Welcome to the ultimate guide of Xbox Game Pass subscriptions!

IMPORTANT UPDATE 26 JULY 2023:

OlduBil: "Transfers from foreign bank accounts to our bank accounts in Turkey are not possible".

  • OlduBil is no longer accepting deposits/transfers from foreign bank accounts. Please DO NOT make any transfers into OlduBil (i.e. your Türkiye Mastercard) until further notice!

  • If you already have the funds in OlduBil from a previous transfer, you are free to use it for anything. For those wanting to top up your Türkiye Mastercard, please DO NOT initiate any transfers into OlduBil from Wise or Revolut until I have a new update

  • This deal is expired and is effectively over at this point in time. Every transfer done is at your own risk!

18/07/23: OlduBil has increased their top-up fees to 9.3% (up from 6.25%) stating "Dear customer, our global operations cost increased due to high inflation rate in Turkish Lira. In order to continue the service we provide you we had to change our top-up commission to 9,3%. We appreciate your understanding and support."

Updates:

  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Turkish Lira have crashed even more, so I've corrected all prices in this guide!
  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Fixed the incorrect plan total amount, thanks to @6wolfy9
  • 27/06/23 1:30pm - Due to the sudden and large number of transfers from you guys, Wise is now giving a transfer date of 3rd July. Please avoid Wise if you can and go the Revolut route. I can confirm Revolut transfers are much faster within minutes (or hours at the latest). For those who have already initiated a transfer via Wise, feel free to cancel the transfer (or let it send anyway in case you want to buy cheap Turkey products and services or sign up to other cheap Turkey subs) and go to Revolut.
  • 28/06/23 1:00pm - Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer. - thanks to @netsurfer
  • 03/07/23 2:00am - Edited method, I'm so sorry for making all of you pay for an extra month for no reason for the 36 months plan. Please forgive me.
  • 04/07/23 6:30pm - Microsoft must have caught on, and are blocking OlduBil Virtual cards due to security issues (good fraud prevention). This is an easy fix, and THIS DEAL IS STILL WELL AND ALIVE! Here's what you need to do:
    • Log on microsoft, then go to Contact Us. Click "Contact us" to bring up the 'Contact us' window. For the first dropdown field "What are you having trouble with", select "Subscriptions and Billing". For the second dropdown field "What's the issue", select "I need help purchasing content". For the third field "Describe your issue", man up and say something. Click "Next" > "See contact options" > "Chat online" then you'll be connected with an agent instantly. Tell them you are not able to add your credit card and ask if there's a problem on your MS account. If they ask ridiculous questions, pretend it's all working fine and start a new chat.

Credits to @Scrooge McDeal, who suggested I make a guide on this awesome ALL TIME LOW deal! And you probably know me by now - if I make a guide, best believe it's gonna be good (let me know if someone else can do it better pls). Like Netflix and Disney Plus and literally every guide I've made, I spent a chunk of money out of generosity to test the current validity of this method (I tested transfers from Wise into OlduBil) as well as annotating screenshots throughout the sign-up process (see screenshots in the instructions section). From this testing, I believe this opens a new doorway to a variety of insane deals and prices we weren't able to previously obtain. Please show some love and any comments, concerns, suggestions or feedback are welcome :)

Modern problems require modern solutions. Like Youtube, Netflix, Discord, Google One, Microsoft 365, relocating (virtually of course) to Turkey is usually the best option, with some methods saving hundreds or thousands of dollars each year added up.

The processes below are very easy, just take it slow and you'll get there! Just remember you'll be saving hundreds at the end of the day. The 14 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺374,94 TL ($21.64 AUD, or $1.55/mth) and the 36 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺1034,72 TL ($59.68 AUD, or $1.66/mth). Note that despite the long term 36 month plan has a higher $/mth, it works out cheaper because if you signed up to 14 months, you'll be paying almost 3 times higher if you want to extend at the end of the 14th month.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • No VPN required
  • You must have no current subscriptions

Part 2a - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Wise (App or Web)

Wise fee: ~A$2.13, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Log in or create an account on Wise. You can use the Wise website, or the Wise app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android).

  2. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account via PayID (instant, no fee), POLi (instant, $1.18 AUD fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (business days only, no fee).

  3. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, click onto "Australian Dollar", then "Convert", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "continue" then "convert". Wise charges a 1.07% fee for AUD-TRY conversions.

  4. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, click onto "Turkish Lira", then "Send", then select "Same currency". Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Wise charges a ₺24.34 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). Click "continue", then "New contact", then "Someone else". On this page, leave the "their email" box empty, and tick "I know their bank details". For the "Full name of the account holder" field, type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and for the "IBAN" field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. Continue and in the "Review transfer details" section (see screenshot), double check everything is correct and then for the "Reference for TURK" field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Tick the confirmation box and then "Confirm and send". This transfer will only be initiated during normal Turkey business hours and takes around 10 minutes on Wise's end. My transfer took 2 hours to land into my OlduBil account.

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

Part 2b - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Revolut (App only)

Revolut fee: ~A$1.79, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Download the Revolut app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) if you don't already have it installed.

  2. Open the app and log in or create an account (if you don't have it already).

  3. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account via a debit/credit card (instant, no fee), Apple Pay (instant, no fee), Google Pay (instant, no fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (usually instant, no fee).

  4. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, select "Australian Dollar", then "Exchange", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "Review order" then "Sell AUD for TRY". Revolut charges no fee for currency conversions.

  5. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, go to the buttom tabs of the app and click onto "Transfer", then "+ New" (top right corner), then select "Send International". Scroll down and select "Türkiye" as the destination. Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Revolut charges a ₺30.15 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). For the transer method, select "Bank Account" (this is probably default anyway). For the Reference field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Click "Continue", then on the "Who to pay" page, tap "+ New" (top right corner). Select the "Business" tab. For the IBAN field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the BIC/SWIFT field, type in the BIC code you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the "Company name", type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and ignore the email field. Press "Add the recipient" then on the following page, enter the VakıfBank address (the one from Part 1 Step 3) and review the transfer and estimated arrival, then send it off to Turkey :))

    HELP POINT using Aktifbank: Screenshots of the process for step 5 in the following order: (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), (8), (9)

HELP POINT using VakıfBank: TBC but very similar to Aktifbank (just different bank information) see above screenshots for process

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

Awesome deal!! With prices going up on the 6th of July. This is the cheapest ever!!

    • +2

      All thanks to you

    • Cheapest there ever will be again most likely, but there was a time (a long time ago) when you could've gotten it free with some ANZ Alienware promotion.

      • +1

i mean, it's still free with MS rewards tbh

        • Ms rewards?

        • You pay with your Clicks lol

  • Everything Turkey XD

I assume should use a new email address, like the one use with Disney +, so that it won't affect other stuffs under that account.

    • Follow the steps, works a treat. You can't get any cheaper than this.

      • Did you use your existing Microsoft account (Xbox) or you created a new one for that? Because existing Microsoft account may have other subscription in it, like 365 personal.

        • +2

During testing, I used my existing Microsoft account

          • @I Smell Pennies: A bit worry to use existing MS account with subscription like 365 Personal, OneDrive files in it.

          • @I Smell Pennies: Did your existing Microsoft account have an active Microsoft 365 subscription?

Do you think this method would work on an account with a MS365 sub active?
Or do you have to have no subs at all on the account, not just Xbox Game Pass.

              • @xdpx: Thanks, this is my exact situation, will do this tonight 👍

              • @xdpx: How'd you get a M365 sub for multiple years? I thought that you can only pay annually/monthly.

            • @Warchest: I did it on a test account with nothing on it, but I don't see why it would affect anything else. You're not using VPN or anything, you're simplying buying a subscription from a different country.

  • Mine expires in August 😭

    • Same here, I believe you can contact them via chat to cancel effective immediately and then resub for 3 yrs. This worked for people with the deal the other day.

    • Wondering if it's possible terminate your already accrued Game Pass period early.

Edit: Successfully cancelled my subscription via chat Contact Us > See Contact Options > virtual agent > spamming "Talk to a person" in chat > Requesting a call back.

      • What reason did you give them for cancelling it? What do I need to tell them?

        • I just said I no longer have a use for it.

          • @TeddyBear: Any suggestion of refund of value or anything…? Or it just gets wiped and cancelled

            • +1

@kudoz: I had 7 months left through Brazillian Live codes and it got wipes

            • @kudoz: I got a refund of $15 for cancelling 2 months in advance.
              Went to my Paypal.

              • @MajorGaz: Did your PayPal refund actually come through to PayPal though? I got a message and email from Microsoft that I would get a $15.95 refund, but nothing in my PayPal as yet…

          • @TeddyBear: And then what did you do? Resub through turkey using the same account?

  • -5

So it wont work with an aussie card

  • +6

You could've posted this yesterday, just before I subbed to the ~$140 3 yr one! :P

    • Same 🥹

    • +2

Same. Have to say it was a lot easier tho…

      • How do you do this way please.

    • your microchip malfunctioned, didnt let him know

    • +8

      Sorry :((((
I had the draft all done but I had to wait until Monday afternoon for my money to be transferred under Turkey trading hours so I can test all this. I wouldn’t want you all to lose money in case it didn’t work

      • Thanks for your efforts. Really appreciate

    • It actually cost me $170 yesterday.

  • +6

    And so simple!

    • +6

Honestly not even sure if it's worth it. Had GP for the last year and a bit and the monthly offerings were disappointing

  • damn just bought a 2 month code the other day. if i buy this code now will it be alright to use in a month or so?

    • There is no code in relation to this deal. You're buying directly from Microsoft Turkey. You use need a Turkey based Virtual Masterard (see instructions).

  • You are a legend. So detailed. Man this has gotten way more complicated. I think the last time I paid $80 or $90, but that was just bying gift cards from some CD Key retailer. Got at least a year left I think.

    • +13

This is more complicated than the usual posts I do, yes I agree, but I just found the way to obtain a Turkey based Virtual Mastercard. Think about how many deals will pop up now because of this post :))

      • +2

        You do gods work

  • +1

Great guide! I wonder if switching over to Aus and doing the final month / conversion to ultimate (at higher cost) in Australian dollars reduces the risk of the plug being pulled on your sub if they were to ever tighten their security, since your subscription should then be fully Australian.

    • Who knows? Everyone who legitimately bought Diablo 4 Ultimate Edition from Microsoft Australia had their licences revoked.

      • +1

I think that was a bit of a different situation because it was a price error.

      • What's diablo 4 cost in turkey though?

        • Blizzard, Ubisoft, and a few other companies have already adjusted their game pricing on Turkish online stores so it's not much of a saving compared to Australian store, iirc it's between TYR1500 - TYR2000+++

    • Thanks. I don't think there will be any issues @snoopydoop

  • Assuming that I can't add this onto a currently active account?

    • Don't think so.

I recently paid around $55 for 14 months.

Not sure I'll be using it that often to justify setting up a new account and paying $60 for 3 years though.

Anyway to cheaply extend current subs before the price rise?

  • +1

what if I have current subscription in Turkey alreay, can I top up?

  • +2

Amazing, thank you so much. Just a quick question. I'm on monthly Gamepass ultimate, if I cancel renewal, does that count as not having a sub? Can I do this? Thank you!

  • +2

Quick. Someone tell the guy that was in Turkey.

  • +1

great deal, probably best to use a new account if you have anything on your existing MS account just in case

    • So, I have about a year left but still think this deal would be worth it. If I create a new email address and Xbox account, can I use this in tandem (forGO game downloads) while my game saves and progress still apply to my original account?

        register
        build your CV
        apply for every open position
        sit through 100 interviews
        land a job
in a week or so you'll get your GPU
        profit!

        • +2

As a Microsoft shareholder, I'll make sure you are blacklisted from joining Microsoft for life.
No free GPU for you. Come back next life.

          • @netsurfer: too late for that, my mate! unless I don't survive the next round of HC reduction

  • Anybody tried using Citibank plus to transfer

    • Just checked, no Turkey lira :(

  • 😔 Sub won't end till Oct… Sigh

    Insane deal!

Amazing, been using xbgp for last few months and it's been great even at the $140 for 3 year deal

Finished hollow knight and almost done with Ori.

Day one releases have been good too with minecraft legends etc

  • Can I use a "Turkish" card that I created with Wise last year for the PSN deal? Or is it better to get a new one?

    • +1

I just tried Wise card and it was declined because technically it's australian card, not turkish. Have to go full process as per guide.

    • No. You need a Turkey based card. What the above comment said ^

  • @I Smell Pennies Can I use Wise Virtual card to pay? or it must be oldubil? I used wise virtual card to buy playstation subscription

This is amazing, paid about $145 a few weeks ago to renew for three years.

    • Same 😭

The real question is, can I complete Starfield in 14 months.

    • +3

You need 16 months (16 times the detail).

Are we required to provide drivers licence or passport when creating a Wise or Revolut account? Also curious if the virtual Turkey card can only be topped up in increments of $70-160 (give and take the exchange rate)?

Already took advantage of the 3 year deal but this may be useful for other subs such as Plex

    • Yes I had to provide id info for Revolut, wise was the same I just opted Revolut cos I seem to get more for the same $ amount

  • In Part 4 when I'm buying the xbox live, and it asks for my card (turkish one) it's asking for an address too, what do i put there?

  • I can't cancel my monthly subscription from the recurring bill which expires tomorrow. It's showing an error on the page. Any suggestions?

thanks ISP. the turkish VCC is the best part of this deal. opens up so many avenues.

Perfect timing. I have like 3 days left, so I will get MS to cancel mine tonight.

EDIT: Had to request a call but a very lovely MS support rep helped me cancel it over the phone.
    I'm going in.
