Hmmm, have quite mixed feelings on this fella. Saw he's coming to Sydney, wonder if they'll be half off too and might be tempted to have a proper live listen to him.

I was tempted to say you could try that, but this was an honestly acquired promotional code and we wouldn't want to potentially hurt sales and never have him come again.
While he has some mixed takes on non-astrophysics related things, the energy he brings to science in general is awesome and I've been looking forward to seeing him in person for many years.

I'm not defending Tyson - he seems okay but I'm not a fan or anything, I'm just curious about what his mixed takes are on non-astrophysics fields?

I'm glad he's around - by being such a douchbag he shows that famous scientists, although smart in their own field, are just people and it helps temper against generally forming cults of personality around them.

Neil Degrasse, shake shake shake that ass!

  • Don't know if I'd care to see this guy live, but I liked his appearance on the Adam Friedland Show - https://youtu.be/BX1nRA6GMKI?t=531

I just know I’m getting the good oil when people advertise themselves with a giant eye.

That's a decent deal and to make this thread useful, here are the prices:

Tickets are now $69-169 and the booking fee is ~5%, so after 50% off the ticket (not BF) it should be ~$38.50 for the cheapest tickets and ~$92.50 for the most expensive ones.

    A Reserve $169
    B Reserve $139
    C Reserve $99
    D Reserve $69
    Accessible Seating $69

    • A reserve is $89.39

I think the booking fee got discounted too :)

      • Then it seems so!

Worth noting that the BF is added to every ticket and seemingly unavoidable, so it feels straight unlawful to advertise just the ticket cost and not the real price.

        • Sadly this has become common practice everywhere now. Even in restaurants when ordering through the phone(After scanning table QR code) there are venue/platform fees added on :(

  • Dang only saw this now, would have loved to go :/

    • That's a shame. Enjoyed the night thoroughly, although it did end sooner than advertised kinda (session closed at 9, the 10pm listed was including meet and greets after).
