To be fair, after all this time and still never having sorted the drift issues, their RRP is overpriced.

    • Totally agree, I'm even getting used to the drift, after some struggle its actually take my totk experience to a new level. (x)

  • They repair for free. But I agree. It is a bit shit

      Not in Australia they don't!

    • Outside of warranty?

yes, had my 4yr old pair of joycons repaired for free. I did have original receipt from Amazon though.

        • Repaired through Amazon or direct from Nintendo?

          • +2

@King Steuart: I got mine repaired free from Nintendo but had to have a receipt.
The drift issue is super annoying, especially that they haven’t changed the freaking thumbsticks, what did they do, buy 1,000,000 of these things?

          • +1

@King Steuart: Direct from Nintendo, used their online support and got a paid postage label

            • @nhutty: Did they send back the same joy-cons? They have previously said that they might send back a different set of joy cons. So this becomes an issue if you like certain colours or have limited edition ones.

              • @azngamer: I believe they sent back the same joycons, mine were just the grey ones so weren't limited edition. The repair form said parts were replaced.

Interesting. I have few drifting Joy-Cons - all purchased locally but long time ago.
But I read multiple feedback here from various people saying Nintendo refused to repair their Joy-Cons and asked for some money to cover return postage so I never tried to approach Nintendo with my issue.

@SickDmith: I was afraid of this too, but they fixed both joycons, only one had drift. Maybe because I had invoice?

I got my 5 year old pair replaced for free. Opened a warranty case, Nintendo sent back a form, and a postage label. I still had the original order-confirmation email from Gamesmen ebay which I printed and sent with the joycons. Got them back a week and a half later, the Service Report said "replaced product" and listed old and new serial #s. Possibly refurb, but they "look new".

    • Will Nintendo Australia repair a pair imported from Japan for free?

Other than convenience, I found the 8bitdo Pro 2 controller better to use and at almost half the price when on sale.

Can you link 8bitdo with switch Without using any dongle? Does it support any functions like vibration?

    • Does this have the ability to switch the X, Y, A, B buttons around on the switch to make it like PC/xbox configuration?
