other option, might flight. Jump on, sleep, arrive, get out into city refreshed.
I’ve only done this route once, though- it only existed for 3 months or so :(

        • What a story Mark!

    • Domestic flight conjunction with International business is always economy class.

    • Note that the fare is no change no refund though. Before COVID I would buy that but not any more. Also domestic leg is economy. It is always free, so nothing new or special.

  • No 2024 dates for Perth :(

December is excluded, what a surprise /s

Damn so thats what ana stands for.

    • -1

What did you think it stood for?

      • +8

Maybe he just didn't know what it stood for and is happy to have learnt something new. At least that's how I felt after learning what ANA stood for after flying with them several times and not realising it was an acronym.

Not all of us are supreme hentai lords like yourself and I would like to apologise for disappointing you.

          Well that escalated quickly.

Yep ANA = All Nippon (Japan) Airlines

They were gonna go with All Nippon AirLines but… well….

      • Missed opportunity there.

        • I think the graphic designers made up for the missed opportunity with that tail fin placement in the logo…

The website doesn't say how to book those Free Domestic Flights. I searched for PER > HND > KIX > HND > PER in Oct and it shows $6774 for 2pax

    • Yeah I wanna find out how to do this too

    • sale period is 29/10/2023 - 30/11/2023

You just select PER/KIX it means PER/HND/KIX

Flights between HND/KIX is limited so you can choose ITM instead

    • I just had a look so if you do Sydney Tokyo it's the same price as Sydney to Fukuoka (stopping at tokyo)

  • anyone find any avaliabilty for perth at all?

    • Found these: the price showing up is actually for 2 people:
      PER - NAR return 29/10 - 8/11 or 10/11 or 12/11: $2355.22;
      PER - NAR return 1/11 - 8/11 or 10/11 or 12/11: $2355.22;
      PER - NAR - SAP return 29/10 - 11/9 or 11/11 or 14/11: $2,386.42
      PER - NAR - SAP return 1/11 - 11/9 or 11/11 or 14/11: $2,386.42

Problem is the flight to/from Sapporo is actually at Haneda…..

Just did a few more search on Per-Hiroshima/Fukuoka/Osaka. I could only see Osaka (Itami) via Nar. No luck with the rest.

    • I randomly tried PER-NRT-KIX-NRT-PER at Nov, it showed $1196.

  • Free domestic flights is kinda bleh - like $ wise it's a good deal but environmentally it's terrible compared to trains and Japan has one of the best train networks in the world.

    • +3

Rail Pass just went up a lot tho

      • A train ticket can be 50% more expensive than an air ticket.

      • +4

You don't have to buy the rail pass to take the train…

      • Not until Oct it wont

      • Not until mid OCTOBER.
If you buy before ,it will be valid for 3month to exchange.

    • +5

Also from a traveling standpoint, getting to the train is so much faster than getting to and from airport. I'm on holiday to enjoy myself not make connections.

      • Except with the locals

      • Depends. HND is closer to some places than the major train hubs and jf you're going to non tokyo destination first, definitely faster and easier to go via transfer.

Like I was staying in odaiba. 12 mins 700yen bus got me to HND in the morning for a flight. Would be significantly longer to get to Tokyo station.

    • Lots of Japanese fly all the time, it makes sense in a lot of situations and domestic airports are easily accessible by Metro.
Plus taking a train isn't always environmentally friendly….they never take into consideration the construction outputs:

      • Yep so I booked the free domestic flight, really good idea. I'm going from Tokyo taking the shinkansen to one of the end of the line. Rather than take a few hours back by train, I'm back to HND in 1 hour and can be there before lunch to enjoy the place for a few days

  • I love ANA /

    • they really left an opening for this joke

  • +1

Wish they would hurry up and link up with Velocity properly

    • +1

Agreed I want those sweet velocity miles…..

  • I can’t get anywhere near this price when I add in the domestic legs.

May just book it and book the rail pass separately?

Any suggested itineraries from those that have been recently as a family? Skiing, Disney etc?

  • +1

How many domestic flights can you take?

    • Two only

  • +1

Two month cycling holiday in September, Melbourne - Osaka via Taipai with China Airlines $1109 return with 2 x 23kg bags included. Good timetable and good price. ANA is a terrific airline too.

    • That Japanese humidity though… It'll die down early-to-mid September but then the monsoon season kicks in. Hope you enjoy it anyway =)

  • +1

It has always been free. Using that for years. So not really anything special.

  • Economy is hardly a "deal" I looked at similar November dates, and JAL is cheaper…. but business class price wise it's a good deal. ANA at $3k whilst JAL 5k+ and Qantas $9k+

    • Yep, JAL cheaper and very easy to find domestic flights at around $50 P/P to Tokyo to Osaka and vice versa.

  • Coming from Perth, i feel it is still better to take Singapore Airlines and fly via Changi to Osaka or another Japanese city like Fukuoka. Booked for March 2024, $1050 return for PER-KAN and then FUK-PER. It's quite nice to to transit in Changi after 5 hours, splits the journey up quite nicely.
