You can have 100a continuous discharge for the same price eg/ https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/145022903107

    • But you only get a life of 2500 cycles rather than 4000. Choose which you want, more current or more life.

      • Is there a fixed definition of "life" for a battery? Eg >80% capacity?

You can't rely on anything any of what most of these companies bring stuff straight in from China claim for their products.

And you especially can't believe that seller. It is notorious for selling solar panels that are labelled as a particular power output, but are actually a couple of sizes smaller. Like a 150W panel being sold as a 200W panel. They're generally a fair price for what you get, but what you get has considerably less than you think you're buying, and would have gotten from someone honest who because they are honest are advertising higher prices for products that really do deliver what they claim.

The way to get things that you can be sure actually have the ratings they claim is to buy through stores that have a name, and want to protect the good reputation of that name has. Or to pick a brand that has a good reputation and wants to protect it.

@tonyjzx: These Voltx batteries are great for the price, for a budget battery they are hard to beat.

      • Only if you always live life to the max, but some people might want to use an appliance >700w occasionally.

      • And you believe the stated cycles because?

      • Choose which you want, more current or more life.

Deep. You make the same decision when you eat Maccas.

  • I have been told that cylindrical life po4 cells are better than these pouch type cells. Can anyone shed some light on this please?

    • Prismatic cells are the ones you want

      What you want.. are hexagons.

      • Hmm, rather than hexagons I was expecting "baby I got it."

    • These should be prismatics https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOSnaGev07E

I have one and it has the advertised capacity.

      • "Should be"

      • Wow the teardown of that pro is AWFUL. epic fire hazard. And possibly illegal to be sold here?

  • Thankyou for the responses.I thought one of the advantages to the cylindrical cells was that they have a small air gap between them, this in turn would help with some of the heat dissipation.

Very low discharge current. Won't be good for any proper inverter.
