  • Ultimate nbn250 $100 for 6 months ($40 off for 6 months)

$83 for 12months with More Telecom.

$100 for 1000/50 for 12 months with More Telecom via payment with CBA card

      • +4

Yep, I've already used up my 12 month discount.

Now I'm paying $100 for 250/25 for a further 12 months with them.

        • Oh please tell how you managed to get discount? I keep getting told it’s only for new customers 🥺

          • @foogle: same :(

          • +2

            @foogle:

I keep getting told it’s only for new customers

I asked them if they could offer me a better deal not to switch to a cheaper plan with another provider.

        • +1

Can you not churn out and then back in, to start fresh as a "new customer" with the 12-month discount offer?

          • +1

@Gh0StFaC3: Not at the same address.

They do give an ongoing 10% off though and if you contact them and ask for a better deal not to leave, they will increase that.
I'm now getting 15% off for the next 12 months. A friend on a lesser plan is getting the 20% off for another year…

            • @jv: What happens if it's a rental property and new tenants want to sign up?

              • @Gh0StFaC3: I guess it would be considered a new account.

    • Are More Telecom any good?

      • Yes

  • Am I required to use the Telstra modem or can I bring my own?

    • Use the Telstra modem/router if you need Telstra's VoIP phone service and 4G failover.

Use your own modem/router if you don't care about those things.

  • +3

    How about for existing customers?

  • +5

I'm paying $59.95 with leaptel, $90 for the plan here lol

    • +3

Don’t forget not only is it cheaper, but you also get support located in Australia who understand good customer service. If Leaptel can maintain profit with Australian staff makes you wonder what exactly Telstra is doing…

      • +3

        If Leaptel can maintain profit

They're not. They are trying to buy market share.

        • +4

Good to know, let's continue to support them. Telstra is utter sh*t, I made the mistake of signing up for $90 for 50mbps plan back in the days, took me 3 weeks of call centres and involving the ombudsman to finally get my internet going because of their incompetence. Zero sympathy for how Telstra treats their customers, premium rates, yet support is close to non existent and they'll shovel anything they can offshore without thinking of the repercussions.

    • +1

just switched to them as well- came from Telstra. all good so far, and soooo much cheaper!! still using the Telstra router as well- didn't have to do a thing to churn!

  • +7

Who on earth pays $90/$95 a month for a 50Mbps NBN plan? Tell 'em their dreamin'.

    • +1

I wonder when the general consumers realise they have been ripped off? These prices are terrible.

      • +2

Just boomers that only buy services from Telstra, Qantas and AGL without considering that literally any other competition will be better and cheaper.

    • +1

i was clickbaited by the $40/month off in the thread title. i knew telstra were pricier but didn't expect their 50 plan to be this uncompetitive

      • didn't expect their 50 plan to be this uncompetitive

Which planet did you arrive from?

  • +2

Anything stopping me from joining for one month, taking the Kayo, Binge, etc. offers and then leaving the next month?

    • -1

      Yeah, they'll probably cancel them.

    • only your morals :P

    • +1

They offer 30 days refund if unsatisfied.

    • This is the value play.

  • -2

Keep in mind Telstra is discontinuing Telstra Plus as of 7 September, so from that date you will no longer earn Telstra points on any payments.

  • +2

I'm all for NBN deals, but this is not one

  • No value here at all!

  • why telstra doesn't provide ultrafast 1000/50 plan?
