Terms and Conditions

These T&Cs apply to the Refer a Friend promotion (Promotion), where ANZ Plus customers (Referrers) can refer others (Friends) to join ANZ Plus and, subject to these T&Cs, both could receive a $50 reward (Reward).

The Promotion will run from 26 June 2023 to 11:59pm AEST/AEDT, 28 August 2023 (Promotion Period). We may end this promotion at our absolute discretion without notice.


Who's eligible

You can only send an invite if you are a current ANZ Plus customer.
You can refer your Friends who are eligible to join ANZ Plus, but you won’t get a Reward if your Friend is or has already been an ANZ Plus customer.

What you’ll need to do

To send an invite, you must:

  • enter your Friend’s mobile number in the ANZ Plus app (when prompted) with their consent
  • not have entered 10 or more mobile numbers that day and
  • only invite Friends who you think would genuinely be interested in ANZ Plus

within the Promotion Period.

What your Friend will need to do

To receive a Reward, your Friend must:

  • successfully join ANZ Plus with the same mobile number you gave us
  • accept your invite when prompted in the ANZ Plus app
  • add a savings goal (in addition to the Savings Jar) in the ANZ Plus app
  • make 3 purchases of any amount using their physical or digital ANZ Plus Visa Debit card and that we classify as card purchases (note, purchases that we classify as non-card purchases, including transfers and direct debits, will not count towards the 3 card purchases)

within the Promotion Period.

Keep in mind

There is no limit to the number of Friends you can refer but you will only get a Reward for the first 10 Friends who complete the Steps in the ‘What your Friend will need to do’ section.

When you invite a Friend, they will see your Preferred Name (that you gave us). If you want, you can change your Preferred Name in the Profile section of the ANZ Plus app.

Getting a Reward

Once we are satisfied your Friend is eligible and has completed the steps in the ‘What your Friend will need to do’ section, the Reward will be paid into both your and your Friend’s ANZ Plus accounts. This will usually be within 48 hours of your Friend completing the steps but may take longer.

If you’ve already received a Reward for referring 10 Friends, we won’t pay you any more Rewards.

    • Once I completed all the requirements, I received the $50 within an hour or so.

      • Within $10min after my 3rd payment, according to the transactions list.

      Opening account - 5 mins. Time until you transfer yourself some money to the new account, do 3 x transactions and wait for the $50 to hit your account - about half an hour.

    • Quick as mentioned but some people require manual review due to their ID verification failing, which will take longer.

    This is awesome, I got all my close 10 friends to open ANZ Plus from my invite and I got $500 from all the 10 referrals. If you cannot see the 'You can earn $50 each' tile on the ANZ Plus app, go to the profile section of the ANZ Plus app and you can see the Refer a Friend section there. My friends didn't have to wait for them to complete their 3 tasks to on forward their referrals to their friends.

  • Signed up using an Ozbargainer 's refferal, went to woolies and did 3 separate small purchases a few hours ago, but still not received the $50, is that normal?

    • Did you recall seeing the step during the signup process which said 'do you want to accept the referral offer from 'name of person' and clicked Accept?

      If yes, did you set the savings goal. Some did say it's not required but I would just set a simple goal anyway.

          I figured out the reason today - I purchased 3 x $1 amazon gc thru shopback y'day - they probably have changed the rules - no 3 purchases from the same merchant.

  • Does ANZ+ have any use at branches? Like can you use their coin deposit machines or change machines?

    • Nope. This is app only bank. If you walk into an ANZ branch to ask for help with ANZ+, they don’t want to know anything about that and refer you talk to a “coach”.

        • No. Don’t normally keep coins that much to need machine to count.
          Why don’t you ring up ANZ and ask what can you use ANZ+ in person at branch?

    Does anyone know what the financial cover is re phone hacks etc.? Is it the same as reg Big4 a/c cover for scams??
    Personally not feeling sure about lodging large deposits, which is a shame given the interest rate with no hoops.

    Getting responses from friends on the trust/security front re app only banking/ no online portal. And the selfie combined with ID verfication.
    Wonder what the legitimate uptake will be.

    Think this could really benefit from an accompanying web portal, for piece of mind and in case phone battery dies and need to access to transfer funds.

    • I understand your concern about doing large deposits. I am having very disappointing experience with AMP at the moment. I login to my AMP at around 1pm yesterday and was able to see and do transactions, increase daily transfer limits and download statements on my business account with AMP. After I logout and login again 15 mins later, my business account just disappeared from my internet banking. Then I tried to use AMP mobile app and I constantly getting error message, "Sorry something went wrong, HTTP 502 Bad Gateway". Then I went back on internet banking using different browser and still can't even see my business account. Tried mobile banking again still the same error message. Tried to restart the phone, update the app, uninstall / reinstall the app twice, etc. Nothing worked. Rang AMP and spoke with 4 different support agents and was told there was nothing they could do apart from raising a ticket to their IT support team for investigation. 2 out of 4 agents told me I just have to wait and there was no timeframe when this could be resolved. The first person had no clue. The fourth agent actually told me it is 5 business days and he promised to call me either late yesterday after or evening but no later than this morning for an update. Of course, I didn't hear from him. No surprise there. So I am stuck and have no access to my own account and funds. AMP told me yesterday not to worry.

      So, if something does go wrong, with access to Internet Banking or not it wouldn't have made a lot of difference. But I fully understand your concern.

    Easiest money of my life. Waited till the card came as couldn't be bothered setting up google pay. Instant transfer $1 and tapped 3 times @ coles for 1c each. Money was in the account within the hour.

    Only hard thing was using the Ozbargain referral and waiting. Best way is to find one of those people who are always on :)

      Well, someone from Ozbargain sent me a private message yesterday and I replied in about 20 mins. I was on the phone with AMP like approaching 2 hours at the time and was really frustrated, which was why I only replied in about 20mins. I explained to this person how ANZ Plus's referral works because he/she asked me for referral code. Then I waited and he/she never got back to me. I am totally fine if he or she has found someone else, but a quick message with a few words would be nice.

      I am complaining and just thought it is nice of you being patient and go through with it.

  • Received a private message from someone here about an hour ago. Clicked on it got 404 page not found error message. So I guess that person has recalled the message although I still got the notification.

    ANZ Referrals now disabled, promo ended earlier than expected.

    We thought our Refer a Friend promotion would be popular, but we didn't realise it would be this popular!
    In just over two weeks we've burned through all the invites we allocated for the entire promotion, with our teams working overtime to try and keep up.
    It's a good problem to have, but to keep things running smoothly we've decided to end this promotion early. As of 12 July 2023, you won't be able to sendany more Refer a Friend invites.

    Existing invites
    For any invites you've already sent, your friends will still be able to accept, join and complete the steps required to receive a reward, up until midnight AEST on the 28 August, 2023. If you're eligible, you can also still receive rewards for any invites you've already sent. If you accepted a friend's invite when you joined ANZ Plus but haven't received a reward yet, you can still receive one if you complete the steps by midnight AEST on 28 August, 2023.
