I see the option to switch but no mention of any bonus. ☹️

    • +2

      Sorry it’s targeted.

  • +4

so, you can definitely change it back to normal $10 off shop? I have never done bank for Christmas before. Don't want to get stuck with it, as I prefer to get the $$ off as I go. I got the email this morning.

    • I am wondering this too, I also don't want to get stuck with it!

    • +15

Yes you can. I have done it couple of times. I just wait til the promo date is over and switch back.

      • Nice. I'll give it a go.

      • no bonus points as of today. should we wait for the points or promo date? ty

    • +5

I always change it back after I get the points. Got the offer last time (for 1000 points I think) changed back after getting the points, wasnt targetted again this time though (wishful thinking maybe!)

    • +1

Yes its easy to switch back and forth. I did that one before. Just best to switch after seeing the points in

  • Beat me to it. Just tried to post it as I was targeted :)

  • -2

    I got the email

  • +1

I got a notification but I can't find it now weird.

    • +1

I did too. Push notification via the app but no email has been received.

      • I got it via the app this morning too, ignored it then never saw it again lol.

But….I got an email from them just half an hour ago so clicked through that and changed it.

        • I just received my email also. Would've been a lot less confusing if they synced their marketing teams up!

      • +1

same, I clicked on the push notification 9my husband's account), it flashed up then disappeared, so couldn't see if I got the $10 deal or not. No email yet for his account, but I have it for mine. Won't do his until I get an email as I want proof of the offer, just in case they don't credit the points.
email just arrived now, so all sorted

  • Most OzBargainers probably already have it on save til Christmas due to random stolen Everyday Rewards redemptions

    • +5

I would've thought it would be the opposite and that most would be using the $10 as soon as it was available to do so, in order to protect a possible loss of Rewards $ due to theft.

    • not sure if my SIL had those Christmas points/$$ stolen while it was in the Christmas lock, or just after she redeemed it to her account ready to spend, but she had the whole lot taken from her account before she spent it.

      • +1

'bank for Christmas' points have been stolen in past. Its far more attractive to thieves, than points being accumulated weekly & spent.

When my ordinary Rewards Dollars were stolen (used interstate), Rewards refunded the $60. Accumulating a large banked value, might be harder to prove & recover.

  • +2

I wonder if they're planning to drive up prices such that $10+ your other rewards in the future are worth less than your current points spent on products at current prices

    • +3

      Prices will rise.
So using Rewards Dollars towards spend now (keeping that unspent money in your bank @5+%), may be worth more than spending your accumulated points + 2000 bonus pts in many months time at a higher price.

Or do as suggested above - switch, get 2000pts & switch back! Best of both worlds.

I use $10 Rewards on weekly shop & accumulate another $10 each week (2000pt for $40 shop offer each week).
I'd rather keep the weekly bills lower.

Collected 16,000 bonus points on $82 spend last week🎉

    • +2

Interesting thought. The cost of the $10 reward is still the same to Woolworths: $2000 spend to get $10 or 0.5%. By getting their customers to bank it for Christmas means that Woolworths gets the interest that would have been earned on the $10 to Christmas. This might be the same as what RbT is saying in their reply.

      • +2

Wondered when someone would realise its in Woolies best 'interest' if we 'bank for Christmas'.

Its effectively banked in their bank account / bottom line! An interest free loan to Woolies, in return for 2000pt.

With 'bank for Christmas'… we spend our cash now (when many are spending less) & spend the banked Rewards when it most suits Woolies (when plenty of cash is being spent at Christmas).

  • Hopefully woolies won't go bust before Christmas 🎁

    • +1

I'm scared of that happening too……

…..that's why I pick Woolies lol

  • Got a 5x points email instead and can't load the offer to the app

  • Got the app notification and swtiched. When do I get that ten bucks?

    • +3

Sometime between 12 July and 19 July.

  • I received this, but I clicked maybe later and now I can't find it again

  • I got this. I'm sure this is the second time this year that I have switched and earned a bonus 😆

  • What does this do? I automatically convert my Rewards points to Qantas FF, if I switch to Bank for Christmas and get the points, then I can switch back to Qantas FF?

  • Offer ends 12 july, does that means we get the point right after that date? Need to setup date for reminder.

    • Within 7 business days of the 12th.

bummer..according to t&cs i am not eligible since i have already had mine set to bank for Christmas as of 04/07

  • Lets see how long this take to come through. Usually they are better than FlyBuys about getting the promos right

    • +2

Yeah they are not stupid and know that people change back and take advantage of it again. Still waiting for mine from weeks ago.

    • +1

According to the T&C's the points should hit people's accounts by Friday July 21

  • +4

    Received the points today.

    • Me too. Is it safe to change it back to Automatic Savings and use the credit now?

      • yes, if you have received the points. I am still waiting

  • +1

    Got my points too.
Note - there is a message when you sign in saying to make sure your phone and email are correct by August 9th due to a security upgrade.
I hope they're not going to log in code via phone like FlyBuys. I find that very annoying

  • +2

Looks like Woolies are now offering more incentives to stay on Bank for Xmas and not switch back to instant savings or Qantas Points. I have an offer for 5x bonus points for every shop until July 27 which is labelled as “your first exclusive Bank for Christmas offer”.

    • Same here, I wonder whether it is worthwhile keeping it for the 5x points, or switch back once the 2k points have been deposited…

    • I think they are trying to push everybody to stay on 'Christmas'

  • Umm… still haven't received the bonus points.

    • +1

Me neither. I received the offer email and I did the switch within the required period. Still no sign of points or anything relevant in the Activity listing. The offer email said:

2000 points will be loaded onto your Everyday Rewards Card within 7 business days of 12/07/2023.

      Time to call them?

    • +1

Me too. Wondering if to call them yet!!

    • +1

we both ended up chatting to them and they manually credited the 2000 points to each of our accounts. They said there might be an issue with some customers having a glitch in the offer so it doesn't credit the points

      • Thanks, I used their online chat and got credited 2000 points for "Goodwill Rewards".

  • I can see the 2000 points sitting in grey in my transaction list.

  • still no transaction showing for this??

    • Nah

      • me either

      • we both ended up chatting to them and they manually credited the 2000 points to each of our accounts. They said there might be an issue with some customers having a glitch in the offer so it doesn't credit the points.

  • still nothing and has been approx 9 business days since the end of the deal

    • It’s going down south with Woolies. Maybe I go to Coles next time.

      • we both ended up chatting to them and they manually credited the 2000 points to each of our accounts. They said there might be an issue with some customers having a glitch in the offer so it doesn't credit the points

        • Ok will go into the chat, too. Thanks.

        • Ok, I got the points now too as goodwill credit.

Thankyou all done and credited, most likely a tech issue in the back end of our systems! Do apologise for the inconvenience that this has caused you!

        • Hi, where did you initiate the chat? i keep ending in their Bot chat and it doesnt have any option to raise issues. Please let me know. Thanks

          • @Benjkmv: I did it through the website…eventually it gets to the stage it asks if you want to speak to a real person (or something along that line), so you say yes

            • +1

@souths123: Thanks, I ended up calling them on their customer care number and after a long wait, i was able to talk to a person and they have credited it now.

  • Just remembered to login to check and found 2000 bonus points hit my acc 14/7.

  • +1

Not sure if its related to this deal or targeted to me only.
