New account and new app install discount

Found this on reddit under the r/miyoomini sub. Apparently the following are required:

  • New Temu account
  • Temu app installed in the last hour
  • Open the temu app, search for "miyoo".
  • There should be one listed for (aud)$101.38c from seller palmfun. Add this to your cart with the 64g SSD (it's cheaper with it for some reason).
  • Go to checkout, add the coupon code aff3545 that is published on reddit and you'll get $50aud off bringing it to $51.38 delivered inclusive of GST.

I already have one of these and ordered another one for a mate….at $50 you can't go wrong.

If you do get one check out OnionOS, it's great.

Edit:If anyone is having trouble on the mobile and doesn't mind an extra $15 - purchasing via the link gets it for $66.49 which is still cheap. The coupon code auto applied to my account is AUQB004

This is what I received in place of my miyoo:

  • Link does not work

    • added the link, not sure if it'll pop into the app or not though hence the instructions.

    • Wouldnt touch temu with a bargepole.

    • The code - aff3545

Basically is %50 off on all orders max 100.

So you just need to search for a miyoo in the app.

  • -4

Get emulator for phone, and a controller

    • -1

Not sure why you're downvoted cos I've done the exact same thing.

      I also have a RG35xx too.

      • +1

I've got a controller too but I find this nicer to just grab and play tbh

All your button mappings are consistent etc and there's no manual config.

        • Was about to say just this. Didn't downvote, but it's just a much different experience.

I strongly doubt I would have ever played Diablo 1, but it's just so easy to pick up and play on these devices and I'm playing through it now and having a blast.

Auto save state on exit is a huge factor, can start and stop as you need without stressing about save points.

    • +2

yes it's a feasible option, but you use your phone battery and the ergonomics are not as good.

Plus the auto save states is great for casual game play to instantly pick up where you left off

      • I love my one of these but tbh the ergonomics aren't great especially if you're using the triggers on the backside.

      • +1

Bit of a late response here, but they suit different purposes.
I play my miyoo mini plus on the train every day, whilst typically also watching videos or listening to podcasts on my phone, which I couldn't do if I was using my phone with a controller.

  • What's the difference between V2 and V3, can't seem to find it anywhere…

    • +4

It is misleading. There's no V3 for the miyoo mini plus (yet)

The term V1/V2/V3 marks the original miyoo mini major batches with small variations between them. The V2 production had halted due to a parts draught (blackberry screen and a chip). The recent restart is called V3.

The og is incredibly sought after because of the size and "collectability" despite notoriously more fragile and no wifi. Two hundred V3s were gone under five seconds flat! I didn't do it although I really wanted the ice blue, since I've got all the other colours already :-P

Why? Miyoo D-pad and size. I.e. One handed Pac-Man Champ. on the og V2 is a fire that can't be done on a phone or a larger handheld, not even the plus imo.

      • +1

Thanks for the explaino, yeah can get confusing but good to know there's some sense in there somewhere haha. Tempted to get a Miyoo Mini+ but have my RG35xx already, and looking at the Powkiddy X55 .

  • There are a lot of fakes of these going around. Not to suggest this one is, but be careful.

    • Temu

      99% chance it's fake lmao

    • Guess we'll find out soon.

    • I haven't heard about fakes on the MM+. I have heard about people being scammed (aka nothing gets sent out), but not one of someone receiving a device that looks like the MM+

      • IIRC, some guy took a $20 punt and got a 400-in-1 famiclone instead.

  • +4

Thanks. Followed instructions and got one. Seems like a decent price for this, provided it isn't fake! Thanks OP!

  • fingers crossed it isn't fake. Just ordered one

  • +1

The fact I can't even look at this website without it requiring me to sign up is a huge no no for me.

    • +3

ordered heaps of items from Temu paying with Afterpay. Shipping is fast within a week to Newcastle NSW and is free. I'm getting items faster from China to NSW then when i order stuff online from Sydney. Always amazes me.

  • Thanks, got one.
So does it come with all the Pokémon games?
Can I also download Nuzlocks and custom Pokémon games on the SD?

I saw on a review on YT, it doesn’t do the in game time stuff well, day and night cycles. But there was meant to be an update recently, does anyone know if that is fixed?

    • I'm not sure honestly what it comes with. You're probably better off sourcing your own.

I bought one off ebay from the previous ebay deal and it didn't come with an SD card anyway.

In regards to times etc I haven't played anything that requires it. Check if there's any mention of it for onionos maybe.

  • I got an error saying that im not qualified for this coupon.

    • Fresh account / freshly installed app (1st time?)

      Maybe it expired.

    • Done. ordered

  • +1

Took a shot, thanks for the clear post OP.
TEMU's intro deals seem really impressive, with all the usual caveats of Chinese online shopping of course.

    • what caveats?

      • +2

Lack of warranty, dubious representation of items, counterfeiters… Not exclusive problems but absolutely more common.

        • same with aliexpress?

          • @Stopback: Sure, and I respect Ali's listing standards and review system. Haven't received my first TEMU order yet but I'm hopeful they're at least as good.
On the other hand, there are marketplaces like DHgate that don't care about quality/fakes or buyer protection whatsoever.

  • +1

    Thanks OP, works great!

    • you already got it?

      • Aus post tracking number received, delivery 11-17 July

  • I don't get it. Does the account and install have to be at least an hour old. Won't let me checkout despite reinstalling app and creating new account

    • I think the app has to have been recently / never installed also. You can probably delete some folders or something so it thinks it hasn't been but which ones are a guess.

Try an old phone if you're super determined, otherwise its $66.49 with coupon code AUQB004 for a $40 discount

      • Yeah tried it on other phone , now the code doesn't work at all. I think they caught on

  • +5

To bypass this freshly installed Temu app condition. There is a workaround (For Android user).
-Add Temu to your secure folder. Most Samsung phone should have this feature, not sure about other android brand.
    -Signup with new account
-You wont be able to search "Miyoo Mini Plus V3 64GB " in the listing. Instead, paste this url into the (in Temu app) search bar "https://share.temu.com/lwkLN9Zz14A"
-Follows Op's instruction above to apply the discount code.
    -Done

*Discount code only works in Temu app

  • Ok burner phone
And pick up when I need to into the office

  • Grabbed one, thanks for the post. See how it goes.

    Cheers.

  • Thanks OP

  • thx 2nd one from temu previously only used web not app got that for 70 this is cheaper. i guess as web only b4 now app for first time it worked.

  • Getting "Sorry, you are not qualified for this coupon." First ever Temu account and just installed the app.

EDIT: tried again on a different device and another new account, got it working

  • Thank you, got one.

  • Sadly none of the codes work for me :(

  • Thanks. The deal worked for me. Now the waiting game as per the above comments regarding fake or legit

  • +1

Didn't need one but for $50 got one anyway

  • -5

Was so close to buying one but saw some posts about other models (rarely) catching fire, and saw the battery that comes with the mini plus…. Looks like a home made solder job wrapped in cellophane.

Wish they'd make something that uses an 18650 or similar instead of a lipo. I get it.. The size.. But I'd trade that for the more-manageable risk.

    AAs would be even better

  • +1

These temu deals never work. Ive never successfully bought from them with a deal.

  • Oh man!!!!! I just bought one of these for $90 the other day! Good find OP!

  • I've heard great things about this device. I think $50 is a steal.

  • Thanks OP. At this price point, worth a shot. Will see how we go

  • +3

I purchased one of these for around the same price about a month ago from temu. Arrived in less than a week and was packaged great and was in perfect condition. Absolutely love this little thing. It's the perfect size to throw in your pocket for bus rides and things like that. I did put onion os on it too. I use it pretty much every day how. It's amazing what $100 will get you these days.

  • Thanks OP I've picked one up. It was hard to decide between clear black and the white

  • For all those having issues with the code. Do not enter it at checkout. Go to your promotions and codes section and enter it in there.

Then select the voucher when checking out.

  • +1

Well now I'm annoyed my wife got me to download this app a week ago …

  • Not saying this is fake…. yet, as mines still yet to arrive (I am getting regular tracking updates which is good).

But I noticed this listing on the temu store is now marked as "discontinued" and can't be found…which is a bit sus

Will let you know what I receive, hope it's a real miyoo, and not 1 of those cheap generic knock offs

    • It had over a few hundred sales when I was tracking it. The seller probably has no more stock. Mine's also on the way so fingers crossed

  • +2

Back in stock encase anybody wants to give it a go again.

Please note that us that already ordered them are still yet to receive them, but I am getting frequent tracking updates, so I'm confident that I will receive something….it's just a matter of it that will be the real deal.

  • Yay, I thought I'd missed out.
I wanted purple which is cheaper without an SD card.

  • Mine arrived today, tested a few ps1 games and so far so good. Smaller than I imagined!

  • How did everyone else go with this? Today I received 2 toy mice instead of a miyoo mini, like cat toys you wind up.

Waiting for them to refund me. FWIW these are $70 on ebay again with ebay plus. Ordered one from there instead.

    • That sucks. Was this from the seller PALMFUN?

      • +1

Yep lol, weirdly they've got good reviews.

Temu already refunded me, just sent them pics of what I receieved.

    • Got mine today. It's legit!

      • +2

        FML

I post the deal and I'm the one who gets 2 toy rats

    • You might get lucky - my ebay order is still 'ready for processing'

    • +3

i both find this hilarious and feel really bad for you

i just received mine and it's perfect

    • Bro that sucks, out of interest what colour did you order? I got mine today (grey).

    • I also got mine today. Legit!

  • i got mine, just powered it on now, played some classic donkey kong, this thing is legit! very happy!

As far as stress testing it, i played some PS1 tekken 3 and it worked great! very happy, thanks OP!

  • Mine has arrived! Works amazingly well. Updated to Onion OS and loaded a bunch of games. Very happy I grabbed this deal. $50 is a proper bargain.

    • Just installed Onion OS but encountered bugs lol. Volume buttons stopped working and 0% battery display. No fix as per onion github. I guess back to stock for the time being. Sad.

      • +3

You might have installed the wrong version.

The "latest" 4.1.x is for the Miyoo Mini and it is not compatible with the Miyoo Mini+

        You wanted this one: V4.2.0-beta

        • +1

          Fixed. Thanks champ!

        • +2

ICYMI, onion is out of beta. The above link is obsolete. Use this link instead for the latest: https://github.com/OnionUI/Onion/releases

Just make sure you get the V4.2.0-RC or up (compatible with miyoo mini and mini plus), not the V4.1.4 (miyoo mini only)

          Pure gold.

  • Received mine today. Thanks OP. Came with a 64gb card with 1000s of Game Roms (I inserted the card into a PC to have a look)

    • I wouldn't recommend using their SD card..the card is both low quality and you don't know what else is on there.

For these things coming from china I would always recommend formatted the SD (so you don't accidentally open stuff on it in the future), and buy a properly named brand (Samsung, SanDisk etc) and use that

      • It's actually cheaper to buy without a SD card now.

        • Not from what I'm seeing, from what I see the only one that's cheaper without SD is purple, every other colour is more expensive without SD.

Regardless, whichever price is cheapest is the way to go (regardless if it has a SD or not), because you should always put your own SD and files on there.

          • @whitepuma: Sorry, currency was set to NZD and was cheaper there. However I still haven't managed to use the promo code for the discount, and I have tried 3 different devices and accounts.

            • @ldd-mn: Interesting.

I only did it once, but it was a bit hard to do it, when I first added to cart it only gave me a discount of like 30% that was without adding the coupon code, and the code wouldn't work.

Then I clicked around a bit, I believe there was a coupon section in the app, then after about 20 minutes of fiddling, I tried again and the coupon code work for the 50% off.

If I'm being honest, i think they deliberately make the app difficult to use, so that you are forced to click around more. There are a number of UI/UX Sins they commit that I Cant get behind, also no RSP there is correct, they inflate them just to make it seem like everything is a big discount.

Regardless, I managed to get my deal, now I'm uninstalling the app.

              • @whitepuma: I think I know why, I'm in NZ and Temu NZ doesn't work with any of these coupons. For whatever reason though, the price for me is only $72.22 NZD without any coupons, without an SD card. Weird regional pricing?

    • +1

Check out https://archive.org/details/tiny-best-set-go to fill up a fresh card

  • I get the message “Sorry, this coupon can only be obtained from our promotions” when I enter the code AUQB004.

I’m not sure whether I’m ineligible, doing something wrong, or the deal has expired.

    • +1

I don't believe you can add that one manually. It is auto-applied for the first hour after installing the app.
If you want to try again you'll need another phone.

  • Thanks OP. Just downloaded the app and ordered the black one. Can't wait to try it.

  • Couldn't get it to work with my android with multiple reinstalls and using shelter (work profile). Managed it with my partners iPhone.

  • Got one, best deal ever haha.

  • +2

Just rolling back to say thanks again, mine turned up last week and to be honest I’m shocked at how good it is. I didn’t expect much at that price point but am pleasantly surprised, only thing I’ve struggled with is a bit of button mapping on mame games. Id guess that’s user error tho.

    • +1

      Are you using onionOS?

I've found the mame mappings are fine, but haven't played many mame games to be fair.

      • I’ve not yet installed Onion OS, but will do so soon. The standard OS actually seems pretty good at this stage.

  • +1

Thanks OP! I’m a bit late but I was able to buy this today. On iPhone, first install but I had made 1 purchase prior to this and I was still able to use the code. Can’t wait!

  • After a week - I received it. It came in a shady styrofoam box that I was hesitent in opening consider how light the entire thing was. Was really surprised that the console was in there. It came with the 64gb sd card but no roms where in it.
