These T&Cs apply to the Refer a Friend promotion (Promotion), where ANZ Plus customers (Referrers) can refer others (Friends) to join ANZ Plus and, subject to these T&Cs, both could receive a $50 reward (Reward).

The Promotion will run from 26 June 2023 to 11:59pm AEST/AEDT, 28 August 2023 (Promotion Period). We may end this promotion at our absolute discretion without notice.

Who's eligible

You can only send an invite if you are a current ANZ Plus customer.
You can refer your Friends who are eligible to join ANZ Plus, but you won’t get a Reward if your Friend is or has already been an ANZ Plus customer.

What you’ll need to do

To send an invite, you must:

  • enter your Friend’s mobile number in the ANZ Plus app (when prompted) with their consent
  • not have entered 10 or more mobile numbers that day and
  • only invite Friends who you think would genuinely be interested in ANZ Plus

within the Promotion Period.

What your Friend will need to do

To receive a Reward, your Friend must:

  • successfully join ANZ Plus with the same mobile number you gave us
  • accept your invite when prompted in the ANZ Plus app
  • add a savings goal (in addition to the Savings Jar) in the ANZ Plus app
  • make 3 purchases of any amount using their physical or digital ANZ Plus Visa Debit card and that we classify as card purchases (note, purchases that we classify as non-card purchases, including transfers and direct debits, will not count towards the 3 card purchases)

within the Promotion Period.

Keep in mind

There is no limit to the number of Friends you can refer but you will only get a Reward for the first 10 Friends who complete the Steps in the ‘What your Friend will need to do’ section.

When you invite a Friend, they will see your Preferred Name (that you gave us). If you want, you can change your Preferred Name in the Profile section of the ANZ Plus app.

Getting a Reward

Once we are satisfied your Friend is eligible and has completed the steps in the ‘What your Friend will need to do’ section, the Reward will be paid into both your and your Friend’s ANZ Plus accounts. This will usually be within 48 hours of your Friend completing the steps but may take longer.

If you’ve already received a Reward for referring 10 Friends, we won’t pay you any more Rewards.

Depends how far Coles/Woolies is away. Agreed less convenient than online, but worked like a charm for me.

5 - Revolut $25 topup via digital wallet

      • confirmed.

      • why need $25 ? less okay?

        • $25 is min topup via revolut digital wallet. You could ping pong the same $25 or just send $75 ($25 x 3) and withdraw back later.

          • @scar4ace: ah sorry yes they changed years ago i think can topup $1
thanks yeah just put 75 and take all back later

      • How long does it to receive bonus? I used Revolut topup 15 mins ago bothinv yet.

    • And Zip payment, I tried and confirmed

  • I have to wait for a physical card?

  • I'm still waiting for ID to be verified since last night.. No idea why it's taking long. Tried reinstalling the app too

  • +2

got a text in the morning saying my selfe last night does not match my Id. ffs!

    • +1

The older I get, the more different I look.
My licence photo was from 10 years ago. lol

      • my passport 6 years ago submitted that i had short hair, and selfie i have long hair tied back now hahha and matched

  • Apple Pay card still pending activation sigh…

    • Try set a pin in the app, remove the card from Apple Pay and re-add it

      • +1

        thank you that fixed it.

  • Can anyone please tell me if I have to wait until the referrer adds my number in their app, or can I just sign up straight away once I've clicked the randomiser link? I must be getting old now…

    • They need to add your number, you'll get a txt message when that happens.

      • +2

Nope, text message doesn't automatically come through unless the referrer is willing to forward the referral details in that pre populated text message to the referee's mobile number (exposing their own mobile in the process)

So as far as I know, the only way a referee knows if they have been invited, is for the referrer to message them back on PM and say they've been added to their app.

People obviously need to be checking their ozbargain notifications, I've basically turned mine on in the web browser so I am prompt in replying to referees

        • +2

If people don't want to expose their number for this, then they should disable the referral on their account.
I enabled and texted via my number, that way the other person knows it's done.

        • +1

I've basically turned mine on in the web browser so I am prompt in replying to referee

Nice subtle way of telling people to pm you lol

          • @cheekymonkey97: I just imagine not everyone is actively reading ozbargain or has notifications turned on, so people might pass out their number to someone who is slow to reply or never replies lol. Wonder what happens if two people referred the same person

            • @simplerick: I'm also watching notifications so am fast to reply. It's a good idea for refers to reply promptly. And it's a good idea for referees (if using the randomiser) to message a few users (refresh the page), in case the person they messaged doesn't check ozbargain notifications promptly.

              • @onceupon8: yeah, if I was a referee I would message but hold off providing mobile until they reply, to save wasting time

                • @simplerick: Only if you yourself as referee are then monitoring replies, otherwise doesn't make sense.
You're basically just sending mobile number to 1 person on ozbargain, not sure what people think they are exposing here.

I've got a personal number, which I only used for bank accounts and also get hit by spam, so even when not handing out your number you can be a victim.

        • My referrer didn’t text me (clearly didn’t want to share their number back) but added my number to the app and PM’d me when it was added. I was expecting a message so I PM’d them after a few minutes of waiting and they replied saying I was added to their app so I can proceed to sign up. Sure enough, half way through the process it asks me to “accept” my invite which I did.

Thanks again for quick reply Francis. Hope you got paid as quickly as I did!

  • Eastiest 50$ lol

  • +1

brilliant, that was quick and painless to get it done - maybe half hour from start to payday, and added into the randomiser

  • paying from NAB was instant

    • Via their app yes, desktop website no

      • yeah I used the app. weird the desktop is different.

  • How to become the Referrer?. I saw only the link for
    Referee

  • +1

android pay seems to be missing as an option from Shopback. is that normal ?

    • I also don't have that in ShopBack

    • I couldn't find it either. Ended up using Prezzee instead.

      • tnx for the tip

    • Don't think that is an option. I don't see it in mine.

  • +1

Hi so i just pm via the randomiser my mobile yeah?

    • Yea pretty much. They then get your mobile number and add it to their app. You sign up with same number

    • yep and pm them your mobile number, they will send the referral request via sms. ANZ logs the request, so when you create your account, at step 4-5 of the process they ask if you want to accept the referral

      • +1

Yes and hope they get back to you quick

        • Yeah or wait a couple of mins I would say, fair enough to give em 10-15mins to avoid having multiple people refer one number

          • @kehuehue: Promo officially goes until 28th August so not sure what the rush is unless they decide to pull it earlier. No point rushing to add to the referral link either - I loaded my referral link when it had <200 and now it is close to 600 and I still haven't had one referral from it yet. It's annoying to message multiple people and waste their chances at getting a referral in my humble opinion.

            • @8anddrank: agree. some are not so active on the thread therefore takes time to reply

              • +1

@CyberMurning: Or just refer like 10 real life ppl in ur community… vite them to join the dark side that is ozb frugality 😈

            • +1

@8anddrank: We may end this promotion at our absolute discretion without notice.

That is the part that bothers me. They could be ozbargained, or do a Spriggy 'chuckles' or run out of money hence you miss out

Anyone remember Hiver Bank, good example of things that ended suddenly

So yeah, take that 28 August 2023 promotion end date with a grain of salt, I highly suspect it will end sooner given the power of ozbargain

    • Thanks everyone . im signed up.. now i need to hand these referrals out hmmm fun…free money

      • +1

well ofc ! the deal is with the referral (max $500) not by joining ($50)
        you missing the plot here

  • +1

Joined, setup, verified, loop smashed, $50 paid all within 30min or less 💪💸 winning 🤑 thanks OP!

  • +3

joined, and entered the ozb referrer lottery system - finger cross for all of us, i am get closer to my first 1 million in bank (still short 900k something but hey $50 is a progress)

  • +2

I also got the bonus without creating a savings goal.

  • +3

There might be something wrong with my ozbargain account. I haven't received any requests. My partner received three.

    • +1

@scotty maybe the dice isnt square ? hehe kidding is that just pure luck? what if the system give less chance when someone already selected in the last 1 week for example?

    • +1

That's the way the cookie crumbles. 23 hours later and still 0 click.

      • +1

well… 23 years and i have not won a powerball either

    • +1

That’s ridiculous. Ozb referral system is so shit it needs an overhaul.

  • When I click on the link it just takes me to the google play store with the ANZ plus app. I downloaded the app, but it still just takes me to the store with the app. Is it supposed to open the ANZ plus app directly and tell me I've been referred? Or does it indicate I've been invited during the sign up process?

    • +2

      During sign up process.
You will get a prompt asking if you want to accept referral.

      • Thanks for that.

        • No worries.
I would have preferred to see it upfront too. (I clicked on the link twice before I continued with sign-up)

          • +3

@johnmelb: same i thought what the heck ? where is the unique code? actually no need to click link just go to playstore download and MAKE SURE USE THE SAME MOBILE and then it will ask "do you want to accept invite from XXX"

            • +1

@CyberMurning: That's a good comment too, use the same mobile, I hope people realize that.

              • @johnmelb: well it says there on the sms if you use this number blah blah
i just wish the app can send sms directly instead of exposing our numbers

                • @CyberMurning: Would be better not to have expose number (although I don't mind for referral).
Would be good to be able to track referrals too :-)

  • +1

Easiest off all the bank sign-ons I have ever done. easy money. Hope they pay :)

  • Just finished doing it after the taking a while with the manual validation of IDs.

Added funds on Wise and paid through the ANZ plus , did it 3x, just waiting to see if that constitutes as spending

    • Unsure if i actually accepted the invite after the submission of my KYC info. I got the text on my phone but i was on hold for a manual validation overnight.

Seems like everyone has gotten their $50 around an hour and i still haven't received mine (paid on own Wise account 3x) after 2 hours.

      • have you added the savings goal? easy to forget that step

  • Afterpay and Revolut - Confirmed !

  • I received sms from a member here, downloaded the app signed up nothing about a referral was given to me…. and my accounts active, theres no option to enter any referral details and it didnt prompt me during sign up. what gives?

    • +2

during sign up did you see something like "michael has referred you, do you want to accept" confirm button blue

if you click confirm then thats it

      • nothing on sign up like that. damn. when i click the sms link it just directs me to play store to the app..

        • yes that link means nothing but hey if you get the sms means the referrer has entered correct number

          then…

maybe you entered different phone number?

  • +13

Anyone else have friends that are allergic to money? Not a single person wants to sign up because it’s “too much effort” despite half of them being on minimum wage and the other half constantly crying about cost of living. Can’t help stupid I guess.

    • +3

yes i guess some ppl prefer to do labour work to get $20/hr for 3 hours than doing this kind of thing and get $50.

this is just a guess, but i will not surprised that those of your friends are using credit card alot and in debt (any kind: hecs, afterpay, cc, personal loan, car loan, things like that)
      is my guess correct?

      • Funnily enough, no. A minority in my group have HECS (myself included), one has a car loan, about 1/3rd have mortgages, and I’m not sure of afterpay but I doubt it would be more than a couple of them.

    • +1

      Well you tried!

    • +3

Have a work colleague with the same mindset. Its bloody free money and still doesn't want to do it.

      • I hesitated too. Then I realise I want to use ANZ Plus.

    • +1

You aren't the alpha of the group.

Also you have to sell it to them.

I'm not good at that. I suppose you have to lose some captial.

      In any case.

      • I’m not putting in any more effort than asking once. If they wanna remain broke then be my guest lol

        • I mean for fifty should you put a big more effort into it?

If you could convince one person even bribe them a bit

          • +1

@Stopback: I completely get where you're coming from, but it's not worth me looking desperate and bribing them for something that's benefiting them as much as it is me. I'll enjoy the free money and they can continue to complain about cost of living and how life is unfair haha

          • @Stopback: clearly money is not a motivator for these type of people shrug

    • +1

Someone works a whole day at a restaurant and earns $200 but they think it is too much effort and don't want to take $50 for less than 10' to sign up.

    • +1

Haha. My older siblings are like that. Too much effort.
They can't even be bothered doing the $250 energy rebate. And that only takes about five minutes to do.

  • Can someone tells me at what stage invite would show up, after setup pin?

    • During sign up it should ask if you want to accept the invite. If you're already in the ANZ Plus interface with your accounts it's unfortunately too late.

      • Not yet, I received SMS, put down my nickname, email, now comes to setup pin. Havn't given them my name yet. But I want to be sure. Hope someone can tell me at what stage invite shows up.

  • Now can't get pass the error message. Will have to try later.

    • +1

you'll on the news soon - ozb breaks one of the biggest bank in australia
