Welcome to the ultimate guide of Xbox Game Pass subscriptions!

IMPORTANT UPDATE 26 JULY 2023:

OlduBil: "Transfers from foreign bank accounts to our bank accounts in Turkey are not possible".

  • OlduBil is no longer accepting deposits/transfers from foreign bank accounts. Please DO NOT make any transfers into OlduBil (i.e. your Türkiye Mastercard) until further notice!

  • If you already have the funds in OlduBil from a previous transfer, you are free to use it for anything. For those wanting to top up your Türkiye Mastercard, please DO NOT initiate any transfers into OlduBil from Wise or Revolut until I have a new update

  • This deal is expired and is effectively over at this point in time. Every transfer done is at your own risk!

18/07/23: OlduBil has increased their top-up fees to 9.3% (up from 6.25%) stating "Dear customer, our global operations cost increased due to high inflation rate in Turkish Lira. In order to continue the service we provide you we had to change our top-up commission to 9,3%. We appreciate your understanding and support."

Updates:

  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Turkish Lira have crashed even more, so I've corrected all prices in this guide!
  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Fixed the incorrect plan total amount, thanks to @6wolfy9
  • 27/06/23 1:30pm - Due to the sudden and large number of transfers from you guys, Wise is now giving a transfer date of 3rd July. Please avoid Wise if you can and go the Revolut route. I can confirm Revolut transfers are much faster within minutes (or hours at the latest). For those who have already initiated a transfer via Wise, feel free to cancel the transfer (or let it send anyway in case you want to buy cheap Turkey products and services or sign up to other cheap Turkey subs) and go to Revolut.
  • 28/06/23 1:00pm - Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer. - thanks to @netsurfer
  • 03/07/23 2:00am - Edited method, I'm so sorry for making all of you pay for an extra month for no reason for the 36 months plan. Please forgive me.
  • 04/07/23 6:30pm - Microsoft must have caught on, and are blocking OlduBil Virtual cards due to security issues (good fraud prevention). This is an easy fix, and THIS DEAL IS STILL WELL AND ALIVE! Here's what you need to do:
    • Log on microsoft, then go to Contact Us. Click "Contact us" to bring up the 'Contact us' window. For the first dropdown field "What are you having trouble with", select "Subscriptions and Billing". For the second dropdown field "What's the issue", select "I need help purchasing content". For the third field "Describe your issue", man up and say something. Click "Next" > "See contact options" > "Chat online" then you'll be connected with an agent instantly. Tell them you are not able to add your credit card and ask if there's a problem on your MS account. If they ask ridiculous questions, pretend it's all working fine and start a new chat.

Credits to @Scrooge McDeal, who suggested I make a guide on this awesome ALL TIME LOW deal! And you probably know me by now - if I make a guide, best believe it's gonna be good (let me know if someone else can do it better pls). Like Netflix and Disney Plus and literally every guide I've made, I spent a chunk of money out of generosity to test the current validity of this method (I tested transfers from Wise into OlduBil) as well as annotating screenshots throughout the sign-up process (see screenshots in the instructions section). From this testing, I believe this opens a new doorway to a variety of insane deals and prices we weren't able to previously obtain. Please show some love and any comments, concerns, suggestions or feedback are welcome :)

Modern problems require modern solutions. Like Youtube, Netflix, Discord, Google One, Microsoft 365, relocating (virtually of course) to Turkey is usually the best option, with some methods saving hundreds or thousands of dollars each year added up.

The processes below are very easy, just take it slow and you'll get there! Just remember you'll be saving hundreds at the end of the day. The 14 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺374,94 TL ($21.64 AUD, or $1.55/mth) and the 36 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺1034,72 TL ($59.68 AUD, or $1.66/mth). Note that despite the long term 36 month plan has a higher $/mth, it works out cheaper because if you signed up to 14 months, you'll be paying almost 3 times higher if you want to extend at the end of the 14th month.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • No VPN required
  • You must have no current subscriptions

Part 2a - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Wise (App or Web)

Wise fee: ~A$2.13, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Log in or create an account on Wise. You can use the Wise website, or the Wise app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android).

  2. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account via PayID (instant, no fee), POLi (instant, $1.18 AUD fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (business days only, no fee).

  3. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, click onto "Australian Dollar", then "Convert", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "continue" then "convert". Wise charges a 1.07% fee for AUD-TRY conversions.

  4. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, click onto "Turkish Lira", then "Send", then select "Same currency". Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Wise charges a ₺24.34 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). Click "continue", then "New contact", then "Someone else". On this page, leave the "their email" box empty, and tick "I know their bank details". For the "Full name of the account holder" field, type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and for the "IBAN" field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. Continue and in the "Review transfer details" section (see screenshot), double check everything is correct and then for the "Reference for TURK" field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Tick the confirmation box and then "Confirm and send". This transfer will only be initiated during normal Turkey business hours and takes around 10 minutes on Wise's end. My transfer took 2 hours to land into my OlduBil account.

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

Part 2b - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Revolut (App only)

Revolut fee: ~A$1.79, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Download the Revolut app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) if you don't already have it installed.

  2. Open the app and log in or create an account (if you don't have it already).

  3. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account via a debit/credit card (instant, no fee), Apple Pay (instant, no fee), Google Pay (instant, no fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (usually instant, no fee).

  4. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, select "Australian Dollar", then "Exchange", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "Review order" then "Sell AUD for TRY". Revolut charges no fee for currency conversions.

  5. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, go to the buttom tabs of the app and click onto "Transfer", then "+ New" (top right corner), then select "Send International". Scroll down and select "Türkiye" as the destination. Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Revolut charges a ₺30.15 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). For the transer method, select "Bank Account" (this is probably default anyway). For the Reference field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Click "Continue", then on the "Who to pay" page, tap "+ New" (top right corner). Select the "Business" tab. For the IBAN field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the BIC/SWIFT field, type in the BIC code you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the "Company name", type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and ignore the email field. Press "Add the recipient" then on the following page, enter the VakıfBank address (the one from Part 1 Step 3) and review the transfer and estimated arrival, then send it off to Turkey :))

HELP POINT using VakıfBank: TBC but very similar to Aktifbank (just different bank information) see above screenshots for process

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

        • Up to you. With Wise, you can cancel anytime up until the date and time it states

  • I'm trying to cancel my GPU account as suggested via Contact Us callback but the request callback option is not available at the moment, sigh. Has anyone been able to set up this deal by just cancelling their subscription directly on the subscriptions page? My GPU renews next month 14 July.

    • +1

I had this same issue - I simply kept trying to log in and try the chat, eventually the live chat option was open and I cancelled that way. The opening hours kept changing for me so my advice would be to keep trying.

      • thanks. I didn't read the screen properly but their chat times at least for me starts at 6pm AEST, so will wait till then. I did go through the chat bot options and it did state that if cancelling subscription there are 2 options, 1. cancel by next billing cycle & 2. cancel immediately with refund so probably don't need to speak to anyone. But just to be safe, I'm going to stick with the tried & tested of speaking with a rep :)

    • +1

I cancelled directly on the subscription page and that seemed to work fine, have 36 months now. They refunded $1

      • Cheers - were you presented with the option to cancel immediately?

        • I was, yes

      • Tried cancelling from the subscription page but then got a message that I can't cancel my subscription, sigh. Will have to wait for callback to be available from 6pm.

  • Thanks OP have now received TRY in OlduBil account. Does anyone have specific knowledge on how to sign up to Plex premium using this virtual card? Im getting a checkout error even when using a Turkey VPN

    • What does the error say when you use the virtual Turkey card? I was going to do that, if it doesn’t work I might not transfer to LIRA

      • It just say there was an unexpected error and to try again or contact support. After trying about 4 times it says there were too many payment attempt and to wait 30 minutes. I have waited the 30 minutes and get the same result.

        • Weird. Would like to know if anyone has got Plex premium working…

          • +1

@Deals For Days: I just bought Plex Pass lifetime, worked first time. Was using NordVPN obfuscated server to Turkey, used Oldubil card and 06700 as the postcode for payment details. This was on a preexisting Plex account that I've been using for years.

            • +1

@kaneoriley: Great to hear thank you!!

            • @kaneoriley: Could be Plex has blocked the VPN IP(I am using Windscribe). I was also trying to buy the monthly subscription, I dont want to load the full amount if it is not going to work as i have no other use for the TRY. I will see if i can find a trial of nordvpn and test it out

  • +1

Thanks OP - went with your new suggestion of using Revolut. Its been sent now just waiting for it to land in my OlduBill

  • +2

Unfortunately the money transfer from wise is super slow… I am still waiting…. From last night….

    • ditto

  • I was hoping this could be done in New Zealand, but the OlduBil app is not properly sending the phone verification codes it seems :(
Please, if someone in New Zealand was able to do it, please let me know!

    • +1

Same here using WISE, by far, still haven't got money landed.

    • As ISP added, cancel your WISE transcation then go with Revolut.

  • curious for any playstation people on how they tried to replicate this with PS Plus. I've been trying to create an account with a turkey VPN on with turkish addresses but I keep running into "can't create an account. contact customer support for assistance." on the web browser. might work on console-only? also tried to use my existing playstation account using the turkish vpn but also no luck - couldn't even sign in.

    • +2

Yep create the account on the console itself. Was the only way I could create a Turkish account.

      • thanks, i thought so

  • Anyone got thoughts on cancelling wise transfer and starting again with revolut? I’m a bit worried about the 6 day transfer timeline

    • After reading the updates I created an account with Revolut and did a transfer. Still waiting for it to be accepted by oldubil.

Haven't cancelled the Wise payment however. To be honest wouldn't be too upset if they both worked quickly as theres a few PSN games I will need soon.

    • I just cancelled mine wise transfer, as waiting time is way too long…

    • It's 6:15 AM in London. Obviously, we are anxious because this deal has quite a few steps. Cancel the transfer would have the money back in TRY, then what's the next step? Convert that back into AUD?

It's up to you, if you can't wait, then do the Revolut transfer.

    • +3

Some of you really need patience.

  • How long is the transfer from Revolut to Oldubil meant to take? Revolut says that the funds were recieved by the transfer recipient but nothing has changed in my Oldubil account yet.

    • Nevermind, I see this has been answered above. Anywhere from 10 to 120 minutes, possibly longer.

      • I'm not too sure about Revolut, currently testing it right now. My experience of 2 hours was with Wise.

  • takes 3-5 business days from revolut to oldubill as its a swift transfer https://help.revolut.com/help/transfers/outbound-transfers/h…

  • In my Revolut account, my money are washed out? So I don't see how much I have in my account… What can be done?

  • +1

Revolut shows that the money has being recieved by the recpients bank. It was confirmed a few hours ago. However, when i open oldubil, it shows my current balance as 0. Anyone else have this issue?

    • +1

OlduBil processes it during Turkey local business hours. 4pm AEST is 9am Turkey time. So have a lookout around 4pm today onwards. In my experience, mine was transferred at 4:10pm by Wise, and I rceeived it on OlduBil at 6pm.

I also did a 1500TL transaction via Revolut which was sent 2.5 hours ago. So I'm also on the same boat

I can confirm Revolut transfers are much faster within minutes (or hours at the latest).

How can you confirm this when you're also testing it? I think this sentence is probably what's causing a lot of people to freak out when they dont get their money in their account instantly.

That said, appreciate the amazing writeup, I'm also in the process of waiting for the money to hit OlduBil via Revolut.

Because I was 200% confident it would work. And it did, which I have now confirmed. It seems like they did a mass transfer at 5pm today as everyone was reporting at the same time.

          Source: "trust me bro"

Anyway thanks for your support, and sorry to those who got scared they wouldn't receive their money

  • Is there anywhere in OlduBil to review bank details (e.g. Aktifbank) after the initial setup? Just want to make sure.

Revolut transferred my funds immediately (received by bank) but they're not showing on my card. Turkey working hours only just started so I'll have to be patient.

    • I think you just follow the same steps as you initially did to get the bank detail.

Deposit Money (at the bottom) -> Deposit via Bank Transfer / EFT -> then you select the bank at the bottom for the IBAN.

      • Appreciate you.

  • If we already initiated the WISE to the ordil , and they said 3rd july , can we still get xbox live or it wont work then ?

Whats the best route to take if already done WISE path ?

    • Can still do it on 3rd July.

If you don't want to wait, cancel the wise transfer, and leave the money there inside your Wise account for a future use.
Add more $$ to Revolut and start a transfer there!

    • If you don't want to wait or you are concerned about the wait, you can cancel the transfer. If you elected to convert the money back to AUD and transfer the money back to your bank account, you will lose about $2.50. There was a warning I saw regarding transfer to ANZ taking up to 3 days from one of the apps, but I am not with ANZ. My transfer back to AU account was within seconds.

So far, 6PM to 8PM Sydney time, Revolut appears quite efficient. OlduBil is hard to tell at the moment. However, do check the current time in Turkey and UK because if it is close to 5PM, then transfer may not complete until tomorrow.

Revolut sent confirmation of transfer sent at 3.20pm AEST but like everyon else, funds not yet available on OlduBil. Will check around 5.30pm AEST & report back.

    • Funds have arrived in my OlduBil account at 4.52pm AEST.

      • Lucky man

  • I need help with part 4, step 4: Purchase the 1 Month Xbox Game Pass for PC subscription

After buying my first (of twelve) subs, it has created a NEW subscription in my MS account, not added to the Gold Pass. Is this expected? Will I be creating two concurrent subscriptions, or will these be combined in the last step?

    • +2

Yes you'll end up having 3 different subscriptions which merge when you buy the last one Game Pass Ultimate

Thanks OP! Make sure you add a few dollars extra. I was literally 40c too short so i had to wait another day to transfer money onto the turkish card. One of the best deals I found here. Cheers!

    • Great to hear, thanks for your support :)
So sorry for that 40c inconvenience that would have costed you a bit more for the transfer fee @rohit2000, but I hope in the long term you won't care much about a $1.8 loss.

      • Not at all an inconvenience. Thanks

  • Any idea how one would go about increasing the monthly deposit limit?

    • +1

Pretty sure you need to be a Turkish citizen to do so.

    • +1

Not at the moment, best way to probably get your family etc to sign up for more accounts

Can we expect a guide for Turkish Citizenship: 1200M ~A$20,000 (+ Fees, New & Lapsed Users Only) @ Turkiye (No VPN) anytime soon?

Just extended my UGP through until 26 June 2026. Incredible offer.

    Thanks OP!

    • Great to hear, thanks for your support :)

Woah what a trek lol. But got my sweet 36 month subscription with 131 lira to spare. Thanks a bunch OP.

Great to hear, thanks for your support :)

  • I created a new MS account based in Turkey, but just wondering whether this might cause any issues as it wasn't specified in the original instructions.

I have an existing Australia-based MS account that I have previously used for game pass trials but there are no active subscriptions. I should be fine to use this account for this method right?

    • Correct, you're free to use any existing account.

  • Is someone else getting an error when adding the mastercard to the microsoft website? I'm getting this "Girdiginiz bilgileri kontrol edin. Bu kartin bilgileri ile eslesmiyor." = "Check the information you entered. It does not match the card's information." I tried multiple times with multiple addreses

    • Which Mastercard are you adding?

      • I was able to fix it using an old MS account. It seems it didn't like it in a new account for some reason

Just sharing my experience with money transfers. I initially used Wise, but had to cancel the transfer and convert the Lira back to AUD. Ended up getting back $73 out of my initial deposit of $75, which isn’t too bad. But then I tried Revolut and it was a game-changer:

    • Registered with Revolut at 5:40 pm
    • Completed setup and initiated the transfer by 6:09 pm
    • Received notification that money was successfully transferred to OlduBil by 6:20 pm

All in all, the entire process with Revolut took less than an hour. If you’re in a similar situation, I’d highly recommend going straight for Revolut. It’s fast, efficient, and hassle-free.

    • Money landed in my OlduBil @ 6:35pm 👍

    • @SuperFred just leave the TRY money there in Wise. You might need it again for another deal in the future ;)

  • Wise just approved my 2x $75 credits (I was impatient and tried different payment mehods).

Meanwhile, everything has been sorted via Revolut.

Now to decide if I top up my OlduBill with the Wise credit or withdraw to my bank account. I suppose it doesn't hurt to have a Turkish payment method ready to go for the future..

  • Also managed to get this to work, with about 123 lira left. Revolut was super fast. Thanks OP for the amazing guide!

    • Great to hear, thanks for your support :)

  • Revolut is declining my transfer to OlduBill. Not sure why? Anyone else having the same issue?

    • Followed the screenshot. Turns out I didn't say it was a business account.

      • Lol. At least you found the error. I'd say that's a success.

        • Just to clarify something, but do I need to do part 3 and then part 4? Or do I just do part 4 if I just want the 36 months?
