Welcome to the ultimate guide of Xbox Game Pass subscriptions!

IMPORTANT UPDATE 26 JULY 2023:

OlduBil: "Transfers from foreign bank accounts to our bank accounts in Turkey are not possible".

  • OlduBil is no longer accepting deposits/transfers from foreign bank accounts. Please DO NOT make any transfers into OlduBil (i.e. your Türkiye Mastercard) until further notice!

  • If you already have the funds in OlduBil from a previous transfer, you are free to use it for anything. For those wanting to top up your Türkiye Mastercard, please DO NOT initiate any transfers into OlduBil from Wise or Revolut until I have a new update

  • This deal is expired and is effectively over at this point in time. Every transfer done is at your own risk!

18/07/23: OlduBil has increased their top-up fees to 9.3% (up from 6.25%) stating "Dear customer, our global operations cost increased due to high inflation rate in Turkish Lira. In order to continue the service we provide you we had to change our top-up commission to 9,3%. We appreciate your understanding and support."

Updates:

  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Turkish Lira have crashed even more, so I've corrected all prices in this guide!
  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Fixed the incorrect plan total amount, thanks to @6wolfy9
  • 27/06/23 1:30pm - Due to the sudden and large number of transfers from you guys, Wise is now giving a transfer date of 3rd July. Please avoid Wise if you can and go the Revolut route. I can confirm Revolut transfers are much faster within minutes (or hours at the latest). For those who have already initiated a transfer via Wise, feel free to cancel the transfer (or let it send anyway in case you want to buy cheap Turkey products and services or sign up to other cheap Turkey subs) and go to Revolut.
  • 28/06/23 1:00pm - Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer. - thanks to @netsurfer
  • 03/07/23 2:00am - Edited method, I'm so sorry for making all of you pay for an extra month for no reason for the 36 months plan. Please forgive me.
  • 04/07/23 6:30pm - Microsoft must have caught on, and are blocking OlduBil Virtual cards due to security issues (good fraud prevention). This is an easy fix, and THIS DEAL IS STILL WELL AND ALIVE! Here's what you need to do:
    • Log on microsoft, then go to Contact Us. Click "Contact us" to bring up the 'Contact us' window. For the first dropdown field "What are you having trouble with", select "Subscriptions and Billing". For the second dropdown field "What's the issue", select "I need help purchasing content". For the third field "Describe your issue", man up and say something. Click "Next" > "See contact options" > "Chat online" then you'll be connected with an agent instantly. Tell them you are not able to add your credit card and ask if there's a problem on your MS account. If they ask ridiculous questions, pretend it's all working fine and start a new chat.

Credits to @Scrooge McDeal, who suggested I make a guide on this awesome ALL TIME LOW deal! And you probably know me by now - if I make a guide, best believe it's gonna be good (let me know if someone else can do it better pls). Like Netflix and Disney Plus and literally every guide I've made, I spent a chunk of money out of generosity to test the current validity of this method (I tested transfers from Wise into OlduBil) as well as annotating screenshots throughout the sign-up process (see screenshots in the instructions section). From this testing, I believe this opens a new doorway to a variety of insane deals and prices we weren't able to previously obtain. Please show some love and any comments, concerns, suggestions or feedback are welcome :)

Modern problems require modern solutions. Like Youtube, Netflix, Discord, Google One, Microsoft 365, relocating (virtually of course) to Turkey is usually the best option, with some methods saving hundreds or thousands of dollars each year added up.

The processes below are very easy, just take it slow and you'll get there! Just remember you'll be saving hundreds at the end of the day. The 14 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺374,94 TL ($21.64 AUD, or $1.55/mth) and the 36 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺1034,72 TL ($59.68 AUD, or $1.66/mth). Note that despite the long term 36 month plan has a higher $/mth, it works out cheaper because if you signed up to 14 months, you'll be paying almost 3 times higher if you want to extend at the end of the 14th month.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • No VPN required
  • You must have no current subscriptions

Part 2a - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Wise (App or Web)

Wise fee: ~A$2.13, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Log in or create an account on Wise. You can use the Wise website, or the Wise app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android).

  2. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account via PayID (instant, no fee), POLi (instant, $1.18 AUD fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (business days only, no fee).

  3. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, click onto "Australian Dollar", then "Convert", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "continue" then "convert". Wise charges a 1.07% fee for AUD-TRY conversions.

  4. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, click onto "Turkish Lira", then "Send", then select "Same currency". Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Wise charges a ₺24.34 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). Click "continue", then "New contact", then "Someone else". On this page, leave the "their email" box empty, and tick "I know their bank details". For the "Full name of the account holder" field, type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and for the "IBAN" field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. Continue and in the "Review transfer details" section (see screenshot), double check everything is correct and then for the "Reference for TURK" field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Tick the confirmation box and then "Confirm and send". This transfer will only be initiated during normal Turkey business hours and takes around 10 minutes on Wise's end. My transfer took 2 hours to land into my OlduBil account.

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

Part 2b - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Revolut (App only)

Revolut fee: ~A$1.79, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Download the Revolut app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) if you don't already have it installed.

  2. Open the app and log in or create an account (if you don't have it already).

  3. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account via a debit/credit card (instant, no fee), Apple Pay (instant, no fee), Google Pay (instant, no fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (usually instant, no fee).

  4. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, select "Australian Dollar", then "Exchange", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "Review order" then "Sell AUD for TRY". Revolut charges no fee for currency conversions.

  5. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, go to the buttom tabs of the app and click onto "Transfer", then "+ New" (top right corner), then select "Send International". Scroll down and select "Türkiye" as the destination. Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Revolut charges a ₺30.15 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). For the transer method, select "Bank Account" (this is probably default anyway). For the Reference field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Click "Continue", then on the "Who to pay" page, tap "+ New" (top right corner). Select the "Business" tab. For the IBAN field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the BIC/SWIFT field, type in the BIC code you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the "Company name", type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and ignore the email field. Press "Add the recipient" then on the following page, enter the VakıfBank address (the one from Part 1 Step 3) and review the transfer and estimated arrival, then send it off to Turkey :))

HELP POINT using VakıfBank: TBC but very similar to Aktifbank (just different bank information) see above screenshots for process

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

  • I am unable to transfer my TRY from my FUPS account to Oldubil

I tried transferring straight from Oldubill app through, My Wallet >> Deposit Money >> Deposit via Credit/Debit Card. However, when trying to do the 3D Secure Verification with FUPS through the validation method of "iPhone-IOS" I get the error of "Unfortunately, the time allowed to confirm this transaction has expired". If I click off the error and just click confirm on FUPS. It says approved and goes through. Then throws me back to the previous screen saying "Your 3D Secure Transaction has not been confirmed".

I followed the guide by "joeydeacon" from here FUPS Guide

    • I've encountered that same issue too. I sometimes have to re-attempt the verification 2-3 times before it works.

    • sometimes it takes a couple of goes…close the apps, launch them and try again

  • Hi, does this still work? What happened to the old method of buying Turkish gift cards? No longer viable?

  • Hi Guys,

Jus thought I'd share my experience and what I now do to avoid huge fees.
I currently have two accounts, one with Fups and another with Oldubil and I'm in the middle of transitioning all my payments onto my FUPS card.

FUPS supports 3ds and from my experience, its accepted in many more places.

The Wise transfer to Oldubil still works (did today 18/09/2023), although I haven't tested with Revolut yet so I am not sure. Yes there is a 9.3% fee. To avoid this, FUPS topups do NOT take any fees so the only fees you pay on your end are the Revolut fees. Once you've topped up to FUPS, you can easily just use your FUPS card to topup Oldubil.

FUPS topup I do through Revolut basically the same way you topup the oldubil card through bank transfer and it is mentioned in the OG post (I use Vakifbank).

To setup a FUPS card, I have paid for a singular turkish sms verification code (around $0.60) and a FUPS physical visa card (around $2). I do not sell these, I purchase them from third party providers. Since it is only a throw away number for turkish sms verification code, if you have the FUPS app, its paramount that you never logout otherwise you will not be able to log back in resulting in a loss of funds, closing the app is fine but do not click that logout button.
If you're interested, please dm me and I'll send you the method or if enough people are interested I can make a public post although I am not 100% sure if it is allowed.

    • Sadly I couldn't go Revolut to Oldubil, I might try Vakifbank and see if that works given the others knocked back.

EDIT: Can confirm, not allowed… Stuck without a working IBAN it seems…

    • I can't seem to DM you but would like to get more information about the third party providers and how to do the turkish sms verification code. Thanks!

  • Tried using Wise —> FUPS using Vakifbank with no luck. Comes up with "we are unable to send payments to this recipient" any ideas on how to get around it? Should I set up a Revoult acc?

  • hello I have a question, I have a subscription for 2 months of gamepass ultimate, if I cancel the automatic payment, I can follow the steps and buy 3 months + 3 months + 3 months +3 months and then buy 1 month of ultimate and add it to the 2 months What do I already have? Greetings and I hope someone can clarify for me, I am new to Xbox and I don't understand much, greetings and thank you very much

  • Anybody else got screwed after the iOS update and subsequent logout from the FUPS app? Lucky I transferred a bunch of money to oldubil because now I can’t login on FUPS anymore so my card is gone

    • Same here, can not recover the account.
I have all information require to recover FUPS account but when I use forget password all I get is “Transaction Failed”.

      • Yep, can confirm same issue as above since update to IOS17 !!

        • I am going to drop FUPS. I will try Binance P2P trading.

          • @SJ50: Found setting up FUPS too much fluffing around. Looked at Binance as well and at the time seem to be quite step intensive however with limited options I may have to revisit!

    • Same here, contacted FUPS and got a reply.

      "Hello,
In order to take action or make technical examination on an account/card, account owner’s “on call verification” is mandatory due to legal protocols (KVKK). You need to get in touch with our customer services on 0 850 226 36 46 about this inquiry, between 08:00-18:00 in working days for English/Arabic support.
      Sincerely,
      FUPS"

      So I think that's ggs

  • Just a heads up folks. Good things and good times are about to come to an end.

Best be using your Oldubil balance ASAP

    https://www.oldubil.com.tr/sayfa/14-oldubil_announcement/?dn…

    • Yes saw this too. I am currently using it for spotify and still got a bit of balance left. What else do people use it for?

      • Extend Xbox sub? Much more pricey but can't really think of anything else I'd use it for. Most other things can be provided from ahem, other places.

        • Until they get too popular and they crack down on it

        • Hm i don't have xbox sub and it looks like it is too late to set it up for xbox. What else can I use it for?

    • Do you think this will affect existing subs like spotify and netflix

    • I tried to use my Oldubil balance on getting gift cards from Turgame but all 4 channels (IYZI/PAYR/PARRA/GPAY) are rejecting my payment. Anyone having luck?

      • Did you try just purchasing a month of game pass on the Xbox store? Was working for me 2 hours ago

        • Nope, as it’s got my Aussie number linked it fails at the 3d verification part 😑

What can we spend the lira on or is now lost.

      • +1

I just bought a bunch of games on the Xbox store to empty my Oldubil account, seemed to work fine.

  • anyone have other suggestions for other turkish virtual card services like oldubil?

  • so since this workaround uses Oldubil, it's pretty much the end, no other method to get cheap(er) subscription, is there?

    • There are other turkish virtual card services, but they seem to be more complicated in the application process than Oldubil. Fups card is one for example, but i cant seem to get past their application process as they require a Turkish ID number when you apply through IOS.

  • For anyone looking to drain their balances I've just bought games on steam & PSN without any issues.

    • How did you get a steam Turkish account working? I purchased a few but after using my oldubil or fups card it blocked payment.

      • +1

Dunno, never had any issues with it, just created acc using vpn a couple months back and have bought 100+ games without issue.

        • Thanks for replying. May I ask did you initially fund the account with steam gift cards or your OlduBil card?
Also did you create the account in Australia and then switch the region to turkey after using a VPN?

Sorry to be a bother I’ve just tried around 4 times and it never works lol I’ve bought all the accounts but funding is the issue it always gets blocked

          • @Yaas: Have never used gift cards. Set up the turkish steam acc sometime in July this year and all purchases were charged to oldubil ccs (have a few cards, no issues paying wirh any of them). Not sure if it makes a difference but I do use a turkish vpn when browsing & buying games on this account.

    • For Steam are you using an Australian account or a brand new Turkish account? I tried with Aus account and it declined everytime. @Arealtur Kishman 69

      • I have a second Turkish acc & enable family sharing with my main acc

        • Ahh I see. Nice! I ended up buying a bunch of games from Microsoft. Had to burn 1500TL

  • Hi guys, I purchased 3 x 3 months core memberships and then purchased a 1 month ultimate membership. However, it only converted 6 months to ultimate instead of 9 months. So now I have 7 months total when I should have had 10. Is there anything I can do to get my 3 months added to the ultimate membership? Should I contact MS support?
Under my cancelled subscriptions it shows my game pass core, if I click on “manage” next to it, it shows the full 9 months and gives me an option to resubscribe. If I click on this will it add the 3 months to my ultimate or will it change my ultimate membership back to a core?

Good thing I received the Oldubil notification in time. Purchased Phantom Liberty DLC, The Expanse TellTale and Resident Evil 4 in time. Had hoped to buy Alan Wake 2 cheaply with Oldubil but now that I have FUPS, I'll try using that when it is released.

    • Could you please tell us if fups still working when yo try

  • a bit off topic but related - if I have currently Xbox Game Pass PC subscription and run out at the end of year, can I apply the 1-month free trial redeem code which I got from buying Xbox controller?

It says for new member only, which make sense since it did not work when I tried to redeem it.
But I wonder if the definition of new member for Xbox Game Pass is any member without active subscription.

    Does anyone know?

  • Anyone having trouble with FUPS today? Everything's been working smoothly with Revolut to FUPS transfers, made a few purchases. It's logged me out a couple times and I've followed the procedure listed in the comments to get back in (Forgot password, last 4 digits of the card etc) but tonight it's just coming up with Transaction Failed when trying to get back in. Hoping it's some sort of glitch as just transferred $20 AUD to the card. Won't be too upset if I can't get back in given the savings I've had but still would be nice haha

    • Just to follow on from this: it seems like there has been some regulatory changes in Turkey - some peoples FUPS are still working fine, others are having the issue like mine where it's logged out/possibly closed the account. I've tried to cancel the bank transfer with Revolut since it hasn't hit the bank in Turkey since it's the weekend, as mentioned it's only $20 worth.

I would suggest anyone who reads this and plans a transfer to log into FUPS and make sure it's up and running and then maybe make a smaller transaction to confirm it goes through smoothly!

      • Wish i saw this earlier, Seems like my account got closed the same day I added funds to it yesterday.

  • damn it looks like i have to find a cheap android phone

How can I put money into Oldubil with all these changes? Can anyone confirm a working method. I'm due to pay for Spotify and I used Revolut->Oldubil before.

I did it via Binance on Friday

Essentially buy USDT with and AUD Deposit

Then go into trade P2P and sell your USDT to someone who will pay to your Oldubil details (IBAN and Card via Ziraat bank)

First time doing it was a little nerve racking but it's actually fairly seemless and Binance make sure both parties are clicking accept and confirmed that you received the funds in Oldubil before they will release the payment to the other party.

All up $25 AUD got me 405 Turkish Lira into Oldubil (367 TRY after Oldubil took a cut)

367 TRY = $20.99 AUD right now, so it's not as good as before, however depending what buying the savings are still good.

  • Is the Wise method still up to date in the post (using Garanti Bankasi)?

  • Just registered for Oldubil using temp-phone.org. Added funds via Wise TRY account and the funds got transferred in 5mins. Don't know if I can still buy the pass from MS using the Oldubil card.

I bought Xbox games on Tuesday.

      • Can you still buy games?

    • +1

and I just got a month and can verify everything works.

  • trying to do international transfer via revolt getting this error - failed because "the recipient bank is currently not available"

    • Seems only wise works now not wise?

  • Has anyone tried purchasing Xbox codes through Oldubil and redeeming it?

  • Can anyone still buy games on xbox account using oldubil?

    • +2

No - it seems like Oldubil have now actually implemented the restrictions they mentioned earlier in the month: https://old.reddit.com/r/steamregionaltricks/comments/17gz9a…

I tried buying a cheap game a few minutes ago but got a message which translates as: 'Choose a different payment method. We were unable to obtain authorization for this purchase. Choose a different payment method or contact your payment provider.'

      • Can we transfer out of oldubil back to fups?

Is fups still working for buying games?

      • Yup, can confirm, it's finally dead for steam at least. Muh 64 lira balance (ಥ﹏ಥ), could've picked up 10 games for that ╰(ɵ̥̥ ˑ̫ ɵ̥̥ ╰).

I did try the oldubil app yesterday arvo and kept getting a message saying they were updating their systems, must have pushed through the changes then.

Ah well, the hundreds of games I picked up across Turkish Steam & PS Store will have to suffice for now.

  • Hey guys.. What happened here?

Like many others, I sorted out the 36 month deal and as far as I knew it was all good.

My son told me yesterday that he is still able to play his old games, but can;t get any new games?

    What did I miss ?

    • Oldubil has blocked cards being used from xbox and other stores.

      • But I had already paid?

It was all paid for and set up months ago, and suddenly the subscription is gone

We were good until 2026, but it has suddenly expired

        • Oh na mine is still ok. You wouldn't be able to play any games if gamepass wasnt working only the game you bought

  • Wise said payment successfully transferred. How long does it take to appear in Oldubill account?

    • +1

1 day. But You cant use oldubil for xbox anymore.

      • It won't work for my gamepass subscription monthly anymore?

        • You will have to buy it through oldubil not through Microsoft.

          • @Jklaro: What do you mean by this sorry? Thank you

            • @Bargainhunter365: Inside the oldubil app you can buy gift cards. There you will find gamepass gift cards.

              • +1

@Jklaro: Any chance you can tell me where to look please? I cant find a gift cards section

      • +1

dont think you can use oldubil on any store other than the ones they have verified anymore

  • Would using pingme for a turkish number fix any of the issues with Oldubil?

    • Don't believe so, they announced a few months ago that they were going to stop allowing payments from stores that weren't verified by the turkish government or whatever it is. Don't really understand why they did it as i would think international users were a bit part of their revenue source and they just crushed it. I have now moved to ininal card instead for my subscriptions.

      • What is the process to sign up with ininial like? I've heard they need passport validation?

      • Any chance you can write up a quick guide please? Does it work with Australian passports?

        • +2

Yea you do need an Australian passport to sign up. The process is pretty simple you just have to fill out the form and follow the prompts and they will then verify your account. Topping up your account is a little more challenging though. I haven't been able to top up with Wise or Revolut and ive read a couple of reddit posts saying that it hasn't been possible for them too. I have been topping up with binance p2p as it seems to be the only way. There should be videos on youtube telling you how to top up that way. Hope this help : )

          • @wes0110: Thanks heaps. Is there a way to change the language on inanal app?

          • @wes0110: Can you buy games from xbox store with inanal?

  • I got 500 TRY, what should I use it on now?

    • +1

The only thing you can do is buy E-pins on Oldubil app, allowing you to purchase gift cards for Apple, Xbox, Google Play store etc.

      • I can't find Xbox gift card in the E-pins catalogue on Oldubil app >_<

  • Ok so spotify isn't working for me any more using the oldubil card. Was great while it lasted. Sigh.
